Our experience was great -- virtually all because we had a great salesperson. Drew Laczynski went above and beyond to get us a great car and great deal. We had a somewhat unusual process that took hours (no a great salesperson. Drew Laczynski went above and beyond to get us a great car and great deal. We had a somewhat unusual process that took hours (not the fault of the dealership). Drew honestly evaluated the cars we were considering (vs. just pushing whatever he thought we'd be talked into buying), worked with associated dealerships on our behalf, and actually had our best interests in mind. I can honestly say that I've never had a better salesperson to work with. More
I bought a truck that was supposed to be 31,999 and they tacked on unauthorized charges behind my back . I called the manager out on it and he lied about the charges . Bought a new XT4 a month ago. Has a horrible rattle in the dash. I was told they would need it for 3 days. It has now been a solid week, and just got a call that it's done. My experience at Suburban Chevrolet of Ann Arbor A vehicle especially as a first time buyer for a lot, is such a special moment. You are supposed to feel safe and love it because you want it to last a vehicle especially as a first time buyer for a lot, is such a special moment. You are supposed to feel safe and love it because you want it to last a long time. Ill start this by saying I gave this dealership the benefit of the doubt the sheer volume they were working with seemed to me that business was thriving and that they were someone I could trust, that being said my salesman was a very nice family man and i hope that he isn't reflected poorly in this lengthy review. I am gonna start with rather small things and then get to more serious problems please stay with me as I have spent a lot of time trying to figure out what i can and cant do in this situation and i believe there isn't a lot that protects us, i wish that were different. 1. (8-28-24) After the test drive the vehicle was at more than a quarter tank (test drive was 3 miles at 27mpg), salesperson said he was approved for 30 dollars to put in the tank, when leaving the vehicle had just over 3 quarters but gas receipt shows not only did he possibly not fill the tank (this is speculation but, may also correlate with 3rd issue) but that they put regular unleaded in a premium engine, (Gas Receipt reflects that with location, time, fuel grade this is not speculation) this wouldn't have been an issue if the manufacture didn't specify premium and that this can destroy the engine, especially a used one that isn't even maintained properly. ( 2. (8-28-24) Filling the tank for the first time i noticed a strong gas smell in the cabin of the vehicle i didn't think to much of it till i got home and noticed that the vehicle was leaking gas. Told from a mechanic it could be a fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel injector, o ring, etc. This is technically covered under my service contract for visible leakage (it happens anytime i get just below F) but the fact that this was possibly an oversight(speculation) is a major safety issue because not only does the fuel ruin parts it has corroded on(not speculation), it could've caused a fire while i was driving(speculation but possible) as i have an hour drive home from the dealership. if this turns out to be a crack in the fuel tank, then this is a $1000+ fix avoiding to fill the tank where it leaks which is just at the fill line is just what ive gathered from all that i have. ( gas receipt/amount on receipt reflects my issue and the person who came with me can attest the amount that was in the tank when going in after test drive.) 3. (8-28-24) Carfax shows that there was no major vehicle inspection when receiving after 100,000 miles just that it was just detailed and an oil change this is additional evidence to my previous fact. My issue with this is because many major parts start to go bad after that milestone and selling me the vehicle without an initial inspection overseeing some of these important factors is not only in the wrong for a major dealership to do but could endanger my safety. 4. (8-28-24) At time of purchase, vehicle wasn't revealed to have a Safety Recall that could lead to fire. (copy and search here - NHTSA #24V-608) In final moments of signing paperwork loan officer said that the vehicle had no active recalls and had me sign contract (which reflects that there is no active recalls) on the vehicle but recall with no remedy was notified to dealers on August 13 2024 and is currently active, i trusted the dealership to drive a safe vehicle off the lot. There isn't anything i can do in this situation as the vehicle is not new and there is an argument that i should've checked the Carfax, but to my defense when looking for a vehicle you are looking at multiple vehicles of the same make, model, year. A lot of these sites do not even have a Carfax to look at, This is a major dealership with good reviews and shouldn't have to think about that stuff as there should have been some level of transparency. there is more to this but ive reached the limit More
Brought my 2022 Colorado in for an oil change after two hours the oil was finally changed and The truck was on the ground with the hood up for another hour no less than half a dozen people walked over to t hours the oil was finally changed and The truck was on the ground with the hood up for another hour no less than half a dozen people walked over to the truck and we’re looking under the hood. Three service advisors went over to the truck to find out what was going on and disappeared. Never to return. Finally got the truck and was taking it out the driveway only to find the check engine light was on. Mediately returned back to the dealer when they looked at it. They said an oxygen sensor was bad maybe coincidental maybe not. The service advisor said it would be OK to drive it since they couldn’t fix it that day, five minutes down the road the check engine light came back on the traction control light came on and the engine started misfiring so much for the idiot service advisor. I always had good luck at this dealership when it belong to the Rampys … SUBURBAN was a slip way downhill and now whoever took the dealership over within the last year or so is really terrible. I will never go back there again and here’s why… I immediately took my truck to another Chevrolet dealer to have it serviced.(The oxygen sensor) I told the service advisor what had happened at SUBURBAN Chevrolet informed me when his technician looked underneath the hood of my truck. The whole engine was covered with oil and the truck was almost a quart low on oil now I understand why it took so long to receive my truck from SUBURBAN, they had Some foul up during my oil change and neglected to tell me about it or even clean it up And then to top it off, leave my engine almost a quart low on oil? Absolutely unacceptable. The other Chevrolet dealership cleaned and detailed my engine and no extra charge added the correct amount of oil at no extra charge and repaired my oxygen Sensor which was under warranty. They were absolutely fantastic! I asked the service advisor at SUBURBAN. What would I have to do to get the premium level of service that I expected from a dealership? Would I have to drive a Cadillac? (Since they also sell Cadillacs) The service advisor informed me that the people that drive Cadillacs get the same level of service I do. Which I responded. I was glad to hear people that drive Cadillac get GET THE SAME LEVEL OF CRAPPY SERVICE I DID!! sUBURBAN has gone way downhill. They are deceiving and deceitful and flat out lying people. they take advantage of unsuspecting people that do not have mechanical backgrounds.. So sad! More
Bought a used vehicle and was under some time pressure so the finance guy just rushed through all the documents including the loan document. I thought the loan would be for about $8000 but when I got the co the finance guy just rushed through all the documents including the loan document. I thought the loan would be for about $8000 but when I got the copies later it was for over $14,000 with a $4000 "Other Charge" to Zurich VSC and nearly $2000 "Finance Charge". None of these fees were called out so I ended up paying over $6000 in fees on an $8000 loan. Very corrupt business practice, would never trust again. More
Chris Orr was great to work with! I appreciated his integrity and responsiveness. He had the car ready for pick up and my paperwork ready which I appreciated! Normally when I go to bu I appreciated his integrity and responsiveness. He had the car ready for pick up and my paperwork ready which I appreciated! Normally when I go to buy a vehicle, I'm waiting for hours to finalize everything. I was literally in and out of the dealership within 45 minutes! The only thing I wish was done was a full take of full before I left the dealership. I had to stop on the way home as I had an hour drive. Other than that, I had a great experience! More
I went to test drive a car here where they first called me 10 times that day. Then they were not accommodating time wise despite their hours. When I got there I found significant damage to the car that was me 10 times that day. Then they were not accommodating time wise despite their hours. When I got there I found significant damage to the car that was not disclosed on the website. In addition things like tires and headlights were in terrible condition. More
