Spencer and Travis were great to work with! They went above and beyond and made car buying a terrific experience. Also Travis delivered our new car to Kansas City which is about 3 hours from their deale above and beyond and made car buying a terrific experience. Also Travis delivered our new car to Kansas City which is about 3 hours from their dealership. Once here he went over the car in detail and spent another 2 hours setting everything up. The service was outstanding! I would recommend them highly! More
I had the best car buying experience at Subaru Wichita of my life. I have purchased a dozen new cars over the past 40 years and this experience was the most satisfying. The price was excellent, Mr. Thomas my life. I have purchased a dozen new cars over the past 40 years and this experience was the most satisfying. The price was excellent, Mr. Thomas was very knowledgeable, and the "closing" with the finance person was lightning quick and without any pressure to purchase extras. On a personal note I want to thank Scott Thomas and the staff who found the briefcase I left behind. There were sensitive documents, credit cards, etc. and Scott offered to mail it to me using Fed X. The briefcase was returned with everything intact. Thank you all for your integrity. More
Subaru Wichita is the best car dealership we've ever dealt with. Adrian and Mark, and all the staff were friendly, helpful, and courteous. Price of our new Outback was really fair. The transaction itsel dealt with. Adrian and Mark, and all the staff were friendly, helpful, and courteous. Price of our new Outback was really fair. The transaction itself = No muss, no fuss, everything done right. The car itself is great. We'd go back to do business with Subaru Wichita in a minute. (Great pizza too!!) Travis was very knowledgeable about all the vehicles I test drove. I really like the fact that they let you test drive them without being with you and telling all about the car while you are driving it. test drove. I was able to bring the car home over night to see how I liked it. Travis is an excellent person to deal with and easy to talk to. More
Chris was an excellent person to work with. Although ultimately my daughter decided she liked a non-Subaru vehicle the most, our experience with Chris was without complaint. He was respectful of our time constraints and was never pushy in any way. I am a firm believer that when people do their job well, they should be appreciated for that. Even though we chose a different vehicle based on our own personal preference, I want to recognize Chris for a job well done. More
It wasn't a totally bad experience but it wasn't a good one either. First of all the showroom was a circus! Hot, very loud, noisy, crowded with screaming children (I know this isn't the dealership's a good one either. First of all the showroom was a circus! Hot, very loud, noisy, crowded with screaming children (I know this isn't the dealership's fault) and the smell of pizza and popcorn in the air added to the circus feeling. If you like that kind of chaotic environment then that's fine but I found it rather unpleasant. The experience felt hurried. The test drive wasn't much more than "around the block." I wanted to take my time looking the vehicle over closely but with two to three salesmen hovering over me anxiously the entire time I felt a lot of pressure to hurry. I know that when a single woman shops for a car the majority of salesmen will assume she knows nothing about cars or what to look for. I have been around cars all my life and while I wouldn't call myself an expert I'm not stupid about them either. Everything I mentioned about the car Spencer's response became increasing abrupt and condensing. Yes, it was a very hot day and I'm sure everyone wanted to go back inside the building but I simply wanted to be left alone with the car so I could look at it carefully with no distractions. Unfortunately the people-pleasing side of me took over (not a good thing to have happen when buying a car) and I didn't mention how their hovering made me feel and that I would have preferred to look the car over by myself without interjections from them. This was not a time to worry about the feelings of these guys. I needed to do what felt right to me. There was never any time to give thoughtful consideration to anything; it was all about hurry, hurry, hurry, make the sale. Oh by the way single women out there, they do not have one female sales rep. None. I had found the car I was interested in on the internet. When I got to the dealership the price on the car was almost $2,000 more than what was listed on the internet! I brought the internet listing with me so they couldn't deny me the lower price. That ended well but I don't know what would have happened if I had not of had the internet listing with me. Since I had came from out of town to see the car I had exchanged a few emails with one of their internet sales people. When I did not see floor mats in the pictures of the car I asked very specifically, clearly and plainly if the original floor mats came with the car. The answer I got was that the internet sales person had went out to the car to look it over and replied to me that it did indeed have floor mats. The car had no floor mats. None. Not a one. I don't know how you can call what they told me about the floor mats anything but a LIE. Spencer treated it like a little thing. No big deal just go to Walmart and get yourself a set. WHAT??? You tell me there are floor mats with the car, then there's not and all you can say is go buy your own? I'm sorry but I want factory floor mats not some cheap, tacky set from Walmart! At best their actions constituted misrepresentation and at worst fraud. Remember that I had asked whether the car had its ORIGINAL floor mats. That's because Audi's have these cool snaps that hold Audi floor mats in place. But when you put a pair of floor mats that do not have the corresponding snaps the floor mats will not lay flat. Another reason why a buyer of an Audi would want Audi floor mats. And, Audi floor mats are not in any way inexpensive. I know. I purchased a set of Audi floor mats from the Audi dealer in Springfield, Missouri when I took the car to them for them to check it over. Oh by the way, dealing with the Audi dealership in Springfield was the complete opposite experience of working with Subaru of Wichita. They were respectful, responsive, very customer service oriented. I wish I could have bought the car from them! Dave Carrillo was nice, pleasant person to deal with but didn't do much except go on the test drive with me and sit and chat with me when Spencer crunched the numbers. We went back and forth two or three times in order to agree on a price. The last couple of times Spencer had to redo his numbers he wasn't hiding very well what seemed like an attitude that indicated he just wanted to get my transaction over with and move on to the next one. Once I got home I realized I had not received nor did I ask about a second set of keys. I sent Dave an email and received a reply in a couple of days. There was no second set of keys to be found according to Dave. Maybe they ended up wherever the floor mats are. This was a three year old car that had been a lease vehicle. It wasn't like this car had been through several owners with many chances to lose the original keys. It originally came with two keys with electronic key fobs and a valet key. I got one key/electronic key fob. The cost to get a second key/electronic key fob including programming of the key fob is roughly $200+. It's no little thing in my mind and certainly a cost that is anything but small. I traded in a 14 years old car that had been through four owners and I had two keys to give them. The least they could have done would have been to acknowledge that there was only one set of keys. "Gee I'm sorry but there only seems to be one set of keys with this car. I hope that isn't a problem." or something like that would have gone a long ways to placate me. I would be much less suspicious if it had been acknowledged up front. I emailed him a couple of days later asking for Spencer's email address so I could forward to Spencer the emails I received from Amber Morales the internet sales person who said that there were floor mats with the car. I want Spencer to know that apparently I was lied to by one of his employees. (She had referred to Spencer as her boss in one of her emails.) Here it is, several weeks later, and I have yet to receive the info from Dave. I may just put copies of the email correspondence in the mail to Spencer. But my guess is that he most likely will not be surprised that I was not told the truth and I will get no response from him. I realize the odds of me purchasing another car from Subaru of Wichita is virtually nil. I was looking for a very specific type of car and they just happened to have that car. That is the only reason I had anything to do with this dealership. It's highly doubtful if this situation would ever happen again. I realize it and I'm sure they realize it, too. My advice to anyone considering purchasing a car from Subaru of Wichita is to be very careful, take all the time you need to be comfortable with the potential purchase and if they promise you something over the internet don't count on it being true. i.e. buyer beware. Be careful potential buyer. Be very careful dealing with Subaru of Wichita. More
