Not a great experience I came to Subaru of Wakefield with the intention of purchasing a new Impreza. I knew how much I wanted to pay and went for a test drive. I told the salesperson what I wanted to pay and she said she had to speak to her manager. She asked me for a credit card, saying it was standard practice and was proof "I was serious about my offer." A few minutes later, she came back with a contract, my credit card and a receipt - before I even signed the contract, they had CHARGED MY CREDIT CARD for the deposit WITHOUT my authorization. I had serious issues with this, because not only did I not sign the contract, we hadn't agreed to the financing terms yet. Another salesperson came to speak to me, giving me a high-pressure sales pitch trying to get me to sign the contract since I had already put down the deposit. After sitting in their showroom for three hours going back & forth on terms and ready to walk out, they were suddenly able to offer me what I had wanted - both the price and the financing. At this point, I was so disgusted by the entire experience that I left, went to Cityside Subaru and bought the same car the next day. It took four days for the money to return to my credit card. More

We Can’t Let You Keep a Written Quote If you’re shopping for a car, it wouldn’t be unusual to ask for the price in writing. Wakefield Subaru will present a written quote, but you can’t tak If you’re shopping for a car, it wouldn’t be unusual to ask for the price in writing. Wakefield Subaru will present a written quote, but you can’t take take it home to review outside the pressure of the show room. You can write it down yourself while they sit there and watch. The sales person said “Company policy is we don’t let you keep written quotes.” Then the sales person said: “We don’t want you running to another dealership trying to beat my price by $50. or $100.” Wasn’t that a nice thing to hear? Uh, yeah, I didn’t say I was trying to do anything like that, and thanks for your kind words and assumptions. I would like to review your proposal in the comfort and quiet of my home. The new car buying experience is not easy. I’m not saying I don’t recommend Wakefield Subaru, I would just be circumspect in approaching anybody that works there. More
