We were looking for a Forester and were VERY disappointed with our service. The first time we came it was towards the end of the night and were rushed through a test drive. The next time we came in, the sale with our service. The first time we came it was towards the end of the night and were rushed through a test drive. The next time we came in, the sales associate we were with barely talked to us during the test drive. This sales associate also talked primarily to my boyfriend, despite the fact we had specifically said that I would be the one purchasing the car. Both times neither staff member talked to us about what exactly we were looking for, other cars to consider, making it seem like they were not interested in helping find the right car for us. Their behavior definitely helped us in our decision not to buy from this dealership. More
My fiance and I stopped in to Subaru of Wakefield to look into purchasing our first Subaru. We left the dealership in about 45 minutes with no intention to return, and almost turned off of Subarus in genera into purchasing our first Subaru. We left the dealership in about 45 minutes with no intention to return, and almost turned off of Subarus in general. We were approached in the showroom after a few minutes of poking around the Forester on the floor. The salesman George demonstrated a complete lack of knowledge of the Forester while conducting a walk-around show and tell of the car. Instead of pointing out nice features on the car, he was practically pointing out things like "This is the door handle. This is where you sit. It comes with a radio." It was embarrassing. After about 60 seconds of pointing out the obvious, he invited us to take a test drive. Since the show and tell was going so pitifully, we decided to go. We could barely get out the door to the lot, though, because the salesmen and mechanics chose to hang out in front of the door and shot us dirty looks as we went to use it. Great customer relations - I can't imagine why you guys have all that time to stand around - probably because you treat your customers like crap and they never want to come back. I was looking forward to the test drive. I couldn't get in the front seat. George couldn't figure out how to adjust the seat so that my knees would clear the dash easily. I'm not a giant, I'm 6 feet tall. As he was demonstrating his complete lack of knowledge about how to slide the seat back, he went on and on about how much legroom there was in the back seat. Just pour lemon juice in my cuts, why don't you. We asked about the differences in the trim levels. Captain Obvious let us know that the difference between trim levels was "options." He didn't tell us what those options were, he just kept saying, "It's just options," over and over again. He actually told us that the different trim levels of the Forester are actually the same car with different options. Gee, no kidding? A premium Forester isn't a whole different kind of car than a baseline Forester? Thanks again. After the test drive, my fiance wanted to see how the CD player worked on the showroom floor model, which had an in-dash GPS. We couldn't look at this because THE SHOWROOM FORESTER HAD A DEAD BATTERY. Real confidence-inspiring when the new car has a dead battery. While she asked him again and again how the CD player worked, he answered again and again "You just punch in where you want to go, and it shows you." Note that this is an accurate, albeit dumb, answer for how the GPS works, but tells you nothing about how the CD player works. After that, we walked right out the door. Thankfully we went to another dealership (Cityside Subaru) where we ended up purchasing a Forester, because the salesperson actually knew how it worked. More
Al met us right away and listened to what we needed in a car. He made several recommendations and allowed us the freedom to test drive as many cars as we wanted. There was no pressure and no selling, just car. He made several recommendations and allowed us the freedom to test drive as many cars as we wanted. There was no pressure and no selling, just information that we needed. Al found the perfect car for us with everything we wanted. He had it ready for pick-up on time, with radio stations set and all. After driving home in it and having it for a couple of days, he immediately followed up with a call to make sure we were still happy and satisfied. Which we are! This was actually my second visit to the dealership for a new car. The first one did not go so well and I did not walk out with a Subaru. I gave the dealership a second chance, and met Al. Honestly, if it weren't for him being the one to help us find our car, I'm not sure we would have bought it from Subaru of Wakefield. More
We had just left one of the most bizarre places/dealerships I have ever been to, (Ira of Tewksbury) when we walked into this dealership. We pulled into the parking lot and as we walked up to places/dealerships I have ever been to, (Ira of Tewksbury) when we walked into this dealership. We pulled into the parking lot and as we walked up to the door we were greeted by who I guessed (correctly) was the person I had talked to on the phone. A friendly normal comfortable welcome. We took the car for a test drive, we sort of liked it though it had some minor but deal breaker problems for us. Chris Robertson was the name of the person we dealt with and I would highly recommend him. Ask for him if you go there. Even though we did not buy that day the experience was pleasant and enjoyable. I've bought from Wakefield Subaru before, and customer service has been fine. Not anymore. I am shopping for a car, and sent Wakefield Subaru a quick quote request from their website form for a 20 service has been fine. Not anymore. I am shopping for a car, and sent Wakefield Subaru a quick quote request from their website form for a 2009 model in red. Jon Coill responded with a quote for a 2010 white car, and the usual BS that I have to come in [apparently, so that he can waste more of my time in person]. I sent another quote request explaining that I really am interested in 2009 red. In response Mr.Coill gave up the pretense of answering my question completely, and went on how I have offended his feelings by asking for a quote for a car I actually want to buy. Now, how do I get a hold of the [reasonably] nice guy who I've bought from before? Preferably, by email. More
Went in to drive a used Legacy Outback with my wife and 6 year old son.. During the entire testdrive, I was given specs and performance facts ad figures even though I had told the salesman I worked in the year old son.. During the entire testdrive, I was given specs and performance facts ad figures even though I had told the salesman I worked in the business & was VERY familiar with the product.. It was like he didn't care what I had to say.. THEN, I was doing preliminary paperwork on the car in question even though I wasn't really sure if I was going to buy it when the finance manager walked by and literly RIPPED the paprework out of the sales guy's hands.. When he was asked why he did that, the response was "I want to get out of here tonight".. THEN, I was told that it was "policy" to require a $1,000 deposit on the car even before they would run my credit app.. As silly as this sounds, I believe judgement was passed on my due to my outward appearance (Tattoo sleeves & earrings) which I really don't care about BUT if that's the reason I was asked for $1,000 up front, that's just a rotten way of doing business.. The finance manager in my opinion should be fired for the arrogant attitude he showed. As for my car search, I'm VERY happy with my Legacy Outback purchased at Cityside in Belmont. More
I had to ammend my previous review dut to fact I said I'd recomend this dealership.. I most certainly WOULD NOT!!!! As stated in my previous review, these guys seemed to pass judgement on outward appea recomend this dealership.. I most certainly WOULD NOT!!!! As stated in my previous review, these guys seemed to pass judgement on outward appearances and the fact that being someone that likes body mods, I thereby have no money. I will say that I did agree to put the deposit on the car initially and realized I only was able to use up to $500 at a time without calling my credit card company ahead of time and notifying them of a large, pending transaction, thereby making my card get denied.. That said in full disclosure, BUT, it doesn't change the fact that the $1,000 deposit was demanded in the first place.. More
I did not buy my car there, but I have had my car serviced at Wakefield Subaru for 4 years. The service managers are really friendly and helpful, the service work is fast, and the prices are very rea serviced at Wakefield Subaru for 4 years. The service managers are really friendly and helpful, the service work is fast, and the prices are very reasonable. If you are bringing your Subaru in for service, this is a great dealership to deal with, IMHO. More
i was looking for a new car but not in a rush. i pass this dealer every day, its a small town dealer and i like to keep my business in town. weeks before i told a friend i was going to stop there and i w this dealer every day, its a small town dealer and i like to keep my business in town. weeks before i told a friend i was going to stop there and i was told, "that dealer has an attitude". i went into the dealer and was greeted by a salesman and we road tested several cars with no problem. we sat down and talked about price eventhough i told them i wasn't in a rush. after the salesman came up with a price he called the salesmanager. the salesmanager reduce the price but when i didn't jump he turned nasty. he said, "are you ready to buy now?" i said, "no". "that's all i need to know", turned and walked away. the salesman called the next day and i said, "i can't help but think that that attitude runs through the entire dealership". "you couldn't give me a car from that dealer" and hung up. i'm amazed that auto sales people think you were born yesterday. they offen act like jurks. More
