Day West Subaru was the best dealership experience I had during my car search. The staff was very helpful and never made me feel pressured to make a purchase. We purchased a current model (2013) Subaru that was sold as a certified pre-owned since it was used as a loaner vehicle for 7 months before being offered for sale. Overall the experience was a pleasant one as a certified pre-owned since it was used as a loaner vehicle for 7 months before being offered for sale. Overall the experience was a pleasant one except for two minor annoyances. 1. None of the power outlets worked in the car. It turned out that both of the fuses were blown: the one (10 amp) that covers the front oulet and the second (20 amp) that covers the center console outlet & outlet in trunk both needed replacing. This was partially our fault as we should have checked them all out before leaving the lot. Still, I don't see how a car is sold with multiple fuses blown. 2. Our purchase wasn't completed until after 10 PM so the temporary registration card could not be printed that night (apparently the online PA system is only open 7AM-10PM). This is obviously not their fault. However, I called one week later when we hadn't received the temporary registration form in the mail and was told it should arrive by the following day; if it didn't, then call back and they would FedEx it overnight. It didn't arrive that following day and so I called back to send it overnight, which did happen. It finally arrived 2 days after the follow up call (i.e. 9 days after the purchase). What was interesting was that the following day (10 days after purchase & 3 days after call), we received another copy of the temporary registration via regular mail that was printed & mailed out on the day of the follow up call. In other words, it appeared that they had forgotten to print the temporary registration until I called back one week after the sale. Due to the 2 things listed above, I rate our experience 4 stars. Like I said, the overall process besides the 2 things above was enjoyable...well as enjoyable as purchasing a car can be I suppose. One last thing, their trade in offer for our used car was downright laughable. Doesn't relate to the actual process of buying the car and I didn't take it to any other dealerships to compare but it was very, very low (over $600 below Edmunds trade-in value for "Average"). More

Great experience buying my new Forester from these guys. Greg Lazarchik was super easy to work with and gave us more than a fair deal. When we first came in, he gave us this talk about how he is on the side Greg Lazarchik was super easy to work with and gave us more than a fair deal. When we first came in, he gave us this talk about how he is on the side of the consumer. To be honest, my initial thought was that this was just a sales line, but it is really the truth. If you are looking for a Subaru, check this place out and make sure you talk to Greg specifically. More
It was excellent to work with Greg and the other parts of the sales team. They were very helpful in finding the specific car I wanted and bringing it to their office in a timely manner. I was a little put of the sales team. They were very helpful in finding the specific car I wanted and bringing it to their office in a timely manner. I was a little put off by the financing process and the service contract sales; I have a relative who is a subaru mechanic who suggested that the car was well built enough to not to purchase the (pricey) extended warranty. However, Carl suggested that "he's got 20 guys out there (service mechanics) who would suggest otherwise" [direct quote]. Basically which is it... is the as car well built and reliable as the sales team told me or is it going to start falling apart after 36,000 miles like finance manager said. I guess we will see but I did not appreciate his tone in this matter. More
I purchased a care at this dealership In May 2012. If I had known about this site before now I would have written a review much sooner. All in all, and good experience became very bad when a lie told to me had known about this site before now I would have written a review much sooner. All in all, and good experience became very bad when a lie told to me by management took me calling Gov. Corbetts office after a recommendation from the States Consumers Protection Agency. I had moved to Pittsburgh at the beginning of May for a new job, and had no plans of moving back to CT. I went care shopping and had no intention of purchasing a car in one day, but when I was at Day, they had a used car that I could pay out of pocket for and it was a very good deal, so I decided to purchase it. I still had a CT drivers license since I had just recently moved. It was the last day of the month and they wanted to sell the car so they could get their numbers for the month. I asked if I was going to have a problem registering the car the following day once I received my PA drivers license. The sales man had to go and ask his manager because he was not sure of the answer. His Manager informed me that It would not be a problem to register the car in PA even if I purchased it under a CT license. Well, needless to say I should have trusted my initial instinct. Once I got my license a week later and attempted to register the car I was not able to. I was told I would need to drive back to CT, get another CT license, register the car there, get the title there, and then come back and do all of that in PA. I did not live in CT any longer, and I was starting my new job and that was not a possibility for me. Not only did the company not try to assist me until I eventually called the Governors office, which I was still surprised that I did, but they lied about the situation on the Better Business Bureau website, where I filed a complaint. The manager indicated I had specifically said I decided to stay in PA once I purchased the car. Not only did I have text messages as proof that was not the case, but I had a signed lease indicating the same. This was my first car buying experience, and while the gentleman who sold me the car was very apologetic, but he did attempt to assist me. The woman at the Governors office told me she could not believe how long it took for a manager to get back to her, and she said she would never recommend this dealership to anyone she knew due to how rude they were over the phone. Eventually I did get my PA title and registration thanks to the Governors office, but the run around, and the fact that the dealerships solution was for me to drive back to CT waste all that money to register the car there, get a title and ID there then turn around and do it all again here, was outrageous to me. The bottom line, this place is probably no worse then the rest, but I think you have to be a pretty heartless person to manipulate and lie to a first time, young buyer to have a better quota on a used, overpriced car to begin with. trust your gut when buying a car!
