Terrible and Insulting Trade-in value on my vehicle was over $11,000 BELOW blue book trade-in value (total insult to my intelligence)! Not willing to negotiate on the price Trade-in value on my vehicle was over $11,000 BELOW blue book trade-in value (total insult to my intelligence)! Not willing to negotiate on the price of the NEW car I was going to purchase from Subaru. With this all said, I was still willing to give them another chance and advised Ryan Gamble (salesman) via email and hard to believe its been 5 days and he has yet to respond! I only expect that the dealership make money as well as giving me a reasonable deal. This was highway robbery!!!!! Heading to another Subaru dealership tomorrow even though the distance is a little further. More

He was very good in getting my order placed and stayed on top of tracking it. He updated me on a regular basis. Was just as excited as I was when the car came in. He was very helpful in getting acquainted with the car, as this on is fully loaded and has many toys. . . I know Ted and Roger in service are very helpful and thorough in their work on my previous Subaru. I look forward to them taking care of my new baby. More
Stereotypical car shopping experience I went to Day to test drive a variety of 2014 Subaru vehicles. Rich was helpful with getting us the cars. I would say his knowledge of the vehicles I went to Day to test drive a variety of 2014 Subaru vehicles. Rich was helpful with getting us the cars. I would say his knowledge of the vehicles was about average to below average. I test drove an Impreza hatchback, Outback, and Legacy. I ultimately decided I liked the legacy best, and was willing to do a deal that day if the price would've been right. I had done much pricing research, so I quickly pulled up what Truecar.com said a fair price was for the car we were discussing. I had read an article earlier in the year that basically said True Car was funded by the manufacturers and dealer networks, so I know the price I saw on there was on the high end. When Rich asked me how much I wanted to spend, I knowingly low balled him about $1,500 below the True Car price. I could tell by his reaction he wasn't too happy. He also ran my trade-in through the AutoTrader marketplace estimator and dinged me for every little thing and then some. When the trade-in estimate said $4,800 he asked me if that was in line with what I was expecting. I told him no, that I had ran an estimate just a few weeks before and expected to be around $5,600. He said he'd see what he could do. Needless to say, he did the typical let me go work up the price with my manager thing. He came back said he had great news, showed me a price for the car that was way more than I wanted to spend, and told me he was getting me $5,600 for my trade. I asked him where the good news was. He didn't seem to understand. We went back and forth a bit more, with the same dissatisfaction. He tried other cars, same result. I left. He even called me the next week telling me he had something I was going to really like. I didn't like it. I found a deal just an hour away on a 2015 with everything I wanted and then some for less than what he was telling me he could do, plus they had evaluated my trade-in at $6,200. It seems like Day really does't know how to understand what heir customer really wants, and also tries to screw you on price and trade-in. I won't go back to them ever again except to comparison shop and test drive. More

I first talked with Dave and told him that I wanted to purchase the GTO they had listed and asked if it was available. He said yes it was. I said that I could wire the money immediately and that I would like to have it shipped to California. He said that I had to come into their store personally to purchase the car, and that they do not arrange shipping, that I would have to do that myself. I called again and asked to speak with the owner and was transferred to Jeff the GM. I told him that I wanted to purchase the car and could wire the money immediately and could he assist with shipping. He said that they ad done that before. He told me he would check on the arrangements and get back to me. While on the phone I received a call from the dealership but they did not leave a message. I called back three times, two of which I left voice messages with Mark the sales manager. On the third call I asked to speak with Jeff. He told me that there was someone purchasing the car. Unfortunately they do not want to work with an out of town buyer such as me. I had the money and would have purchased the car, but they chose to stall until they had someone come in to the store. Very UNETHICAL! They advertised the car nationwide, but would not deal with an out of state purchaser. More
I was recommended to this dealer by a friend who does corporate & rental car sales. He introduced me to one of the general managers by email, and when I went into the dealership to look over what they ha corporate & rental car sales. He introduced me to one of the general managers by email, and when I went into the dealership to look over what they had, I was handed off to the internet sale person. This was fine for me, since I'm sure the GM is not going to personally get into the details. We haggled on a 'used' 2014, which was fine, and we got to a place that I was sort of ok with, but I wanted more for my trade-in. I filled out an application, and because it was close to 8pm they said they would put it through finance and let me know when to stop by the next day, which was the 31st of Jan, last day of the month. When I got home, I asked my sales friend to call and see if there was anything they could do to help me out on the trade-in value. The following day I didn't hear anything from them until I reached out right before noon. The Internet sales person said I wasn't approved for the longest term of the loan, did I want to try for a shorter term. I said ok, and was there any movement on the trade-in. He said yes they could come up to my ask, which was great news to me. But then I heard nothing the rest of the afternoon. When I checked in at 4:54pm and said I assumed nothing was going to happen on a Friday night when they closed at 6pm, the sales person said that finance was swamped because it was end of month. Saturday morning, I heard nothing from them. I even emailed them about 11am to ask what was going on, and there was no response. I finally went to another Subaru dealer, picked up the new premium model I wanted (not used), got my asking price for my trade-in, and 4 hours later, I drove off the lot with my new Forester. There were some credit issues that I wasn't aware of in my application, but this dealer took the time to discuss them with me, and offer an option that I could live with. I was amazed at the lack of communication from Day West Liberty, even if it were to tell me sorry, that they couldn't work with me. It was unprofessional and extremely short-sighted. But I'm sure they sold the car either that same night after I left, or the next day. I would think twice about working with them. More
Day Subaru was by far the best encounter I had during my new car search. They offered the best figure for my trade-in (by quite a bit), and they were willing to meet me more than halfway in other areas. P new car search. They offered the best figure for my trade-in (by quite a bit), and they were willing to meet me more than halfway in other areas. Pete was extremely accommodating during the entire process. When it came time to discuss numbers, I honestly felt very little pressure to come to a decision. In fact, Pete's overt sense of humor injected a lot of levity into the process. Once all parties agreed to terms, a simple handshake helped seal the deal. I went on to meet Carl Petro in the finance area to discuss the terms of the contract. On a Saturday evening (after closing hours), I expected to see someone in a hurry to close the deal and go home -- Instead, Carl was attentive, intelligent, and quite engaged. There were no "gotcha" moments during the process. He had a great sense of humor on top of all of this. The car was "sold", the paperwork was done -- there was no need for him to exchange anecdotes with me in a strict "business sense" -- but he did anyways. That says A LOT about the people who work at Day. Trust me on this. The best part? He didn't try to back-load the offer. After the paperwork was complete, I went back to Pete and he was more than helpful in transferring my things from the trade-in to the new car. He reminded me of the garage door opener on the sun visor (which many people forget). Even though we test drove the car I bought, he still took the time to explain all of the features the vehicle had to offer once I was owner. All in all -- I would recommend Day Subaru over any other Subaru dealership in Southwestern PA. Thanks Pete and Carl. More
