Dear Carlady- After sending you a private response to you about your review and explaining our policy's and procedures we did not hear back from you. Now that your review has been posted we would like to issue a public response in order for our situation to be read along side yours. Below is a response from Ted Leeper who helped you during your second visit to our dealership. From Ted Leeper at Olathe Subaru- It is upsetting to hear that you had a frustrating experience with me here at Olathe Subaru. Because this is the first negative review that I have received, I wanted to respond personally. I apologize that we were unable to meet your needs and your time frame but please know that I did everything possible to accommodate you. You may recall that I offered you a tour of the features of a similar Legacy that we had but you declined because it was not the exact color that you were looking for. Although I did not write down the VIN of the Legacy that you were looking for, I knew the exact model, option, and color combination you sought. When I excused myself briefly, I used our internal system to locate the vehicle or an exact match in the area which yielded no results. This does not mean your Legacy was not at the other dealership however, it does typically indicate that we will not be able to access it. I also compared the VIN you gave me to the other local dealership’s website while you sat at my desk and it did not match. As an alternative, the incoming unit that I offered to reserve for you was a black on black Legacy model with the same trim level and option package. We request the nonrefundable down payment to secure the vehicle because taking vehicles off the market and moving vehicles from one dealership to another costs money, even for local trades. If possible, I would have gladly driven to get your Legacy without a deposit. As I indicated, we did attempt to get your Legacy here after you left. We learned that the other local dealership knew/remembered they had a customer who wanted to buy it, you. For that reason, they would not trade it to us. Although I am happy to know that you bought a Subaru, it upsets me to learn that my best efforts were unsatisfactory to you. I ask that you please consider the courteous and prompt attention that I gave you and the potentially negative impact that your review may have on myself as well as our Olathe Subaru dealership as consumers often read reviews when they are looking at where to take their business. Being a Veteran I take respect and honesty very seriously, so does Olathe Subaru! I encourage anyone who is reading this to read both my reviews as well as the many that our Dealership has received before forming an opinion or feel free to contact me directly to experience customer service that is truly exceptional.
