customer service not a priority I went to Olathe Subaru 2-8 and talked with Brian and drove a Legacy. Told him i really liked it and wanted a black on black which they did not have I went to Olathe Subaru 2-8 and talked with Brian and drove a Legacy. Told him i really liked it and wanted a black on black which they did not have at the time. He said i could put a deposit of $500 down to see one when it comes in which would be refundable. On 2-14 i went to Van Subaru because i was visiting my daughter in Shawnee which is close to Van. We talked with John and told him that i wanted a black on black legacy. We looked at a car, sat in a car, he explained numerous features of the Legacy. He seemed genuinely concerned about satisfying my needs as a customer. I also met the sales manager and manager. Over the next 2 months, I got 8-10 emails from John and 3 emails from Al the manager, but just a card from Brian saying he was still looking. On 4-9 John emails that he has a black on black that he thinks meets my description. I call and discuss the car and really want to look at it but VAN is 40 miles away north of Kansas City. I get the VIN number so i can check on insurance. I go to Olathe which is 20 miles away on 4-10 with the VIN number and speak with Ted. He says Brian is busy with a customer but he told Brian i was there. Brian looked at me but did not communicate with me during this visit. I proceeded to tell Ted that i had a VIN number of a car i really wanted to see and wondered if he could get it. He looked up Van's website and found a black legacy but did not compare VINs and said he could get it but i had to put down hold money of $1000 which would not be refundable. When i said "no way", he said he would talk to his manager. He came back saying this is what i had to do. He then said they were getting a black legacy in May and it just happens to exactly match the legacy that i described to him at Vans. I offered the VIN i had twice so that he could get this car or at least see it's description, but he did not take it. I told him i was going to Shawnee 4-11 and would go by Van's and look at the car and he said "If it's still there." I went to Van on 4-11 and was met by John. I drove the car and John showed me how it handled in different situations, John extensively went over all the details of the car, and then we talked about buying it, which i did. On 4-11 there was a message on my phone from Brian saying, "Sorry i missed you. I hope you were taken care of." My perception of Olathe Subaru was indifferent, disinterested, flippant, uncaring compared with my experience at Van Subaru. I couldn't believe they were not bending over backwards to get my sale. Had i not gone to Van Subaru and experienced their exceptional customer service and only have gone to Olathe Subaru, I probably would not have purchased a Subaru. More

We would not have any trouble recommending it to our friends and family provided they did not have to deal with one person in particular. The sales staff was very friendly. Chrissy Eisenmann deserves special recognition. We would not have a Subaru Outback in our driveway today if it were not for her. She was very professional, knowledgeable and went above and beyond to meet our needs. Amy did an outstanding job explaining the features of the car upon delivery and we were happy with the entire delivery process. The main concern we had was with Kevin Bratteig, the General Sales Manager. We had talked to Chrissy on numerous occasions and had actually made a prior visit to test drive a Forrester and a 4 cylinder Outback. We liked the Outback and decided we would like to drive a 3.6R which the dealership did not have at that point. Chrissy called us and told us that one had just arrived. We drove 60 miles one way to test drive the vehicle. We liked it and decided to make an offer and to let them give us an offer on our low mileage 2009 Venza. It began to snow and we were concerned that the process would take too long but we hoped that we could make a deal before the weather got too bad. Chrissy did some preliminary work and took our offer to Kevin. I expect some theatrics from the sales manager whose job it is to maximize profit for the dealership, and I was not disappointed. He tried to confuse the invoice price of the Outback with the True Car price that I had printed out. Once he recognized that was not going anywhere he started discussing the Toyota Venza. He swore by an auction site, which in all honesty provided a low ball price designed to maximize dealer profit. I was then informed that we were at an impasse despite the fact that we really hadn’t even started to negotiate yet. He also slammed my website information where I had obtained trade in values and one of these sites was Kelly Blue Book which he basically downplayed. This was despite the fact that Kelly Blue Book was featured on the dealership website and is currently featured in Subaru advertising. Once again, this was all to be expected but considering the snowy conditions, not appreciated. He kept repeating himself and that we were at an impasse and he “did not want to waste our time”. At this point my wife said we just as well go home, as it was snowing. I recognized this as a tactic on his part to get me to lower the price on my Venza, however I also wanted to get home before it got bad. My wife stood up and he stormed out of the room saying he would not negotiate in this manner. He did not shake my hand or say anything about regretting our not being able to reach an agreement. It is not an understatement to say his behavior was rude and unprofessional. We were ready to leave and I did have a brief conversation with Chrissy and we agreed to leave the door open and discuss further the first of the next week. It is a fair statement to say that no one thought at this point a deal would be made. Following several emails and a phone conversation or two, Chrissy was able to put the deal together. I am sure she had to have Kevin’s approval but the deal would not have happened had it not been for her. We did not appreciate Kevin’s behavior and would recommend that anyone who does business with Olathe Subaru NOT have any dealings with Kevin Bratteig. In fact, it says something for Chrissy and the rest of the dealership that despite Kevin’s behavior, we can still recommend this dealership. More

Thorough, Honest, and Thoughtful Saleswoman In March of 2014, I attended the KC auto show, and completed a form requesting additional information on the Subaru Outback. The next day I received In March of 2014, I attended the KC auto show, and completed a form requesting additional information on the Subaru Outback. The next day I received an email from Ariel Frink at Olathe Subaru offering her contact information if I wanted a test drive, or more information. I thought "Wow, she is a go-getter." I saved the email. The next week, she followed up with a message on my voice mail. I was so impressed with her organizational skills and follow through. Months later when I was beginning to seriously look at a variety of vehicles, I called Ariel to set up a test drive. I LOVED the size and features of the Outback, but I explained there were other cars I was still considering, and I wouldn't buy 'til December. She is a great listener, and never pressured me. She made me feel I could depend on her sincerity and dependability. She called in December to see if I had decided on a vehicle. I told her that I would probably be getting the Outback, but not until January. She listened to my requirements in a new vehicle. She helped me prioritize my wants and needs. I got a the great optional package bundling both my needs and wants. She kept me informed of what Outbacks were due to arrive in January, so I could tag one that fit my desires for color and optional packages. She was always efficient and precise in her paperwork and followed through with phone calls updating me with delivery status of my future new Outback. She was joy to work with. She always took my calls, or returned them within a few minutes. I hadn't purchased a new car in many years; and I had been dreading the experience, but Ariel made it all so easy; and I know she gave me a great car at a great price. More
Great Saleswoman and experience We recently bought our first Subaru. Chrissy was our saleswoman and she is the best sales person I have every worked with. My father worked for Ford We recently bought our first Subaru. Chrissy was our saleswoman and she is the best sales person I have every worked with. My father worked for Ford so I have dealt with more than my fair share of car sales people. Chrissy was never pushy and always understanding. There were many situations affecting our possibility of getting the car and she never made is feel pressured or inadequate. She did everything she could and worked with the great Finance guy, Mark, and made the sale happen. But through the whole process they made sure that our situation and needs were the priority and not the sale. The only weakness was it was a long day. We were there all day but that had little to do with the dealership and more to do with our situation. More
Great experience! Stopped by Olathe Subaru to check out the new 2015 Outback, as it was on our short list for a new vehicle. We took one for a test drive with Chrissy Stopped by Olathe Subaru to check out the new 2015 Outback, as it was on our short list for a new vehicle. We took one for a test drive with Chrissy Eisenmann and she is great! Very knowledgeable about the vehicle and the Subaru brand in general. We were going to have to wait to get the vehicle we wanted but the next day, Chrissy called and emailed about a new loaded Outback that was delivered. We went right over to check it out and Chrissy gave us as much time as we needed to make our decision. We bought it! Although the dealership is small and not fancy, the people are great! Thank you!! Until I walked into Olathe Subaru with a plan to test drive the Outback that I had researched and ponder the purchase. The Outback really does sell itself, but the staff at Olathe Subaru know how to deliver quality service in a friendly and fun way. I worked with Ted Leeper in sales and Mark Garvert in finance. Both were genuinely invested in making it the best possible car buying experience a person could have. I am very pleased with the service and look forward to seeing the team again. Definitely recommend these guys! More
