Drive it and you'll buy it! I bought a 2006 Chevrolet Suburban in March of 2007 with 10K miles on it. It was a corporate rental at a local ski resort. I purchased the vehicle w I bought a 2006 Chevrolet Suburban in March of 2007 with 10K miles on it. It was a corporate rental at a local ski resort. I purchased the vehicle while stationed in Massachusetts. Over the next 8+ years I have been stationed in MA, VA, CA and now back home in the FL. I put over 241,000 miles on it with-out spending a dime other than tires and oil changes. That is up until about two weeks ago where I had to replace a brake line, fuel pump and two calipers to bleed it. So wanting to end our relationship on the upside I decided it was time to start looking for something newer and wanted to downsize and get better gas mileage. I got pre-approved through NFCU and started doing my research. I drove and fell in love with the GMC Terrain, very gucci and great gas mileage. Although the great gas mileage only comes in the 4cyl engine which is a bit under-powered. Although I LOVED the truck but wanted to ensure I did my do diligence and spent a few days going around town checking out 7 different vehicles at various dealerships. One of my big concerns was visibility from inside the vehicle, and height as I am used to a Suburban. I sat in many vehicles and if I didn't like the ride height or visibility i didn't even bother driving it. I went by Subaru of JAX to check out a used vehicle I believe a Jeep Latitude that was already sold but looked right quick at the Forester and Outback. Juan Hernandez met me, told him my story short version, where I wanted to stay under $25K. Long story short they had a 2015 Subaru Forester that was a dealer loaner with under 7K miles on it. They wanted $26,500. Seemed a lil small to me but figured what the heck I'll drive it. I was sold. We were too far apart on numbers so I left and kept looking and did further research. Was able to pull up my front runner the Terrain and the Forester side by side. Unbelievably the Forester has more ground clearance, more cargo space, more passenger space and comes with a CVT 2.5i engine and standard AWD. Additionally it was a certified used vehicle through Subaru so I got the 7 year/100,000 mile warranty. I ended up walking out almost 2K below invoice and with tax, tags and title was just over the original asking price. Didn't get a great deal on my trade in, but it was exactly what i asked when I counter-offered. AWESOME vehicle, the 2014 SUV of the year! Go drive one and you'll buy one! Seriously, Awesome vehicle! My first Subaru but couldn't be happier. And gas mileage is INSANE! Wayyyy better than advertised. EPA expected is 32hwy/22 city. I'm getting 27 city and over 32 highway. Thanks Juan! More
