When we bought I have been a customer of Subaru of Jacksonville for 12 years now having owned a 2008 Outback and currently own a 2014 Outback Limited. When we bought our current Outback we swapped titles with our Daughter & Son-in-Law and traded in their 2005 Forester on our 2014 Outback. They still have our 2008 Outback & it is serviced by Subaru of Jacksonville! Always impressed with the level of service & customer appreciation by Subaru of Jacksonville. More
Want a pleasant car buying experience? For starters, I hate buying cars. I hate the changing prices, the pressure, the deception (intentional or not), the negotiating, the unexpected fees, For starters, I hate buying cars. I hate the changing prices, the pressure, the deception (intentional or not), the negotiating, the unexpected fees, the back and forth between the salesman and the manager while you wait for the word from "on high;" the whole thing (OK, except the new car smell - that's cool). Well, I think I've found my new "forever dealership." First of all I love the product - I can't say enough about Subaru especially given the circumstances necessitating my most recent car purchasing experience. Following the total destruction of my Forester in a rear-end collision - my wife and I knew we were getting another Subaru. No question, didn't consider any other brands. So why Subaru of Jacksonville? We had a history with another local Subaru dealership but figured we should compare to see if we could do better. Right out of the gate, SOJ pulled ahead by providing upfront pricing, full disclosure of fees and other costs, excellent selection of both used and new vehicles and lots of information available on their website so I could do my research at home before visiting the dealership. The staff established and maintained contact without being pushy or invasive - but always being available for consultation and helpful in their responses. What really set SOJ apart, was the atmosphere in the dealership. It was different from others I had visited. It may be the culture of their dealership, their business model or just the personalities of their sales staff, but I attribute a lot of it to the family ownership of the business vs the corporate culture of other dealerships I've dealt with. A case in point was the camaraderie between the sales and other staff at the dealership. Although we started out with one sales person (David), health issues dictated that we deal with two different sales folks (Jerry and Ryan) before we finally made our purchase. Rather than the lack of continuity detracting from the experience, it gave us the opportunity to experience the culture of the dealership while selecting the best vehicle for our needs. Each salesman was knowledgeable, helpful and forthright with no hint of territoriality (you know what I'm talking about here!) and the attitude made me feel that their goal, was more to help me find the right vehicle than to sell me one. When it came to the purchasing phase of the interaction, I won't say it didn't include the seemingly requisite private meeting between the salesman and the sales manager between each phase of the negotiation; it did. However my salesman (in this case Ryan) was so upfront, helpful and considerate of my requests and financial considerations that I was never made to feel defensive, confrontational or pressured in any way. From the very beginning, my experience with SOJ and its staff was entirely positive. While the product is what took me to SOJ, it was the quality of the staff and the culture of the dealership that earned my business. Although I have not dealt with the service department, I was encouraged by the knowledge that Ryan had of that department's staff and their level of experience and expertise. I look forward to seeing if future interactions with that department equal those I've had with the folks up front. I'm optimistic - I think it's the culture at this dealership. I highly recommend you give this dealership a "test drive." More

Most Excellent Arrived un-announced and was received as though I had an appointment...Waytt entered all the information and subsequently reviewed the entire services Arrived un-announced and was received as though I had an appointment...Waytt entered all the information and subsequently reviewed the entire services requested and confirmed...Expressed a time of approximately 90 minutes...About an hour later, the car was serviced (Including a car wash)...The last step was to review all items serviced which was quite simple...Lastly, Two words...Most Excellent. They most helpful and knowledgeable Subaru guy around I called over half a dozen subaru parts shops around the country with a technical question about a specific part for my Forester. All of the shops I spoke to sounded like they didn't care to help, were too busy, didn't know how to check for me, required me to email, etc...until I called Subaru of Jacksonville and spoke to Chris Schaer! Chris took his time and listened to my question, figured out a way to check for an answer for me, found me the correct part for my car, and was very patient with me in the process. I ordered the part from them in FL even though I am out in CA all because of how helpful Chris and his team were. Helpfulness goes a long way and the folks at Subaru of Jacksonville are all very nice and so helpful. Thank you so much! Darrin More

Easy first Time! I needed a spare key for my 2010 Forester and called the dealer on Friday and they were able to order a key and have it cut for me for Monday pickup. When I got there the key was ready and I left to go start the car with the new key. It fit the ignition but would not start the car. I went back inside and the parts guy told me I would need to have it programed for $35 at the service dept. I asked if I needed an appointment and he said no, just go see one of the guys at the service desk. That's where I met Steven, he got the code for my car and went out and programed it himself. He apologized for the inconvenience and thanked me for my visit to Subaru of Jacksonville and told me there would be no charge. I was out of there in 10 minutes, but more importantly I know where I will go when I need service for my Subaru. More
