Chris was my service manager and Sally was my sales representatives and they were both incredible!!!!! Sally has been booking my appointments there for a while now and always makes sure I am looped in representatives and they were both incredible!!!!! Sally has been booking my appointments there for a while now and always makes sure I am looped in on promotions and services that are timely given the state of my car and time of year. And when a conversation was too specific and out of Sally’s depth she happily acknowledged that and passed me over to Chris to continue the conversation about the work I needed on my car. Chris did an incredible job of ensuring that my car got the full inspection it needed and was not trying to upsell me at all. When I asked about certain upgrades he honestly talked me out of a few that weren’t worth it and suggested a better priced alternative that fit my needs. I know dealerships have a reputation for rushing work and overcharging but if you go to this dealership and ask for Sally and Chris… I can honestly say that they are shining examples of how customers should be treated and cared for at their dealership. They won my loyalty and the work on my car was incredible! More

I was advised by service writer that codes would not be checked unless I paid a fee for service, which Inheard him say was $149. Invoice stated customer said to ignore the check engine light. A good dealer would check the codes as a courtesy for a loyal customer. I was advised my drive belt needed to be replaced, just as I had been advised at my prior service. My problem with that is they “replaced the belt less than 30K miles ago, and when Inasked the service advisor how frequently the belts need to be replaced, he stated anywhere from 70K to 100K miles. I also asked them to take a look at the passenger front window that cannot be controlled from driver side; there is no mention of this on either the invoice or multi-point inspection report. I’ve been told on the last few service appointments that my steering rack needed to be replaced, but somehow the multipoint inspection report was checked green for the steering rack this time thru; it must have fixed itself. Initially the buying experience of a used car was fine. I wasn't hassled and the rep was very friendly. The financing agent stayed an hour past closing to finish the paperwork and was also very friendly and straightforward. What really ruined the experience is the misinformation regarding an extra key and the months long process of getting a disappointing answer. I was told that a second key was available, that it only needed to be found, and I would be contacted once it was. After a month, I called for an update, but they didn't have one. Called again a week later, only to learn that there was no second key, but they'll make one up for me. Ok, fine, I'll be more patient. Another month goes by and I call for another update. They call back saying that a key is being made and I'll get a call back. No call, so I call after almost another month goes by to learn that they are going to charge me $300+ for a another key; the one that was supposed to come with the car anyway. I did get an apology, which doesn't mean anything at this point. I would like to thank the sales manager for not taking the time at all to call me personally to let me know that my expectations were of so very little concern to Subaru of Hackettstown. If you shop here, please be wary of what they tell you about what comes with a used car purchase. After the sale, don't expect any additional consideration for your satisfaction. More

We “worked” with Aaron, the service manager. If I would give zero stars I would. We brought our Subaru to get the sub frame replaced as part of a case number from Subaru of America. The techn If I would give zero stars I would. We brought our Subaru to get the sub frame replaced as part of a case number from Subaru of America. The technician said he “ didn’t want to waste his time” with our car. They pretty much estimated everything but the kitchen sink (even though we specifically asked for the cost of replacing a subframe only) and said this car was not worth it, even after explaining that we simply can’t afford to buy another vehicle. They estimated over $4000 just in labor and $10,000 in parts. This is pretty much saying it’s the “I don’t want to do it price.” I had always thought that you’re supposed to work with the customer and help them. Unfortunately, this is not the case. I can go on and on about our experience, but the best advice I can give you is DO NOT give this dealership your business! There are other dealerships to go to (UPDATE) The new service manager Alan replied to another review asking me to reach out to him to address my concerns. I have to leave a message and attempting to reach out to him. I have yet to hear back. Several weeks have passed. Just goes to show you how much they value their customers. Adding insult to injury I keep getting phone calls from the service department, asking me to schedule an appointment to get my Subaru serviced, this coming from the same place that pretty much told me this car is not worth getting fixed and to get rid of it.
