Let The Buyer Beware In the spring we purchased a 2024 Subaru Forrester touring car. When we were initially speaking with the salesman he asked what features we wanted on our car. We stated everything t Subaru Forrester touring car. When we were initially speaking with the salesman he asked what features we wanted on our car. We stated everything that was on our current Subaru Forrester which included the automatic braking system, blind spot mirrors and lane departure warning and we wanted the remote start functionality added. We went home with a new car but it ended up not being what we asked for. Thinking that there was something wrong with the remote start I went to the dealer to find out what the issue may be. Long story short, we found that the remote start we requested was not included in the car we purchased and there was no automatic braking. Losing this function added an additional 15.00 dollars a month to our auto insurance. Perhaps not a big deal to most but we are on a fixed income since retiring. We were taken to the man, I believe his name was Tony who did the financing and he had a copy of the sales and said that these were not included in car that we purchased. He was also being quite arrogant and very rude and asked more than once in a curt tone if we wanted to purchase another vehicle that included these items, as well as saying you’ve had this car for seven months and now this is a problem. Basically the remote start is something we only used in the winter to take the chill off our car and honestly never gave thought to using it to cool the car in the warmer months as he made a point to mention. To add insult to injury he said he could have the remote start added but it would cost as an additional 900.00 plus installation. I can honestly say that I have never seen a company representative be so ignorant in their discussions with a customer (former … will never buy from Hackettstown Subaru again) who has questions about a purchase. His comments to us show xxxx poor customer service and Subaru Hackettstown should be embarrassed to have someone like this represent their company. Now don’t get me wrong, I like our car but it would have been nice if we weren’t deceived when the purchase was made. More

Extremely dishonest and lazy service department! !! DO NOT TRUST their work or recommendations!! My mom just bought a used 2014 Subaru Legacy from a private owner who had maintenance done at this !! DO NOT TRUST their work or recommendations!! My mom just bought a used 2014 Subaru Legacy from a private owner who had maintenance done at this Subaru World Hackettstown every 7000 miles for the past 7 years. I figured I would take the car here for its scheduled maintenance, multi point inspection, etc since they’ve been servicing the car for the last 7 years. Car just hit 150,000 miles too so it’s recommended. Car ran fine with no issues I just wanted to get it serviced since it’s a new purchase and to assure my mom got a good car. I dropped it off, went home and picked it up the following day. They advised me the car looked great, they just did oil change, cabin filter, and multi point inspection and charged me a fair price of roughly $180. And off I went to drop my mom’s car off to her and it ran just fine. No dash lights or anything. I get home and immediately smell a bit of antifreeze when I get out of the car. I looked underneath and see a somewhat slow drip. I immediately called them and brought it back in as they advised me too. I told them again in person I was just here a few days ago and the car was in good condition as per their service dept. They asked me to wait and about an hour later they advised me the radiator, cap, both hoses, and clamps need replaced and quoted me at $2100.00. And they advised even after that repair the engine might be damaged permanently. I asked how this wasn’t identified during the inspection and service that was done literally a few days ago and only 21 miles were put on the car after leaving the service shop and being told the car looks great and needs nothing. They offered no apology or reasonable explanation. They advised the radiator must’ve completely cracked during the 21 miles it was driven after leaving their service dept and being given a clean bill of health. Thought I was doing the smartest thing by bringing the car here for service and oil change immediately after purchase. Figured pay a little more but at least you can expect quality service at the dealership. Just disappointing they didn’t make any effort to inspect the car on the initial appointment and truly provide quality service. Had they done their jobs properly, the car would’ve never been given a clean bill of health. They didn’t test drive it or let it run at all otherwise they would’ve realized the radiator was cracked/leaking. More

This dealership is so on point. Made an appointment for an oil change, 24000 mile service and they said it would be about an hour and sure enough it was.
