This is the second vehicle I have purchased from Jessica Compton at Strosnider Chevrolet. I bought a 2023 Silverado ZR2 6 months ago and today I am purchasing a 2024 Silverado 2500 Duramax. **BUYER BEWARE** DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE. Do not buy a car from this dealership. They do not stand behind their values. It’s a classic Bait and Switch mentality. Very unprofessional. Let’s start from the beginning, I inquired about a 2014 Tacoma online now 2 weeks ago. The dealership reached out to me to discuss options. First a woman named Courtney. Then I was directed to a saleswoman named Candy. I told them my current truck was hit in an accident and that I was waiting on insurance to get back to me. But continued to discuss my interest in this vehicle over the course of a week. The following week I inquired more seriously into the purchase. I told them I was tired of waiting on insurance and was ready to proceed soon. This was late in the week on Friday. I spoke of driving down to purchase the truck on Tuesday night, and completing the transaction on that upcoming Wednesday. So beforehand on Sunday I made mention of putting a hold on the truck as well as placing a deposit on it. I was then told they could only hold the vehicle for me if I filled out a credit application. I wanted security for the purchase because I’d be traveling from Massachusetts to buy the vehicle. On Monday I had been told by candy and a woman by the name of treasure that this was the only way they’d be able to hold the truck for me. It took a little bit of time for me to fill out the credit application because I was at work all day. Two hours after submitting the paperwork she messaged me back, are you still interested in buying the vehicle? I haven’t pulled your credit yet and there’s a an oil leak. I inquired about the oil leak, what was wrong and how bad it is. I was told they don’t know yet but the truck is in the shop. She asked me if I would still like to proceed with the truck. No hesitation, I said yes of course I’d like to proceed. She then called me to discuss more details on the truck. Several delayed responses later from the saleswomen candy, I was then told that the truck was sold, but the deal wasn’t completely finished yet and she’d let me know if it fell through. I was frustrated at this point because I had been trying to reserve the truck and move forward with the purchase. My only hurdle was waiting for my day off, and the 10+ hour drive I had to make in order to buy it. At this point I called the dealership and asked to speak to a manager on Tuesday morning. This is when I was greeted by AP, who at first seemed nice. I voiced my opinion and frustrations on the situation. He then informed me that a man came into the dealership the previous morning, expressed interest in the truck and filled out a credit application on it. He then continued to tell me he wasn’t completely sure he wanted it yet because on the test drive that’s when the oil leak was discovered. Said he’d call me back when he knew more. He never called me back, I had to call him and inquire again. He then said they hadn’t diagnosed it yet, but the shop foreman was going to drive it home to see if it’s okay. He told me he would call the man in the morning and figure out if he actually still wanted it and he’d let me know. They were holding the truck for this man because he agreed to numbers, after telling me they don’t hold vehicles. At this time I had a friend inquire online about the truck, they were told by treasure that the vehicle was still available. She then scheduled a test drive. My friend inquired about putting a hold on the truck, which they were then told it’s a first come first serve basis. After a few more text messages exchanged about details we were told again the truck was sold. So at this time we figured we would take matters into our own hands, to try and get to the dealership before the other man to buy the truck. On Sunday we had already booked off work, reserved a rental car and booked a hotel for this trip to go the buy the truck. More
