It's an accurate account of the pre-owned car buying experience we had at Honda Conyers. For what it's worth, I'm experienced in sales & now lead the first impressions team at a very large organization. Discernment is a gift of mine & I expected a lot. Before visiting, we spent a couple of weeks searching online for the exact make, model & year vehicle for my wife's next daily driver (a 2015 Lexus RX350 with the features she desired). Once we found a handful to examine more closely, we reached out to a few dealerships to set up appointments. We made a visit list based on these contacts, fully intending to purchase a vehicle that day. Due to geography (we live in Gainesville), Honda Conyers was our 2nd stop. The 1st visit on the way to Conyers was a short stop due to the condition of that car, & we didn't feel great about the company either. As you'll discover as you read on, we never made it to the other planned stops. The initial response by John Buckner set him & Honda Conyers apart from everyone else we contacted. I'm glad he was the voice that answered the phone when we called. From the start, John was prompt, courteous & competent. I genuinely felt like he was working to help me secure a great deal on a great car for my family. He confirmed everything up front before we ever stepped foot on the property, including our final price with tax, tag & fees. We arrived to find a well-detailed vehicle parked in front for our inspection, an expectant receptionist & team members who rolled out the red carpet for my wife, 2-year-old girl & me, and John waiting with a smile & handshake. We were treated like valued guests from our arrival until we wrapped up the deal & departed less than 3 hours later. I cannot overstate the kindness & attention everyone we came across bestowed on my family: cold bottled water, a coloring book and balloon for the girl-child, clean restrooms, & a pleasantly humming showroom floor full of smiling, attentive & helpful colleagues. The finance manager, Justin Spears, even made an early appearance to introduce himself to ease our conversation later, connecting with us personally and loving on my family as well as John had. When we got down to business, Mr. Buckner recapped our agreement & shared the Carfax report I'd requested. He was disarmingly cordial & professional, handling my demanding personality like an experienced & successful producer (he's not the standard order-taker that dominates the current car market, but an old-school pro who took the time to understand our needs & wants, meeting us with his best response on each point). John acted like I wasn't insane when I went over a 5-year-old car with a fine-toothed comb, pointing out minor scratches & checking the oil. Finally, he & I test-drove the car to eliminate the distraction of my wife wrangling a toddler in the back seat. He was gracious to allow me to take the car through a reasonable test route, complimented the ride & the brand but didn't do any selling. The car did that for itself. When we returned, I could tell my wife & daughter had been well taken care of and were happy & comfortable. John presented my final additional request to buff out the few small scratches. This was accepted & scheduled for the next week. Then John got to work submitting all the info needed to prepare the docs. Before I made it to Justin's office to finalize the purchase, John had already taken the car off to fill the tank for our drive home. Justin was every bit the gentleman I'd first met when presenting protection offerings, etc. In the whole day, no pressure & no games. We weren't asked to pay a dime more than agreed. More importantly, Justin confirmed the amazing Lifetime Powertrain Warranty that came with our purchase. The follow-up visit went great & 2 weeks later we're still all smiles!
