1998 Toyota service 1998 Tacoma V6 4wd with 358k miles that my son gave me. It had a high idle problem in neutral, 1200-1500 rpms. I took it to 2 other mechanics who were 1998 Tacoma V6 4wd with 358k miles that my son gave me. It had a high idle problem in neutral, 1200-1500 rpms. I took it to 2 other mechanics who were unable to fix the problem. The 2nd one recommended Mr Steven Hicks at St Mtn Toyota. He told us they would have to do a comprehensive diagnostic evaluation to find the problem and told us the cost. He called us back as soon as he had results and gave us the cost for the repairs. He knew the cost was high for the age and mileage of the truck, so he gave us a discount. The mechanic that did the work also replaced some hoses for us at no charge. The final bill was approximately $200 less than what he had quoted. It turned out one of the parts replaced by the referring mechanic was bad. The mechanic at Toyota took the part off of his own vehicle to test it. I felt like Mr Hicks was attentive, professional and customer focused, and the mechanic went above and beyond. More

10+ Hours for an Oil Change & 90 Minute Recall Fix I only chose to take my car here because there was an active recall that needed to be performed at a dealership; since I also needed an oil change I a I only chose to take my car here because there was an active recall that needed to be performed at a dealership; since I also needed an oil change I added that on as well. I dropped my car off at 7am, as scheduled (and confirmed) and was told by the service rep that it would be done around lunch time. I call around 12:30 and am told that it is not completed yet, that he would check on the status and then get back to me. I hear nothing. At 4:00pm I call again to be told that the oil change has been completed and they are working on the recall - the service manager stated that he didn't know the scope of the recall. HELLO! There is only one active recall on my type of vehicle. I get a call back at 4:20pm to be told that they are finishing up - I ask if I can head over and he says to wait 30 minutes. I wait the 30 minutes then head over - it is now after 5:00pm - and the car was still not completed. I explained my plight to another service rep - because mine had obviously left for the day and told her that I would never return. While my oil change was comped, which I appreciate as far as service recovery goes, the fact that I was not given a correct, approximate time of completion is unacceptable. Never again. More

I waited three hours and they weren’t able to fix it. I was given a rental and told I would get a call on Saturday morning. At 11:00 I called the dealer to find out what was happening. They said it was ready but called back 20 minutes later to say that a fuse was blown and needed to be replaced. Went back to get my Camry later that afternoon. Now it is signaling me with a sound I’ve never heard before whenever I drive into the garage??? Have no idea what this is about. More
