WORSE EXPERIENCE in my history of buying cars. I traded in a 2018 Lexus IS 300 w/less than 45k miles, for a vehicle that I unfortunately really did not want (my fault). I owed ($9,000.00 or 15 mo I traded in a 2018 Lexus IS 300 w/less than 45k miles, for a vehicle that I unfortunately really did not want (my fault). I owed ($9,000.00 or 15 months) on my Lexus but had offers of $22K that the dealership matched. Out of the 22k, they pay off the $9k, put 7k towards the new car and I received a check for $5,000.00. After just 5 days and approx. 60 miles later, I was completely stressed of having traded in a LEXUS down for an Altima. I then contacted my sales person and decided to trade out of that car and into one that I was more pleased with, something more comparable in speed at least. I ended up swapping out 5 days later and was told everything would essentially be the same but my payments may go up abt $100. Figuring after such an ordeal, I could live with that. I picked up my car and signed away, trusting the paperwork was as they said. After the final sale as i saw glimpses of the paper work, it wasn't adding up so i go over my paperwork unfortunately about a week later bc it did not appear as my sales person said. This is where it gets reeeeel interesting. So, I end up paying almost $200 higher than my original car note, my interest rate is higher, and they add on an additional year. To top it off, they said I still owed $10K from the trade in of now the 2025 Altima (that i did not like) for my new 2024 Altima. Mind you - they get to keep my 2018 Lexus IS 300 excellent condition and I OWE them for trading back in - an undriven car after 5 days. NOT TO MENTION, the sales rep tried to date me and had the audacity to ask to borrow some of the $5,000.00 back that i was getting for my Lexus trade in (for his daughter). In conclusion, i traded in a Lexus that i owed a little over 9,000 for and i now owe close to $70K for the 2024 Altima SR VC Turbo. $40k for the car, 10K that rolled over=$50K plus $18k interest over the next 7 years = $68,000.00. And did i tell you they have my Lexus and 7 grand of my money. According to the Finance Mgr - the 2nd car deal is separate and the 1st one is closed out. I understand that this is legal in car business but its predatory lending as far as i am concerned. They were only looking out for themselves and once i traded in the 1st Altima - they had me right where they needed me. I couldn't get my Lex back and they knew I no longer wanted the 1st Altima. 2025 Nissan Alt's no longer have the previous power. So I went back to 2024 to get the Turbo version What kind of business is this? I TOTALLY GOT SCREWED! Just because a dealership can do it, doesn't make it right. More
