As a former professional in the auto industry, I have encountered countless dealers in my travels. Now, as a Navy service member, I understand what good leadership can bring to an organization. With Stokes VW, that exemplary leadership starts with Carlos, the GM of the dealership. John, his sales manager, also provides the customer and the employees with a comfortable environment. The one manager at Stokes VW that makes the greates impact is Eddie Nuttall, the business manager. He's got the hardest job in the dealership- selling intangibles to customers who he's just met. Also, he is the one man responsible for ensuring the customer's financial situations are settled with regards to their new car. He is a man that operates under a complete belief that doing the job honestly and professionally is the key to success and building long-term relationships with customers. Moving to the sales staff at Stokes VW, they are all friendly and approachable. They are all willing to cooperate and work together as a team; which is in contrast to the backstabbing, snake-like nature of most dealerships' sales staff. Within the excellent staff, there is one standout. Mr. Phil Tackett, the internet sales representative, is a true example of a gentleman in a typically non-gentlemanly industry. He is dedicated, often sacrificing his own time and off-days to come to work and assist his clients. I feel completely comfortable buying my vehicles from Phil, and I am glad to refer all the Navy business I can to him. So to Phil, Eddie and the whole Stokes VW team, well done and keep up the high business standards you have. To Eddie Stokes and the rest of the Stokes Auto Group, you need to recognize the Stokes VW way of doing business and learn from it. I have had some awful experiences at other Stokes stores, most notably the Honda store in North Charleston. The salesman, lets just call him J.G., an "old dog" of the car business, seems to be completely unaware that the car business has evolved, and therefore, the car salesman must evolve. It's time for some evolution J.G.! You can't blow customers out the door, because with professionals like Mr. Tackett out there, you're going to lose a lot of business very quickly. I'm sure the example set by Stokes VW will improve the rest of the Auto Group, and I look forward to doing more business with Stokes VW in the future. More
Every aspect of this internet originated sale exceeded my families expectation. There wasn't any hassels from anyone at the dealership; no hidden costs or added fees. My family and I had flown in from Europe and the day had already lasted 19 hours by the time we got into the dealership. My two young boys were tired and we just wanted to get the car and be on our way. Phil promised that it would work out that way and he delivered. Phil even picked us up at the airport and drove us to the dealership with all our luggage. Phil gave us a complete review of how the car operates, and we were on our way. I have purchased 4 new cars in my life and this was by-far the easiest purchase I have ever had (FULL STOP). Customer service, cleanliness, expertise, you name it, Stokes VW in North Charleston had everything and I highly recommend them for a vehicle. Additionally my vehicle, a 2010 VW Jetta TDI is a fantastic car! More

He was very professional and extremely helpful, just as he had been as we talked via email. My husband and I purchased two cars and we were always comfortable with Phil as he explained the best qualities of each of the cars we chose. He was also patient with me as I shopped for the car I really wanted. We feel that we are part of the Volkswagan family because Phil made us feel very welcomed. Most of all, Phil made the "car-buying" experience totally painless! We are pleased with the service and will look to Phil as our auto advisor in the future. He's a great person to work with because he really cares about his work and buyer walking through the door. More

I recently had the BEST car buying experience of my life at Stokes Volkswagon! Thanks to Phil, Anthony, and ALL of the others, I am now the pround owner of a Routan- and a swore I would never be a mini-van at Stokes Volkswagon! Thanks to Phil, Anthony, and ALL of the others, I am now the pround owner of a Routan- and a swore I would never be a mini-van mom! This van is amazing and by the way I still like to call it an SUV- my Sports Utility Van. They were a fantastic group to work with from phone to email to in person! They found the car of my dreams and even surprised me by picking it up from another dealership and having it on the lot waiting for me! I couldn't have asked for better customer service and can't wait to buy my next VW. More

I shopped a couple of SC VW dealers and by far the lowest price and friendlyest people were at Stokes. We are very happy with the Van. The whole deal was easy and they had the one my wife wanted in stock. Phil was a great sales guy and help set up all the cool stuff in the radio (which is awesome) John and Dave were also great. We look forward to years of great ownership with the Stokes people right behind us. If anyone is in the Van market you should check these guys out!! More

I contacted Phil Tackett, at Stokes, and he communicated all the information I needed with a minimum of hassle. Buying a car does not have to be a hostile, suspicious experience. Phil treated me respectfully and got me just what I wanted. I've dealt with the service dept here and have always been satisfied. `I like the fact that this is not an enormous dealership. People know you when you come in and I feel comfortable. Are there cheaper prices available somewhere in the state on any individual deal ? Sometimes yes, I'm sure. Dealers are as competitive as they have to be. I felt I got a fair deal on my trade in, and purchase. VW's are not cheap nor are they #1 in service, but I like the way the car looks and drives. I got a good % of my original purchase price back on my trade in. I'm getting the mileage they put on their stickers and so far have had no problems with the car. I exspect to own this car for 5 or 6 years, and don't put on a great deal of mileage. Come to the dealer in 5 years, and you might be able to buy my car. BJM 62 and retired More
I was looking for a hard to find Beetle TDI and found it at Stokes. I went in to look and met the best salesperson I've met in my 52 years on this earth. Robbie Chinn was totally upfront and amazingly honest in dealing with me. I looked at the car and drove it then told him I wanted to do more research on it, Guess what he simply said 'yes sir' no high pressure and thankfully no B.S. To make a long story short you can't possibly do wrong by dealing with Mr. Chinn or this dealership. I'll be more than happy to put out on the 'Chiefs' grapevine that this is the place to send your youngsters when they need a dependable ride and most of all a fair deal. Being a retired MCPO integrity and honesty are two traits I covet and this dealership and salesperson desplay both. More
