Bought a used Tundra from Stokes Brown Toyota. Overall had a very good experience, and I got a great price on a nice vehicle. We came back a month later to buy some rubber mats and before we could even say who we were, he asked "So, how are you liking the 4Runner?" He remembered us!! Then, we weren't sure if the mats would fit, so he searched around until he could find a 4Runner to check if they would fit. This guy really knows his stuff. Great dealership with wonderful customer service! We WILL be back :) More
I recently went to trade in my avalon for a prius. The point of me doing this was gas mileage. This is something I told my sales guy, Kevin, up front. I let him know up front that 1. I owed a good bit on my current vehicle 2. the only reason I m trading is for gas mileage and 3. my credit is not great. I was not trying to waste his time or more importantly MY OWN! So, he assured me yes you are approved let me know the car you would like and we can work out the deal. Well, that was not the case. Instead of telling me that I could not get approved for the car I wanted, he drove me around in random cars he picked out off of their lot. During this time the dealership was supposedly looking at my car trying to gather a trade in price for it. I had to leave it there because some person was coming and I was told he could probably give me more money on my trade in. Which of course did not happen. So for 2 days straight I drove home 2 different cars. One of which had 0 fluids and left me stranded. I called the sales person but he never bothered to return my call. This is after he insisted I take his personal cell phone number incase of any trouble with the car. The dealership was closing when I drove off with the car so the sales persons number was the only number I had. I had to wait until the next day to get in touch with a manger. The manager let me know I could put some fluids in it myself so I would be able to drive it back to the dealership. The next day they tried to tell me it was only out of gas. Then, when I insisted that wasn t the problem, they informed me it was the fuel sensor. By this time, I am working on day number 3 of driving to this dealership after work. I informed the sales person I could not get there until 6 or 7. He assured me yet again, that was no problem and we would still be able to work things out. But every day the same thing when I arrived. I had to wait 30mins before I was even able to speak with him. Once or twice they even had someone else talking to me until my sales guy was free. By the time he was free, he talked to me long enough to let me know it was too late to talk to the banks. So, after this 5 day fiasco, I left their dealership w/o purchasing a car. Even though this review seems long, the nightmare actually lasted longer. ......I was referred to this dealership by a friend. I have bought 3 cars over the years from SAVANNAH TOYOTA and 2 cars from the Honda dealerships in savannah and I had great experiences each time. I had sold my previous car much sooner than I thought I would, and was without a car so took a bus from NC to Hilton Head. Stokes Brown picked me up from the bus station in a limo and brought me to the dealership. The car I purchased was a VERY recent trade in, literally a day or two prior, so they were completeing the inspections etc while I was en route. When I arrived, Gregor let me know they had found a small weld in one of the rims and were trying to have a new one sent over. Turns out a new one was several days away, but he managed to source another rim for me from another customer and saved me from having to spend a few days in Hilton Head (not that HH is a bad place, but this is in the middle of a work week and I needed to be back in Charlotte the next day). So, I signed the papers and off I went. The next day I really started to notice a power hesistation when I stepped on the throttle. I noticed it when I test drove, but my previous car was a turbo and I was basically used to that feeling. Turns out, my clutch was slipping. I talked to Gregor the next day and he spoke with his managers. Initially, they said it was a wear and tear item (which a clutch is) and they couldnt cover the replacement. I then sple directly with the manager and after a lengthy conversation he agreed to pay half, and in a few days I had a check in the mail and a new clutch on the car (As they say, always have an independant mechanic check out a used car- learn a lesson!). Anyway, moral of the story is that it was a good dealership to work with, Gregor was a great help, and even though I had a minor issue with the bad clutch, I would certainly buy from them again. More
