No one returns your phone calls I had made a service appointment for a recall about a month ago, but never got an email confirmation for it, so I called last week to confirm what the I had made a service appointment for a recall about a month ago, but never got an email confirmation for it, so I called last week to confirm what the date was so that I wouldn't miss it. I left my name, number and was told someone would call me back shortly. No one ever called. So today I called and they told me that I missed my appointment (it was for a 7:30 am drop off) and they could no longer fit me in. I asked if I could drop it off at lunchtime since the work was already scheduled on their end (the parts were already ordered) and they said no because they couldn't give me a loaner car. Now they tell me they cannot fit me in until July!! I have a family road trip in June and would prefer to have a safe car on the road, but now I won't. Thanks for nothing... Update: I emailed the Service Manager directly (Tom Wimmer) and explained everything. His email back to me was a forwarded link with how to schedule service online, which you cannot do for recall work. Wow, the helpfulness just keeps coming! More

I didn’t know I had a recall Because it was so long ago. My drivers side headlight was out and it’s very difficult to change on your own. I came in on Friday morning and waited. I Because it was so long ago. My drivers side headlight was out and it’s very difficult to change on your own. I came in on Friday morning and waited. I wasn’t even done my coffee and my car was done. I expected to pay for the work but Heather advised that it was under a recall so the bill was $0.00. My 2011 Outback has 182K miles on it and I have brought it here for all of my service. I’m very happy with how I am treated. More

Padding the bill whenever possible Took 2015 Subaru Outback in for 30,000 mile tune up with 11 am prescheduled on-line appt. Arrived @ 11, no waiting. Explained cargo cover was stuck, Took 2015 Subaru Outback in for 30,000 mile tune up with 11 am prescheduled on-line appt. Arrived @ 11, no waiting. Explained cargo cover was stuck, and unable to slide shut. Initially told would be 2.5 hrs, so asked shuttle driver to take me to nearby Wegman’s. Had lovely lunch, and relaxed. After 2 hrs, service department phoned, saying cargo cover unable to repair, replacement costing $200. Knowing mechanics of part not complicated, declined. Other services recommended were front wheel alignment, air induction service, & front & rear differential service. Declined all these services, as all services combined would cost approximately $1,000. After service had vehicle for 3 hrs, I phoned & they said would be another 1 to 1.5 hrs to be ready. I phoned again @ 4:30 for shuttle pick up, even though vehicle still not ready. when I arrived, remarkably vehicle was ready. Jokingly explained was glad I didn’t have additional service done, or I’d have needed to leave the vehicle overnight. When I got home, I took cargo cover bar out, and discovered a piece of very sticky felt tape preventing the cover from opening. Once removed, wha la, cover operated perfectly. I feel tape put in place by factory to prevent cargo bar from shifting. Bottom line, mechanic in service department never removed nor inspected the cargo cover bar underside to determine a centered piece of felt prevented operating smoothly. Here again, I was a woman bringing in my vehicle for a 30,000 mile checkup (mileage @ 28,192) and here again, never again. I should have known better, and taken my vehicle to Dulles Shell for service, but since was 30,000, thought best done by dealership. Dulles Shell has always been honest and worked on vehicle at scheduled time slot, as had done service on my prior vehicles, with no surprises. I finally left Stohlman Sterling service department after paying $700.09 (included $25 coupon). I returned next day & dropped off piece of sticky felt for service manager to know how mechanic was deceitful about cargo cover. More
