This car was located at Stohlman Subaru of Sterling. I immediately sent an "im interested" email, and 30 min later I received a phone call from Randy Zemany. Since I was coming from Maryland, they held the car for me until I arrived. It was a very simple process! I showed up, test drove the car, and was home in a few hours. Customer Service was amazing form everyone! The only problem was that my MD tags were not shipped and I was instructed (through mail) to come to the dealership to pick them up. This was not convenient, nor possible as I leave the country in 2 days. I called the number on the mail and Charlie answered the phone. Within minutes I was assured I would have my tags overnight-ed. Everything was so easy, inexpensive, and smooth. I am really satisfied with this dealership and its staff! I highly recommend! More

Good, friendly, experienced customer service I bought a used car there today and dealt with salesman Randy Zemany. He was professional, courteous, and experienced. When I inquired online a day I bought a used car there today and dealt with salesman Randy Zemany. He was professional, courteous, and experienced. When I inquired online a day earlier, he was the one that responded within 1 hour. We spoke on the phone about the car and I made an appointment to come in. He was ready for me, had the car out front, and didn't waste time showing me the vehicle. I didn't feel pressured, and he was very knowledgable about the car. He was very personable and I enjoyed dealing with him. The dealership is very modern, and has a nice customer waiting area including water cooler and other refreshments. Overall I had a very positive experience, and I highly recommend Randy Zemany as a certified sales consultant. More

It was a Saturday and my wife needs her car for work during the week because it has the sticker for her downtown parking. I called Service Manager Tom Wimmer and explained that even though there was a 15-day grace period for making repairs, I wanted to have the car serviced that day if possible. Tom was able to fit me in and even gave me a free loaner for Saturday errands. The car was ready that afternoon before the service department closed at 4pm. I worked with service rep Heather Thomas in processing the car in and out and she was a real pleasure to work with. The team at Stohlman of Sterling is laid back and fun to deal with and I recommend them to all Subaru owners for your service needs. More

Never again Initially my salesman was extremely nice and helpful, once the deal started to get worked on though it was complete chaos, awful communication, and la Initially my salesman was extremely nice and helpful, once the deal started to get worked on though it was complete chaos, awful communication, and lack of education on the product. Then once the car was sold to me, I have honestly never been treated so rudely at any business much less a car dealer. I went in knowing exactly what I wanted, with perfectly reasonable pricing expectations knowing that there was a little bit of room, but also understanding that people need to make money to keep businesses open and clothes on backs. All i wanted was a quick and easy process in the little free time I had available to make it happen. I would have thought that'd be a dealerships dream? The communication between salesman to me and salesman to other departments there was appalling. I reached out to Sohlman off of their website, where the car was listed at a certain price, and within 60 seconds I received an email from the salesman saying he'd be happy to help and could give me a special price today of XXXXX.XX, which happened to be ~$800 MORE than the price on their website. After setting things straight and moving forward, It would often take hours to get a response to further questions, if I got a response to it at all, and then when I came in to sign things and do the deal, I was met with complete confusion and back-tracking. At one point the salesman even asked "are you sure this is the car you wanted?". Keep in mind, every email exchanged had the stock number of the car, and every in-person conversation was done SITTING NEXT TO THE CAR in the showroom. It was a very specific car, not a general Outback or something. Finally i'm brought some paperwork to look things over and the car price is back to his special rate of ~$800 over the price they show on their website... So once the salesman and I got on the same page about numbers and options and every detail, he takes the needed info to run my credit, comes back and gives me the stellar news and what my rate options are. I tell him what i want to go with, and he hands me off to the financing guy to finish things up. Well I find out pretty quick that there was ZERO communication between departments, and not only am I being sold the same things we had just discussed all over again, but i'm told that they can't give me the financing options that my salesman just gave me, and they cant sell me the car for the price he just gave me... Turns out that my salesman never even ran my credit, and just printed out typical Subaru financing options, and for the term that I wanted changed the rate to what I told him I get through my credit union (I keep that as a backup, but if the dealer is the same its just an easier process to use them.). Needless to say I decide to go with my CU. The CU step should be pretty painless, the dealer is supposed to send them what i'm buying and the CU sends them an approval and puts the check in the mail. I'll skip all the laborious details on this, but as you can imagine Stohlman turned this step into a wild goose chase. I was getting multiple calls and emails from my CU saying that they weren't receiving things they needed from the dealership. Do these guys just not want to sell cars?! OK, so FINALLY we get through that, I go in to sign papers and take my car home. Guess whats back on? The extra money from that "special deal" he could give me. Fortunately, this financing person I was dealing with was super helpful and go things taken care of in 60 seconds and I was ALMOST out the door, just needed to go sign a few things in a different part of the office. All said and done there was an extra $100 over the credit union check, so the guy took my credit card info to pay the difference and I was on my way! But then the real trouble started... I travel a lot for work, and the dealership isn't really near where I live or work, hence why I was trying to take care of as much as possible before going in, so it was very important that I had everything handled at once. Well, I had made the mistake of leaving my garage door opener and front license plate in my trade, and my salesman emailed me saying he had that for me in his desk whenever I could swing by and grab it. Great! The new guy who I signed the tags/title/final paperwork with never actually did anything with my credit card or the extra $100. Well of course, I start getting calls and emails saying I need to come in to pay the extra $100. What?!?! So I tell him that I hope to be back in town X date and can take care of it then. Then my salesman starts calling and sending emails saying the same thing. Obviously they don't communicate. So I tell him the same thing. Eventually I just say "Hey isn't there some sort of online invoice you can send me that I can pay or something so you can get your $100?" "Sure ill send it right over". Really? This was that easy? Well no, because it never came. As this drags on I realize my temp tag is about to expire, so I email and say "Hey, my tags haven't arrived, what's taking so long?", their reply:"Oh we'll you haven't paid the $100 yet so we haven't processed anything"... I feel like this should have been very important information for me to know, and I could have tried OTHER alternate methods to remedy the situation, but of course it was never communicated. I guess that's my fault. So of course I remind Sohlman that they took down my CC info, and they also were supposed to send me an online way to pay, but whatever. Fortunately my schedule lined up where I was able to physically be there soon after and pay this, pick up my garage opener and plate, and also get a new temp tag. Up until this point in the experience, I wasn't even going to waste my time writing a bad review, I just wanted it all to be over and done with. But after being treated the way I was when I came back in, i'll be happy to write 100 of these. I pull into the parking lot and as I do I see my salesman and say "Hey there!" out of my window, thinking he'd be relieved to see me to settle the final piece. He gives me a hello as if he's never seen me before, ok thats fine i'm sure i'm totally out of context in the situation. As i come into the showroom towards him I say Hey again but before I can even finish the hello he's aggressively telling me "I cant help you, I cant help you, you have to go talk to so and so". I begin to say "I need my garage opener and front plate, but again he clips me and says "I cant help you, i'm with a customer I cant help you". I am able to stop him to tell him calmly that I just need him to give me the stuff he had of mine, and he make s a little show of going to his desk and hands me my garage opener. I begin to ask about the plate and again am stonewalled that he's done all he can and has customers and doesn't want to help me any longer. Of course all of this is middle of the day on a Saturday in front of customers. At this point im totally floored at what im seeing and how this grown man is acting towards me. I'm really just trying to get my stuff you said you had, plus avoid the MVA fine of not being able to turn in my plates. I finally had to match his aggression and remind him of how much he pleaded with me to give him and Stohlman a good review when Subaru emails me, despite all the craziness that I dealt with, and that theres no need to be so rude with me that i'm just there to get my stuff and take care of this $100. He fusses and begins to sort of escort me to the other building to handle the rest, although he never actually tells me what he's doing or that i'm supposed to be following him, so I just follow and hope he doesn't freak out that i'm following. I will say... The NEW person in this saga that handled the credit card swipe (right in front of me I might add) and gave me my new temp tag, was very pleasant and couldn't have been easier to deal with. In all my joy that it was all finally over, I completely forgot about my tag being held hostage. I'll be sending my salesman and Stohlman the MVA bill along with a copy of his email saying he had it :) But don't worry Stohlman, you got your good review at Subaru. Fortunately for you their email came through right as I was happily driving my new car. More
