I recently took my beloved Subaru STI to the Stohlman dealership, and was helped by Victor Iglesias. This is a really well run shop and Victor is exceptional, he was very clear about the repairs, provide dealership, and was helped by Victor Iglesias. The service department is just a hassle to deal with(Mario Baten). I had a brand new car with bunch of issues. They are least bothered to address your issues. Set an appointment for a little service. Took our much loved Subaru in. Grabbed one of their bikes, just like I've heard advertised on the radio and rode the trail. Worst Service Visit Ever. This review is for the service department, specificity the service advisor, Jack Smith. I brought my 2018 GTI in this morning to have the drivers seat This review is for the service department, specificity the service advisor, Jack Smith. I brought my 2018 GTI in this morning to have the drivers seat looked at because the seat bottom was creaking loudly when making turns at low speeds or when shifting in the seat. I am from Maryland and this dealership is by no means close to me, but I made the trip first thing this morning out to Tyson’s because they were the highest rated VW dealership in the DMV and I am very particular about who services my car. I made the appointment with Marcus but was told when I arrived at 7am that he was not in today and they instead put me with Jack Smith. Right off the bat he didn’t introduce himself and blatantly asked, “why are you here?”. I told him my concerns and that I made an appointment. He put me on a test drive with the shop foreman who confirmed the noise I was hearing. I was fully prepared to wait a few hours while they looked at the seat, though upon arriving back at the dealer, Jack came out, sat in my drivers seat and turned to me and said, “it’s a GTI, they make noises. That’s the kind of car you bought.” I’ve had the car 7 months and only have 3,000 miles on it. I refuse to believe that that was normal and I was shocked that a service advisor basically told me that it was a normal occurrence and that they could do little to nothing about it. I told him that I couldn’t believe his response, how dismissive he was about my concern and took my keys and left. I decided that, since I took the day off from work to get this issue addressed, to drive back to Maryland to VW of Laurel where I leased the car from originally and get a second opinion. Within 30 mins of my being there they had road tested the car, confirmed the noise, and had 3 technicians looking at the seat to get an idea as to what it was. Turns out the frame of the seat bottom was the cause and they ordered a replacement and will be covering it at no cost. I will never forget how dismissive and basically rude Jack was to me and will never be going back, for service or otherwise, to Stohlman VW. More
Won back a lost customer Wow, extremely good customer service. I came in for an oil change and it took way longer than expected. I was not pleased at all and rather upset at the time. Even though I came here in the past for services, I was so displeased that I vowed never to come here again. Then today I got a phone call from Stohlmans saying they were sorry it took so long and offered me a full refund. I have never experienced a company that would do that before! Thanks for looking after your customers Stohlman. To me, this lets me know that they do in fact care about their customer and must have just had some kind of rare delay that day. I will come back again and appreciate the extra effort to keep customers happy. Very pleased with this dealership! More

I recently brought in a 2012 Subaru Legacy that turned out to have a pretty major I want to recognize Heather Thomas for outstanding customer service. I recently brought in a 2012 Subaru Legacy that turned out to have a pretty major problem. The torque converter was replaced. I was slightly past warranty, but the dealership took care of me. The loaner car provided by the dealership made the process painless. I'm back in my car now and everything is great. I told Heather that my dream car is a new WRX. In a few years when I make that purchase, I will plan to come to Stohlman. This experience made me really happy. They are running a great business. Heather's colleague Jasmine was also super friendly and helpful. Everyone there treated me very well. More
They have won my business from now on! I visited Stohlman Automotive on 7/15/2017 to drop off my 2015 Subaru WRX for its 30,000 mile maintenance. My appointment time was at 8:00am I arrived I visited Stohlman Automotive on 7/15/2017 to drop off my 2015 Subaru WRX for its 30,000 mile maintenance. My appointment time was at 8:00am I arrived promptly and was checked right in with a smile. Everyone on staff that interacted with was professional, treated me with respect and made me feel right at home. My service was performed as requested, they vacuumed my car out (not one of those quick vacuum but you could tell they took their time to make sure it was a good job). Victor Iglesias called my cell phone once my car was complete. I returned to pick up my car and finished up my appointment with Victor who took his time to explain to me what all was done as part of the maintenance, that everything went great and there were no issues. This was my second time using this service department and they have won my business from now on! More

Stohlman was where I purchased this vehicle, and I've been dealing with Joe for the past 11 years. I couldn't believe the 2 negative reviews on this site, because Joe has been anything but rude/unprofessional! For the past 2-3 months, I was waiting for the right color combination of a 2017 VW Passat 3.6L (black/beige). Unfortunately, I couldn't wait much longer since my 18 year old son was driving my existing VW everyday. Sadly, I ended up buying another brand... Obviously, my wish to purchase another VW proves that I enjoyed driving it, but big part of the reasons for wanting purchase another VW was because of Joe's excellent, unparalleled service! I've had great experiences at Stohlman throughout the entire 11 years of my VW ownership. I am happy that I will still get to deal with Stohlman & Joe, at least, for my son's car :) More
WORST EXPERIENCE!!! I have taken my vw on 3 time in 2 years for the same part. fisrt of all the last time I brought the vw in they went ahead and did the service without I have taken my vw on 3 time in 2 years for the same part. fisrt of all the last time I brought the vw in they went ahead and did the service without my ok. then they call me to tell me that the vw is ready. when I went in the service advisor explained that whoever installed the part damaged it. I proceeded to tell him they were the ones who installed it, now for a 3rd time. He told me to talk with Joe Lishman I repeatedly tried to contact him and I never received a returned call. I finally reached him and explained what I was told. He was very rude and denied that was what was wrong and told me he should have never worked on my car. Joe is a very unprofessional manager and extremely rude. If you want great service and a friendly helpful staff that won't cheat you of you money, DON'T GO TO STOHLMANS OF TYSONS!!! If you do and you have to deal with Joe, you will be treated horribly!!! More
