Stohlman was where I purchased this vehicle, and I've been dealing with Joe for the past 11 years. I couldn't believe the 2 negative reviews on this site, because Joe has been anything but rude/unprofessional! For the past 2-3 months, I was waiting for the right color combination of a 2017 VW Passat 3.6L (black/beige). Unfortunately, I couldn't wait much longer since my 18 year old son was driving my existing VW everyday. Sadly, I ended up buying another brand... Obviously, my wish to purchase another VW proves that I enjoyed driving it, but big part of the reasons for wanting purchase another VW was because of Joe's excellent, unparalleled service! I've had great experiences at Stohlman throughout the entire 11 years of my VW ownership. I am happy that I will still get to deal with Stohlman & Joe, at least, for my son's car :) More

Solid experience with Stohlman Subaru I had not been especially happy with my experience buying and maintaining a VW Jetta "clean" diesel TDI at Stohlman VW, so I approached Stohlman Subar I had not been especially happy with my experience buying and maintaining a VW Jetta "clean" diesel TDI at Stohlman VW, so I approached Stohlman Subaru with skepticism. Nevertheless, Consumer Reports raves about all Subaru models and Tysons is convenient for me, so my husband and I decided to pay them a visit. Eli Mel(tzer) was both helpful and patient from the moment we walked in the door. He helped us understand the new safety technologies (some of which are great but not totally intuitive in operation yet) and took us on test drives that enabled us to understand the virtues of the available models. We peppered him with questions from most imaginable angles, and he was very knowledgeable (and again, patient). When he did not have an answer, he was honest, made a note of the issue and followed up. It was a pleasure to work with him. We liked the new model Forester so much that we did not feel the need to continue our search: we bought it that day after doing a bit of research into pricing ranges in our zip code. The 0% financing option was also helpful and the finance department representative was informative but not pushy. We maintain and keep our cars, so we also included 3 years of service and a warranty in the amount financed. When we ran out of time to finish getting to know the car on the day of purchase, Eli made himself available on 2 other days when I was in the dealership's neighborhood to meet with me and explain how to operate various features. I would highly recommend requesting him the next time you are in the market for a Subaru. We started corresponding with Alan online. We had a particular car in mind and set up a test drive appointment. Alan had the car pulled into the first parking spot and was ready for us at our scheduled time. He accompanied us on the test drive and had a very specific route picked out so that we could test all the features of the car. Alan was very interested in making sure we were getting a car that fit our needs. We never felt pressured to buy from him, but after our test drive we WANTED to buy from him! We had already shopped around and had a completely different experience at another dealership (no one went on a test drive with us, we had to find our salesperson each time we took another vehicle out to drive, the salesperson seemed very disinterested in our business.) What I was most impressed with, was that Stohlman empowered Alan to negotiate with us directly; no hand-off to a sales manager. Alan was able to give us a fair price in about 2 minutes. It was incredibly refreshing to skip the haggling portion of the car buying process! In total from pulling onto the lot, to driving away in our new car, the entire experience was about 4 hours.
