Eli at Stohlman's delivered. A young, dedicated, highly motivated young man with half his life dedicated to driving his early model Subaru to the Subaru dealership where he works, he knows his business. I caught him at an inopportune moment, a random call into the dealership, mid-week, when things are expected to be slow, he catches the receptionist call at first ring. Wow, was that an answering machine? No, that was Eli. So, I asked, "so, I take it you can prep a stock number I had in mind for viewing. Really, you will reserve it for me? Like now? You mean it is in Tysons? Not in some offsite you have to get to? Oh." Hmmm, that's different. An hour later, me and my wife are in the stock model we picked from the internet inventory. Don't know a thing about the electronic contraptions surrounding us. The world has changed. What? My wife have to pair her phone now? Why? Oh, that's the way it is now a days. A dang good thing a bright young kid is explaining all this. Real bright. The stock car already took in all the identity information from my wife, I guess it is ready for test drive. Eli, you gotta be kidding, you expect an hour and a half for financing? Really? Then what, you are going to release the car to us that hasn't even been car washed yet? Oh you will? You personally will? Wow, a motivated young man. Wow, the manager tells me my credit is good. Real good. I can drive to car out now. Like now. That's after a real quick trade-in. After hours. Hmmm, how did that happen. Wish the Hill worked that way. I must be dreaming. A dang good car though. It just have to be paired to death for it to work with you. Then it takes Eli to ram all them info down your throat as you are ready to drive out, at closing. Actually 15 past closing. Real good. Them Stohlman people stole my heart. Easy on the wallet this week. It's a good thing Eli was manning the phone at 4 in the afternoon. More

I normally dread dealing with car dealers because of the usual obvious downsides of that type of ex Buying a car from Alan was a wonderful experience. I normally dread dealing with car dealers because of the usual obvious downsides of that type of experience. Over the years I found that only BMW or Mercedes dealers manage to avoid engaging in the typical high-pressure sales tactics and outright lying. Alan was even better. He was upfront, courteous and gave me a very competitive price with no pressure to buy whatsoever. I test drove the car, left the dealership and it took me quite a while to make up my mind about buying that car. While I was mulling it over for a couple of months, Alan did not flood my voicemail and email with constant reminders about himself (unlike every other dealer I met, some of which kept calling by me on a daily basis for several weeks at a stretch) -- I think that was one of the biggest factors in my decision to buy from Alan. When it came time to buy the price he gave was the price I paid and there was no pressure regarding the usual nonsense of extended warranties and undercoating :). The dealership also processed the paperwork very quickly. It was a very pleasant experience in all regards. More

We had gotten into some pretty serious negotiations with a few other dealerships but had to walk away because they just weren't budging on price and would not throw in any extras. Not even floor mats...FLOOR MATS?!? Are you kidding, that's what you're supposed to get for free. When we found a vehicle at Stolman's we emailed and coordinated a time to test-drive. We were only able to visit at a specific date/time, and Kelvin came in on his day off to show us the Forester. He was very honest on the phone and in person. The car was immaculate and he threw in all kinds of extras, including floor mats which we didn't even ask for. After the test drive and working with Kelvin, we were passed to Anson the finances/title/license guy and that was just as smooth. Anson got everything processed in the time promised and continued communication the whole way through. Stolman's was a breeze. So helpful, low pressure, very accommodating.
