We had such a great experience the first time that we purchased recently another car from Alex. He is attentive, patient, and a great resource in helping us choose the car. Very Bad Experience I started my car search on the internet and was contacted by Billy (sales consultant) via email. I was looking at a specific used car and asked about verifying mileage when I was told that the true odometer reading was over 10,000 miles higher than what is listed on their own website inventory. I thought it had to be a typo and decided to go to the dealer anyway since it’s very close to my job. Upon getting there and asking about it again I was told that the mileage was always the higher number (40,000 not 30,000). Billy didn’t seem concerned at all that the site/listing was wrong or interested in correcting it and I should’ve left then. I expressed my disappointment and said that I wasn’t interested in the car then because it was outside the terms of my pre-approved financing which I explained was for a 2016-2017 model with less than 30,000 miles. We discussed my budget and despite telling Billy several times that I had some wiggle room, he proceeded to show me a 2015 Honda Odyssey and shrugged off the fact that it was outside of my loan terms even when I explained that it would make my interest rate go up. Since he showed me a 2015 Subaru as well I was basically told that for my budget, this was the best I could do, settle for a higher interest rate on an older model vehicle. So glad I got out of there and went to Honda where the sales consultant and manager both told me that there is a recall on all 2010-2016 Honda Odyssey vehicles for an airbag repair and the fix isn’t available yet so no dealership should offer to sell me one. I don’t know if it’s the particular salesman I dealt with but I won’t make the mistake of going there again. More
Another great experience at Stohlman This is by far one of the best dealerships I have ever been to. I have been coming to Stohlman's since 2012 and will continue to come there for my VW This is by far one of the best dealerships I have ever been to. I have been coming to Stohlman's since 2012 and will continue to come there for my VW and Subaru needs. I worked directly with Kenny Smith and Dennis Chen (sales consultant) and they were true superstars. I previously worked with Stephan Sagbo and he had set the bar very high but I am pleased to say Kenny and Dennis did not dissapoint. Kenny reached out to me via email about returning my leased vehicle and getting a good deal on a replacement. I had wanted to upgrade the trim level of my jetta and Kenny was able to quickly get me some numbers or how much more it would cost. He stuck true to his word and several hours later I was in Stohlman test driving the two options I was looking at (GLI and SE Sport). Both of the vehicles were ready for me when I got there and Dennis was ready for me immediately. When it came time for the paperwork the numbers on the paper matched what Kenny had quoted me and there was 0 haggling involved or necessary. Dennis made the experience great and I was able to drive home with my new Jetta SE later that day. I had forgotten my maryland license plates with my prior lease trade in and Dennis made the trek all the way to Rockville to return them to me just so I wouldnt have to fight the VA traffic to get them. Talk about customer service! Hue was great and when he noticed that there was an error with the contract he reached out himself to ensure I would get the correct price back to me. These guys are great and if you are looking for a wonderful experience with knowledgeable people who are genuinely good human beings - this is the place to go to. Two of my colleagues purchased vehicles here, a 2013 subaru STI and a 2015 Subaru crosstrek and I will continue recommending Stohlman to anyone looking for a quality experience. 5 Stars! More

I had visited another dealership in the area and the salesperson had no idea that a Touareg TDI even existed. This experience almost turned me off from VW entirely. I then stumbled upon Stohlman's and spoke with a young gentleman by the name of Stephen Kappler. He was extremely patient and informative about the TDI settlement process and timeline for Touaregs and 3.0l vehicles for sale. His enthusiasm for the brand and professionalism are what turned the entire experience around for me. We exchanged information and my wife and I are excited to hopefully take delivery of our Touareg in 2018. More
Complete Waste of Time After having a great experience leasing a GTI from Stohlman in 2015, I returned for help with a new lease after getting an offer from Kenny Smith for After having a great experience leasing a GTI from Stohlman in 2015, I returned for help with a new lease after getting an offer from Kenny Smith for a repeat customer dealer incentive. Unfortunately, the salesperson I worked with last time no longer worked at this dealership. I should have taken this as my first bad sign. I tried reaching out to Kenny regarding his letter but never got a response - I should have taken this as a second bad sign! Nevertheless, after speaking with Steven Kappler over the phone, I was assured that I could use the dealer incentive together with the factory-to-dealer incentives being advertised on their website. When I arrived at the dealership, I was quoted a price for a Jetta SEL that was both hilarious and insulting. When I mentioned both the dealer incentive and the advertised price, William Brayer, the salesperson I was working with pretended to not know about either. To add insult to injury, they asserted that the price they were quoting me was the same as my current payment; apparently being a repeat customer means you don't qualify for sales prices! Since it was obvious to me that this team was determined to waste my time and lie to me, I walked out and bought a Honda Civic. I am not sure what changed at this dealership over the last three years, but my recommendation is to stay away from Stohlman, and take your business to dealerships that have integrity. More

At the end of the da I just wanted to thank Harry H. Kim and Hesham Kamal for your excellent service during our purchased of a new 2017 VW Tiguan SUV. At the end of the day we left the dealership with a good feeling that is very important for business and customer service, which you two made it happened for us. Hesham and Harry were very Helpful and Cooperative! Really appreciated! More
Quite excellent indeed (Updated: Nope, just average.) Update 10/30/17: Unfortunately I've been forced to downgrade my initial stellar review to a more neutral one. The reason is my latest experience with Update 10/30/17: Unfortunately I've been forced to downgrade my initial stellar review to a more neutral one. The reason is my latest experience with this dealership. I've purchased VW Care and Care Plus with my GTI at the time of purchase and the one thing that had tipped the scales for me (initially I was pretty skeptical about getting additional warranty since I don't put that many miles on my cars) was the promise of being able to get a refund should I change my mind later on, even on a prorated basis if some portion of it has been used. Since then I've realized that $699 for 3 oil changes and basic inspections is far from what VW claims to be "competitively priced." The $699 Care Plus package is worth it but my car won't be seeing 40K during my time of ownership. I've contacted the dealership about the refund twice now - online and by phone, both times having been promised an appropriate person would contact me and they never did. I've waited long enough since my initial attempt before writing this review. Worse still, I've done some research and according to VW's guidelines its Care and Care Plus packages are non-refundable, meaning I have been misled by my finance person. Pretty disappointing. I still have a lot of respect for Steven Kappler but the dealership overall gets a C-. --- Original review: After having read tons of positive feedback about this dealership and in particular their salesperson Steven Kappler on VW enthusiast forums I drove for more than 4 hours from New York to purchase my GTI from them. And I was not disappointed in the slightest. Steven Kappler has done absolutely everything in his power to make sure I got the exact car I wanted and at a very reasonable price. So has their finance person Misha Andrews, who went over every aspect of the deal with me and made sure all my questions were answered and concerns addressed. And finally, the overall laid-back no-stress atmosphere was the cherry on the cake. No weird intimidation techniques, no trying to change the terms of the deal once I got in, this may very well be about as close to the perfect car dealership experience as it can get. More

Selection: they have a much better inventory of cars than the other dealerships that we contacted. Honesty: Alex was very sincere throughout our visit and there was never any bait-and-switch, fine print, or hidden fees on our purchase. Service: Alex made us feel important, and not just another sale, while being very knowledgeable about all aspects of the Outback we purchased. Price: Stohlman's price was so competitive that we felt no need to continue shopping anywhere else. Alex was able to match the best price we found on the local marketplace and make our new car dream come true! Both Alex Yakovlev and Stohlman Subaru are highly recommended. More

Very bad purchasing experience_BE CAREFUL Update: The matter has since been addressed and resolved. I had very bad purchasing experiences two weeks ago. I find people on many review website Update: The matter has since been addressed and resolved. I had very bad purchasing experiences two weeks ago. I find people on many review websites report the same trick they do on me. They asked me to test drive and then told me the car was sold out. They tried the so-called "bait and switch" trick and tried to sell me other cars with very bad offers. Afterwards, they sent me several apologies and said they would like to send me a gift card (I didn't accept it). I sincerely accepted their apologies and then found other people reported very similar experiences I had with them. So I realized they might be taking advantage of the low-cost apologies to support them to continue the "bait and switch" scheme. My personal experience with them made me very angry and sad, so I try to let other buyers be more careful. If you consider to buy their car, please read the comments here and think twice!! If I had read the comments carefully, I would not ask my friends to spend 5 hours in driving me to their store and back. More
