I find people on many review website Update: The matter has since been addressed and resolved. I had very bad purchasing experiences two weeks ago. I find people on many review websites report the same trick they do on me. They asked me to test drive and then told me the car was sold out. They tried the so-called "bait and switch" trick and tried to sell me other cars with very bad offers. Afterwards, they sent me several apologies and said they would like to send me a gift card (I didn't accept it). I sincerely accepted their apologies and then found other people reported very similar experiences I had with them. So I realized they might be taking advantage of the low-cost apologies to support them to continue the "bait and switch" scheme. My personal experience with them made me very angry and sad, so I try to let other buyers be more careful. If you consider to buy their car, please read the comments here and think twice!! If I had read the comments carefully, I would not ask my friends to spend 5 hours in driving me to their store and back. More

Need to know more -- I spent some time looking at various vehicles and then decided on a Subaru CrossTtrek Limited. I went to a few dealerships and perused their inventories looking for the right car. Then, I visited Stohlman. Boris came over to check in and discussed the vehicles they had. No pressure, just a good chat. He found the car I was looking for in their lot and brought it out so I could take it for a test drive. I left, very impressed, with the car, the dealership and with Boris. He seemed like a guy you could work out a fair deal with. I returned with my Kids to have them check out the vehicle and he again accommodated me. Finally, we got down to brass tacks and started negotiating. It took a bit of give and take but we made a deal and I got a great price. After purchasing the car, I had a bit of confusion in operation of the weather info on the satellite navigation. Boris, friendly as ever, endeavored to get me checked out by the service folks to make sure everything was working. It was and I appreciated the white glove treatment. More

I gave Richie the best price and he called me back 5 minutes later. Stohlman Automotive beat the best price by enough that I turned the car around and "crossed the bridge to Virginia". More

As a Honda/Acura driver with the experience of having owned a Toyota Camry as well, it was Chris' knowledge and sales style that convinced me to buy my Subaru Outback 2017 from Stohlman. Chris has been in the industry for over 25 years and worked for Acura in the past. He was able to make me aware of issues with the various brands I was looking at including Subaru to give me a clear picture of what I might expect. As much as I wanted to get a Honda Pilot, he was dead on about disappointed new car buyer with defective 2015/16 Pilots - I couldn't afford to deal with a dead car again. Chris did a great job on the test drive to show the true capabilities of the Subaru. Toyota dealer showed me turn of the Highlander in a wide open parking lot, Chris let me do a super tight 360 in a spot my MDX could have never handled. I have used the Costco Auto Program before and was worried when I called Chris to let him know about a competing offer for a dealership in MD. No problem for Chris, he beat their offer. Loving my new ride and dealership experience to date ... $50 gas card bonus this week was also a nice unexpected touch. Thanks Chris and Stohlman!!!! More
Extremely Poor Sales Team I tried to buy a new Subaru from Stohlman's web site. For three weeks, I patiently worked with a a sales guy, then called, left voicemails and emailed I tried to buy a new Subaru from Stohlman's web site. For three weeks, I patiently worked with a a sales guy, then called, left voicemails and emailed both the sales manager and general sales manager, Jaime Dent. After three weeks of price changes (after the salesman and I had agreed to a price), waiting three to four days for email responses (I never did hear from Ms. Dent to either my voicemail or emails), I finally called off the deal. Seems a shame when the only party trying to close the deal is the customer. I had insurance and the credit union loan all lined up, but simply could not get this terrible sales team to pull their part together. I dropped the deal and went and bought the exact same car from another dealer four hours later. More

I was corresponding with a sales rep about a certified used car which was priced great. Scheduled to have my spouse go in and take a test drive. The receptionist forgot to tell the sales rep that we had arrived, waited for 45 minutes. Finally get around to test driving the car. Perfect. No need to negotiate, we were ready to buy. Start filling out the application and are abruptly told THE CAR WAS ALREADY SOLD. Left unhappy obviously because we wasted so much time and were clearly serious about buying. The sales rep emails and apologizes, says he'll make it up to us. I point out the most comparable car they had which was priced a little higher, told him what our budget was, said he would see if he could make it work. Never heard back. Get a survey asking how our experience was and replied back honestly. The manager replies back apologizing again. Told him the car we were were interested in, what our budget was again, and to make it work. By the way, the car we are now asking about is also used, certified pre-owned, and has been sitting on their lot for over 100 days, you'd think they'd use this as an opportunity to get rid of it. Nope. He tells us we have to increase our budget by 25% to get a car. No attempt to rectify the situation, just a list of cars that priced 25-50% higher and saying we need to up our budget. Fast forward a few days later, today, and that car is still on their lot and they dropped the price again. Still not enough. But definitely makes you wonder the legitimacy of this dealerships sales tactics. More
