It started with the sales associate, Dave Ashbaugh, who refused to provide service when I arrived at 6PM to look at vehicles on the lot. He was wandering around the lot when I asked for assistance. He was very abrupt and nasty telling me that they were already closed. This came as a surprise because I called in advance to confirm operating hours and was told 7 PM. You should know that minutes later I drove down to the office area only to find a showroom full of people who confirmed, “We close at 7 pm.” I immediately spoke with the general manager, Shane Lance. I couldn’t understand why this employee lied about closing time and was blatantly refusing to help me when that was his job. I can’t describe the lack of respect and disregard that was so much wrapped up in this workers disposition and the look on his face. All to say, the general manager agreed that it should not have happened, he would addresss the matter and he would let me know the outcome. To be sure that this incident was not overlooked, I relayed it all in an email to the owner, John Stivers, and copied Shane Lance. The results: 1. Never heard a word. No response to my email. 2. I called today, 4 days later, to speak with the owner, John Stivers. He answered and I identified myself as the CUSTOMER who sent the email last week... His response was dry and dismissive. He told me that it was not my concern how he runs his business. What?? No apology. No acknowledgement that the treatment I received was unacceptable. Nothing anyone would expect from the highest level of authority at a place of business. Wow! My only recourse at this point is to tell my story to as many people as possible. More
I made a huge mistake buying from Stivers Subaru I purchased a car on October 7th but I was lied to and treated very poorly. The salesman said it was the best price but I talked with 2 dealerships later and found I paid a much higher price. They say prices sells cars at Stiver but they don't say it is a good price. The dealership had no brochures for the forester which I was depending on to make my decisions. I had to wait 2 hours to talk to a salesman and then he had no time to finish so we finished our discussion on Monday. He failed to answer several questions and seemed to be in a hurry to move on to the next sale. This is a high volume dealer who in my opinion gives poor customer service because they have no time for the customers. I went back to finish the deal on Wednesday but he had no time for me. The car was very dirty and showed marks from the wrap they use in shipping. I was happy to find they didn't bother to put a Stiver sticker on my car. I have since gone to Kennesaw Subaru where they cleaned the car properly and helped me get some accessories I wanted. Kennesaw also repaired some small problems I had with the car. I will pass several Subaru dealerships and drive 30 miles to go to Kennesaw Subaru where I get good service. More

Excellent Recall issue. Lydia Carroll is the only advisor I use at Drivers in Decatur. Had regular service done at the same time in and out 90 minutes. This Recall issue. The rudest, most mixed up service department I have seen Long story, but here are some lowlights: 2 appt. confirmations sent, 1 for 10:00 and 1 for 10:45. Both were for the wrong issue. Extremely rude, adversarial treatment form the service rep. She actually asked me if my car had been in a wreck when I mentioned the manufacturing error found by a competitor. She hadn't even seen the car, it only has about 30K miles, is well cared for and kept in a garage. Got "no show" calls and e-mails for the appointment I showed up for ON TIME. Filled out a survey and got a phone call from the person I complained about saying wanting to know why I complained. No apology. There's more, but this is getting long. More

HORRIBLE DEALERSHIP!! I inquired about an internet price and the response was, not a price but a sales pitch. I proceeded to give them my offer and the response was basical I inquired about an internet price and the response was, not a price but a sales pitch. I proceeded to give them my offer and the response was basically that I was NUTS and should go to Carmax to see what they would give me for my car. There was no negotiation or counter offer. I was met with an extremely rude and condescending response which quickly turned very ugly. The owner of this dealership is equally as bad, if not worse. He actually threatened me!! Russ Fineman (sale director) and Johnny Stivers (owner) are the worst but if you want to be treated like this, by all means, buy from them. I went to another dealership. I was treated kindly and fairly and with respect. I made a great deal and got the same car I tried to buy from Stivers. I wouldn't recommend this dealership to my worst enemy!! More
Went in to address a factory recall. I love the ease of addressing general maintenance other fixes ( I was there for a recall notice on the fuel gauge) at Stivers in Decatur. I got there a bit early and they were able to take me right away! I didn’t really get into my book before they were finished with my car. The new and improved waiting area is awesome!! Thanks! More
