I was the stupid one that stayed. Even when he'd pass me in the waiting area, I was lucky to get a grunt out of him. He is definitely hurting your business, getting you low scores on surveys, and losing several customers on the spot or preventing them from coming again. As a prior leader myself, I would immediately confront his behavior. If he's been counseled before, then coach him out. I'm confident you aren't this desperate for service employees.
