Jeremy was great. Knew his stuff and wasn't pushy. He went above and beyond to make sure I was happy and to make sure I had a car I would be happy with but not forceful about it. He was real. So, I bought a 2014 Toyota FJ through an Auto Broker who purchased the car from Stevenson Toyota East. Upon purchase, we took the car on a road trip to Taos, New Mexico from Denver. While in Taos, our new purchased the car from Stevenson Toyota East. Upon purchase, we took the car on a road trip to Taos, New Mexico from Denver. While in Taos, our new FJ, with less than 500 miles, ran into problems. While driving, the power steering blew out and I was unable to steer the car. Thankfully, we were in town at the time and able to get to a parking lot. When we checked the car, the power steering fluid was completely empty. It was bone dry. Upon finding this out, I added power steering fluid and drove back to the hotel. Upon checking again, the power steering fluid was again empty. When I called the Auto Broker, she told me that Stevenson Toyota had recommended that I fill the power steering fluid the best I could, and then drive 75 miles to Santa Fe, where the nearest Toyota Dealership could service my brand new car. This should go down as the dumbest and most reckless thing anyone could ever go. The reason being, Power Steering Fluid is flammable. Instead, I called Toyota and had the car towed to Santa Fe. Upon arriving in Santa Fe, I was informed by the tech at Toyota that it was a good thing that we didn't attempt to drive the car. Apparently, there was a frayed O ring on the Power Steering Assembly that was blowing power steering fluid all over the engine. Had I attempted to drive the car, there is a good chance that not only would I not be able to steer, but also that the car would catch on fire. And, if that would have happened, then there was a good chance the fire would hit the gas line and the car would explode, killing both of us. The Toyota tech in Santa Fe further explained that when new cars arrive, they are supposed to be filled with fluids and inspected. A simple visual inspection would have alerted Stevenson Toyota to this potentially life threatening problem. Apparently, so would the puddle of power steering fluid that was leaking from the bottom of the car. But rather than spending the ten minutes to trouble shoot this problem, Stevenson Toyota just went ahead and sold a defective car. I will never do business with them again. I am going to make a stink with the auto broker, to never do business with them again. Simply put, if you want to make sure your car doesn't have a chance of blowing up on the side of the road and killing people you love, then skipping this dealership is the thing to do. You never know, the life you save may be your own. More
