Horrible Experience/No Return Calls/No Follow-up/NOTHING I purchased a 2017 Nissan Rogue in November 2019 that had approximately 28,500 miles on it and it has been a horrible experience...from then until now I purchased a 2017 Nissan Rogue in November 2019 that had approximately 28,500 miles on it and it has been a horrible experience...from then until now, March 22, 2020. I was told by the salesperson that I had a warranty remaining of approximately 61,000. She told me I had "free oil changes and inspections" for the life of the vehicle. NOT TRUE. When I went to the finance officer to complete the paperwork he told me I only had approximately 1,500 miles remaining on the manufacturer warranty of 30,000 miles. I shared with him my concerns with extended warranties as they make you jump through hoops before you can even use it. Of course he assured me it was NOT that way and as a result I purchased the extended warranty so that I would have something after the 30,000 miles had expired. Later I find the manufacturer warranty is 36,000 miles What I had been told was NOT TRUE. I wrote the manager in late November early December 2019 to share with him my concern with what the salesperson had told me about the remaining mileage on the vehicle and having felt forced to purchase the extended warranty as a result. NEVER A RESPONSE. No only had I noticed a strange noise but I was due for an oil change so I wanted to have both things done/checked at the same time. When I go in for service I am told I would have to pay for the oil change AND a diagnostic test. I was livid and left. However the guy in the Service Dept told me he would have Michael Lynn call me. Of course, that NEVER happened so I called him over two weeks later. When I spoke with him he said he never saw my email (of 2019) and had not been told about the situation with the oil change and diagnostic test in late February. He offered to pay for the diagnostic test and explained they hadn't offered free oil changes for three years or more. But, that isn't what I was told and not being a salesperson, I only know what I am told. Why would anyone go from Staunton to Harrisonburg for an oil change if they hadn't been told that? I told Michael that I was totally dissatisfied and he said they would buy the car back. (I knew, in that, I would be the BIGGEST LOSER) As if all of this was my fault, he told me I didn't need to resort to "name calling" as he didn't appreciate it. I NEVER called anyone a name but I did say that I had found that everything I had been told was not true and that is so. The conversation ended with the understanding that I would decide what I wanted to do and let him know. I called him approximately two weeks ago, left a message and have yet to hear anything from him or anyone else-----today is March 22, 2020. I have come to the conclusion that Steven Kia is NOT going to honor the word of their salespeople, once you purchase from them you are on your own, and if you express any type of dissatisfaction with them they are going to make it appear that you have "insulted" them because they know THEY ARE WRONG. So we arrived at Steven Kia with a plan to test drive four vehicles that evening, and return in the morning if we found one we liked. Let me preface the rest of this review by admitting that if I had fo four vehicles that evening, and return in the morning if we found one we liked. Let me preface the rest of this review by admitting that if I had followed my original plan most of my dissatisfaction could have been avoided. We test drove two and we fell in love with a used Sienna. We were working with Ricardo and he encouraged us to get the paperwork “out of the way” Friday and even though I still had questions about the van like, “Does the DVD player work?” We agreed to fill out paperwork with the plan to get our questions answered in the morning before paying. We come back Saturday, they pull the van in and we start with trying to get the DVD player working - it does not work. Ricardo NOW has a clear answer that the DVD player was put in aftermarket and that is “why we took it out of the vehicle description.” We work on getting our phone hooked up to the BlueTooth. Sai was great and helped walk us through the confusing system. After we established that the BlueTooth worked we wanted to drive it to check if the cruise control worked. The van would not start. They tried jumping it, the van would not start. They called a mechanic to come over. During this time Ben kept me sane assuring me that batteries die all the time, they were easy to replace and Kia would do everything they could to make sure we left happy. I went to talk with the manager Matt about how I was feeling trapped in this contract now with a non-working van. Instead of any type of reassurance he said, “I don’t know why you are getting mad at me for something that was your fault. Everyone knows using electronics while on auxiliary power will run out the battery.” In 20 minutes? Really??? Turns out it was a bad battery after all. They replaced it. The cruise control worked fine. We had been there for three hours and it looked like except for having a non-working DVD player stuck to our ceiling there were no major issues. When we went to pay I asked for the other keys. The night before I had asked if there was a second key and fob and Richardo said, “Oh, I’m sure.” There was no other key, no other fob. I went and talked with Matt about my frustrations and eventually he did agree to pay for a second key and fob. So, overall they did make it alright in the end. But Steven Kia is what you would expect from a used car dealership. They are not going to volunteer any negative information about the vehicle until you’ve signed on the dotted line. You have to be on your toes, know the vehicle’s real worth and stand your ground about not signing anything until you are totally satisfied and have all your questions answered. I would recommend working with Sai or Ben if you have the choice. Or better yet, VA auto sales, they are great More
It was the worst experience I’ve ever endured at Steven Kia dealership.. Buying a vehicle of any kind should be a Happy experience needless to say mine was a nightmare. Driving away from the dealership you Kia dealership.. Buying a vehicle of any kind should be a Happy experience needless to say mine was a nightmare. Driving away from the dealership you’d think a person should be gleaming filled with joy and happiness. I drive away Crying about how I was Misled,, Deceived,,,In 2015 I had an accident Broke my Femur High hip fracture,,after 3 long years and lost everything I had except clothes on my back.. I was ready to drive again..I purchased a Toyota Yaris from Steven Toyota in 2010 and not a problem So I decided to stop by there dealership again but they couldn’t help me.. Then Steven Kia did a follow up call.. I really didn’t know that dealership existed,, but happy to hear that they would be able to put me in something and get me approved for a loan.. I went to the dealership all happy and eager to pic something out from the car lot I wanted a SUV That’s what I told Sia I wanted ..We’ll that didn’t happen..It was like CNN “FAKE NEWS from the very get go.. They played me like a yoyo..Sia Well he did try and I give him yes boy status for his effort. He needs to brush up on his communication skills with the customer and get his facts straight before assuming what I needed and definitely not what I wanted did he listen to me.. I was straight up in what “I “ wanted A SUV He didn’t listen to me kept tuning me out with selective hearing what he was going to go back and relay to Thomas.. Which every time it was always misconstrued and no where near the truth..After a very long evening and going back and forth.he said she said crap about getting me approved.. I waited and waited and waited back and forth like the other customers were more important than me..Then it was closing time.. They said sorry we don’t know anything come back in the morning.. Thomas called me that afternoon and said we got you approved.. Yay finally.. I asked how much,, he replies oh 17,000 18,000 19,000 thousand.. I said great.. Thinking when i arrived at dealership I could pick out anything in that price range...NOT!! Then cash money down..How much “I” stated a 1,000 no more Sia said can you do 2 and walked away Assuming I agreed to 2 which I did not agree but went forward putting 2grand on the loan application.. Then next morning I arrive and Thomas said didn’t Sia tell you what we are putting you in ..I said no What? Kia Rio But here’s the deal the car isn’t here yet.. First of all I never agreed to a car.. cracker box small go cart car.. been there and done that with the Yaris which they longer make.. After hear that news and putting a lot of my time and then being missed lead!! I WAS PISSED AND ANGRY BY THEM DECEIVING me..I went out side get fresh air and ready to just leave after hours of another day 2 waiting around again and closing time .. They pulled one out of there a:”” and pulled up 2015 Serento.. It was dark outside by then and after being upset and crying I got little excited about the Kia Serento.. I took it for test drive.. It was nice and very clean. Pull back into the dealership look down at the mileage and it has almost 92,000 close to a hundred thousand.. With another disappointing let down I thought here we go again.. I told Sia I don’t want this vehicle that’s high mileage for 2015.. He stated oh don’t worry about it that’s what you got a warranty for,, it’s good for at least another 100,000 thousand .. When he said warranty I’m thinking it came with one through them.. NOT There again no one told me any different and they took advantage of me again ,, They we’re ready to get the loan done and over cause it was late and Sia Came with his Fluttery little Skip and handed me the contract to sign..After signing papers and I realized a 13,500 dollars turned in a 16,800 hundreds almost 17,000 Because the financed a 2,000 extended WARRANTY ON MY LOAN on a vehicle that barely apprised for 10,000 NDA book value.. 10,000 now turns into 17,000 that I’m going to be paying for 5very long years.. I didn’t agree to the bogus extended warranty nor did I tell them to finance in as a part of my loan..I called the bank where they fraudulently pushed the loan through with no cash down.. I told the bank cash down loan was not funded and what took place and they told me to take the vehicle back to dealership and ask for a cancellation form.. So I did.. I requested a cancellation form but Michael said very angered and sarcastically No I’m not giving you a form and is this your signature.. Well Duh then he told me get off property or he’s going to get no trespassing on me.. I wasn’t doing anything but simply doing what the bank wanted me to do.. Now I’m being sued !! Never again.. I’d go to Armstrong first..lol More
