I recently bought a certified used Subaru from Steve Lewis -- a dealership recommended to me by my father-in-law. Each time I went to look at the car, Steve Lewis himself was at the dealership -- and when I signed the papers, he gave me his card and told me to contact him if ever I needed anything. As part of the sales agreement, the dealership said they would touch up some chipped paint spots on the car. They did the job, but it looked awful. I was really disappointed. I took some photos and emailed them to Steve Lewis. Within minutes I got a call from the dealership apologizing and asking me to make another appointment to come in. A few days later I brought the car back in and it came back looking perfect. As far as I'm concerned, this is customer service at its best. Obviously, it would have been nice if the paint had been done right the first time, but mistakes happen anywhere you go. The fact that it was corrected so quickly (and without making me feel like I was an anal jerk) speaks volumes about the quality of this dealership. I will definitely buy from them again, and strongly recommend them to others. From the owner to the sales staff, the people are fair and honorable, which to me is the best thing you can say about a car dealership. More
I purchsed a 2007 Subaru Legacy from Larry Flakes. He was friendly from the on-set. I told him what I wanted and he delivered on everything I requested. I was promptly greeted by Larry when i entered the dealership. I already knew what I wanted to look at but after I was given an overview of the car, I realized the car was not the best match. Although they did not have the exact car there that I wanted in stock, I was shown something comparable and was given the chance to look over the car that I did order once it arrived. My husband and I were looking for a new car that had better gas mileage but could still accommodate our families active lifestyle. Many HOURS!!!!!! later they were still playing a back and forth game even though we made it very clear what are absolute cut off was for a monthly payment. We went home discouraged and feeling defeated. I took to the internet for more research and came across Steve Lewis Subaru and I am glad I did. We found a car and simply punched in our information and immediately the phone rang and I was on the phone with a pleasant and straight forward individual. Steve Gonsalves listened to what our families needs were and was completely honest about the customer service. He invited us to meet with him at our convenience and assured me we would have a wonderful experience like none other at Steve Lewis. He was right. We walked in and immediately were greeted by kind fellow humans without the pre-set sales reel you in attitude. Steve listened to our needs and worked with his TEAM to find the best vehicle. Joe Clark was unbelievable. I am still in shock about his dedication towards eliminating our fears of purchasing the right vehicle and removing all frustrations from our Northampton Ford debacle. We spent the time we needed to find what was best for us at a price that would allow us to love a vehicle for years to come without buyers resentment of a monthly payment beyond our means. We are a local family in Northampton. My husband taught school here for 35 years and I am a medical social worker in this community and I will give you an assurance that we will recommend Steve Lewis Subaru to anyone and everyone regardless of geographical location because Steve Lewis Subaru is worth the drive for such a pleasant and rewarding experience. I also want to offer up a shout out to John Acadia who also assisted to help us get things processed and back home in no time! Thanks guys, this social worker now has a restored faith in her fellow human beings to take others interests and needs to heart. We bought our car before moving across the country. Steve was extremely helpful and went above and beyond to ensure that the vehicle had everything we wanted and that it was ready when we moved. It was a pleasure to buy my new car from Steve Lewis. Perhaps his learning curve, perhaps my not wanting to haggle. Mike worked hard to get me a good interest rate and secure my financing, for which I am grateful. We shopped at several local dealerships and no other salesperson was as engaging, helpful and upfront as Larry Flakes. Also the dealership is moving its location to Hadley, MA, to a location that will be larger and more convenient, an added plus.
