Be aware of fraud at Sterling McCall. When financing, at 2.9% on 26,000 Saaid came back with a payment of 583/mo. I can do the math in my head, somehow he added 10,000 to the loan then tried to bully us in 2.9% on 26,000 Saaid came back with a payment of 583/mo. I can do the math in my head, somehow he added 10,000 to the loan then tried to bully us into staying and completing the loan. Our salesperson, Burt, was very good, so we decided he should not suffer for the actions of an unethical co-worker. He called back and the payment was 110$ less than originally quoted the day before. Also, when getting insurance for the vehicle, no one at Sterling McCall would give my insurer the VIN # for the vehicle we were buying and gave them the run around as well. Needless to say, I will not be taking my car there for service considering how unprofessional the sales/finance team at Sterling McCall has proven themselves to be. More
After reaching an agreement and literally sitting in the finance manager's office, the salesperson stepped in to say they "accidentally" just sold the same car to the person in the next office. Then asked i finance manager's office, the salesperson stepped in to say they "accidentally" just sold the same car to the person in the next office. Then asked if we were interested in a car that we had already declined (and was more poorly equipped). They said they would make it right but when I called the next day only received a tepid response to try to find me a new vehicle with no attempt to secure a similarly equipped one. No apology, not even any communication, from the manager who purportedly made the mistake. Funny. I told a friend about what happened and their question was "Sterling McCall"? 'Nuff said. More
I was in the market shopping for a Toyota Sienna LE. We visit this dealership on Friday and were greeted by a salesman named George Kolacherril. He showed us a few of the available models. Never really bot visit this dealership on Friday and were greeted by a salesman named George Kolacherril. He showed us a few of the available models. Never really bothered to "sell" the car during our 30 min interaction. I assumed that was because he was a seasoned salesman and respected the customers knowledge. That was ok with me and I anyway was more interested in knowing the final price (although a little bit of salesmanship is not a problem and shows the dealer is not overconfident). He gave us a decent quote (assume 30,000$ for discussion sake) and said this price was valid for Friday and Saturday. I told him I would like my wife to take a look at the car and hence would come back tomorrow. The next day (Saturday) I took my wife and kid and we went back again. And surprise, surprise! Mr George says the price he quoted on Friday was not approved by his manager(!) and he increased it by 600$ and quoted 30,600$!!! When I said I was not happy about the increased quote, he said that I should be flexible (can't believe a salesman can say this to a customer) and should take this price!!! He said it's between me and his manager and he can't do anything about it! When I told him to call me back in case his manager changes his mind, he had the guts to say that his manager will probably not, so don't expect a call from him. That was the limit and I walked out from the showroom. This experience of car buying was the worst I had till date. The salesman was arrogant and careless. He made the mistake of quoting a price which was below what the dealer could probably afford. He wasted an hour of both my and my wife's time. We have a 2 week old baby, so we had to make the appropriate arrangements to make sure my wife can come with me to the dealer on Saturday. On top of it, he spoke arrogantly with us. Either Sterling McCall is selling a lot of cars or they don't care about potential customers. I think the former is unlikely in the current economic scenario, so I imagine it must be the latter. More
I was frankly amazed at the way I was treated at Sterling McCall Toyota - everyone was great! From my salesperson, Kyle Moore, all the way up to Jerry Bush, the general manager of the dealership. Jerry sat McCall Toyota - everyone was great! From my salesperson, Kyle Moore, all the way up to Jerry Bush, the general manager of the dealership. Jerry sat down with us and made sure that all of our questions were answered, and that we were competely satisfied with our treatment. We love our new Prius, and we got a great deal! Thanks Sterling McCall Toyota and Jerry Bush! More
I was very pleased to not have to go through the usual "mumbo jumbo" when dealing with a typical car salesman. My salesman Bert was friendly, concise, and straight to the point in finding the right car f "mumbo jumbo" when dealing with a typical car salesman. My salesman Bert was friendly, concise, and straight to the point in finding the right car for me, based on my needs. He has been there for a long time and he seems to know his stuff pretty well. Because he is in the credit union department, I got a great price while using my own financing! It seemed like it took no time, and I was in and out in my new Tacoma in less time than it would have taken to go see a movie! Thanks Bert! More
We truly enjoyed dealing with Kathie Marsh. She made buying a new vehicle such a pleasure. She has the right attributes as a sales person. We wish her the best! buying a new vehicle such a pleasure. She has the right attributes as a sales person. We wish her the best! More

I have visited this dealer several times to buy various parts for my 2 Toyotas. My first complaint about this place would be that customer parking is limited to under 10 spaces for the parts counter. Als parts for my 2 Toyotas. My first complaint about this place would be that customer parking is limited to under 10 spaces for the parts counter. Also, the spaces are ultra compact so getting dings in your doors from careless people is very likley. The parts departments is for the most part run by kids just out of high school. I did not find any of them to be rude but they are all very unprofessional and do not know the products well enough to sell them. I have had times when they ordered the wrong parts for my car after having used the VIN number to look them up and be sure there would be no errors. The cashiers are fast and polite so no problems there. Oh, and the entire parts section is full of cheap products like sunshades and air freshners in these bins and cardboard displays. The place looks like a 99 cent store with bottom tier made in China garbage everywhere. The markup on parts is also very high ranging about 30-45% above wholesale. I would suggest you find another dealer and avoid this one. More
We put the auction (# 4994) on the MyCar.com for 2006 Toyota Camry LE (base) and Sterling McCall Toyota on South West Freeway in Houston, TX was the lowest bidder with $200 over Invoice. We went to S Toyota Camry LE (base) and Sterling McCall Toyota on South West Freeway in Houston, TX was the lowest bidder with $200 over Invoice. We went to Sterling McCall Toyota last Saturday, Sep 3rd, 2005, and met Jay Mehta (Sales person) who bid on our auction. He showed us all the Camry and we selected the 2006 Toyota Camry LE. The only dealer installed option it had on it was the Carpet mat set. So, we told him that we want to go ahead for this car. In his office, he told me that there was a mistake and that the bid he put was 2% of the invoice and not the $200 over the invoice. We showed him MyCar.com printout which he took inside (to show his manager) and came back 20 minutes later. He said that this printout helped him a lot and he can give us $200 over the invoice. He then put his number of $20,900 for the Invoice and said that Tax, Title and License are additional. WE WERE SHOCKED. We asked him to show us the invoice. He again went into his manager's office and came back after wasting another 15 minutes. Instead of bringing the invoice, he brought a computer printout on a plain sheet of paper with so many different charges. These were: 1. Base Price 2. Dealer Installed Options 3. 1% Manufacturer Holdback 4. 2% Inventory Charge 5. PDA 6. Delivery & Handling charge 7. Advertising Fees 8. Other Misc. Fees The total for all these were $19574 in the Invoice, and he said that $200 over the invoice becomes $19774. We again asked for the actual invoice for this car and he again went inside and brought his manager, Tobias. Mr. Tobias (again he had the same computer printout - anyone can print that) informed us that this is the invoice and everything is what they are incurring. When we asked for the explanation on all the charges, instead of providing us the explanation he started talking about the TMV (True Market Value) price from Edmunds.com. We told him that we are here to get $200 over Invoice and are asking to see the actual invoice. He then started insulting us with the specific remark: "You people are here just for haggling. You are not here to buy anything". I showed him my check book and told him that we went through the MyCar.com in the first place so that we don't have to waste our time haggling for the price. I also asked him that why did he bid if he did not want to fulfill his commitment. Mr. Tobias was very very rude and this was our worst experience at Sterling McCall Toyota. More
