I answered an ad for a used car listed in "Excellent Condition". I was immediately informed that the car did not run and needed a fuel pump. I told them I would buy it providing it was repaired. They sa Condition". I was immediately informed that the car did not run and needed a fuel pump. I told them I would buy it providing it was repaired. They said it would be a week and sent me a price agreement that had a $1500 add-on. I assume this was for the cost of the repair. I refused to pay for the repair and they wanted to call it a "Dealership Fee". I refused that. I was then presented with a signed price agreement for the posted asking price plus TTL. I accepted that pending repair and final inspection. They said the parts for the repair would be in around the end of the week. They then claimed parts were delayed, it would be Thursday of next week. The salesman stopped responding to my texts. I contacted a different number and the salesman magically answered that the car had been sold to someone willing to buy it as is. The bottom line here is: 1) Their listings are inaccurate. 2) Their signed price agreements mean nothing. If they decide the price they sign off on is later somehow inconvenient, they have no qualms about violating their signed agreement. 3) Tim Hargrove, the General Manager sent a nice automated email giving his direct email and phone number stating if there were any problems I should contact him directly. Tim refused to answer calls or respond to either voicemail or email. 4) I possess copies of listings and texts as evidence of everything here. 5) It will be a cold day in you know where before I ever do business with Sterling McCall again. Beware, You Have Been Warned More
