I had a service recall yesterday on my Silverado 1500 (January 25, 2024). They also did an oil change, transmission fluid exchange and brake fluid change. The recall was for a brake control module soft (January 25, 2024). They also did an oil change, transmission fluid exchange and brake fluid change. The recall was for a brake control module software issue. Fast forward to today. When I was taking my wife to work I lost total control of brake system functionality. All the bells and whistles & warnings came on. (Brake fluid low, loss of esc control, ABS etc. I had NO brakes. Thank God it was a Sunday with minimal traffic. Imagine going 70 mph down the highway with no brakes. Jesus was looking after my wife and me. Is Sterling McCall trying to kill us? This is totally totally unacceptable. Ironic enough, the service advisor was nice enough but I was assured yesterday that everything was ok. I was able to pull off and get the vehicle towed back to the house at my expense and then I checked the brake fluid reservoir. It was completely empty. I am outraged beyond belief. Someone needs to contact me IMMEDIATELY. Knowing that a near miss was avoided this dealership probably wont give a xxxx, but my life and my wifes life mean something. Somebody call me IMMEDIATELY. I definitely would NOT recommend this dealership since they don’t own up to their mistakes. I had my truck in for a transmission fluid flush back in early November. They also performed diagnostic on my di they don’t own up to their mistakes. I had my truck in for a transmission fluid flush back in early November. They also performed diagnostic on my display to fix a CarPlay issue and updated my radio system. I had my truck for 5 years with the same OEM battery, never a problem. 2 weeks after I got my truck back, I left it in my driveway for 5 days and the battery was completely drained. I replaced the battery myself and after a 1 week work trip, it was completely drained and bad again! I went through 3 batteries, checking voltage each time, before taking it back to them explaining that it had a parasitic drain on the battery. They diagnosed the issue as an internal failure of the BCM and quoted me another $750. I never had any issue with parasitic drain until they serviced my vehicle in November. They refused to take responsibility for the damaged BCM and said it’s impossible they could have done something wrong because they are “trained professionals and I have to trust that”. Yea…okay. Very disappointed with this experience after coming from a family who has always only owned GM vehicles. Maybe it’s time to look at something different. More
