I cannot give this dealership enough bad press - so scarey the way they treat the customers there. Salesman could not cut a good deal to save his life and the follow-up service stunk. They took my car scarey the way they treat the customers there. Salesman could not cut a good deal to save his life and the follow-up service stunk. They took my car and it when I got it back 8 hrs later it had 104 additional miles on it. IT IS A LEASE & I PAY FOR THOSE MILES!!! THAT IS THEFT GUYS!!! This happened after the service advisor, OLIVER, told me the car would not leave the dealership. What a bunch of hosers. Well, BMW should be so proud to have such a bunch of hosers working for them. What IS the criteria for working for Sterling BMW anyway??? Take a look at the BBB site rating for Sterling BMW so you can be fore-warned before taking your business here - on second thought - take your BIZ ELSEWHERE!!!! More

After hearing about all the horror stories about BMW This is strictly regarding the Service Dept. I am 100% completely satisfied with Sterling BMW. After hearing about all the horror stories about BMW dealerships around Socal I was willing to drive as far as I needed to to get my car serviced. Once I read about how bad ALL the dealerships are around LA, I ended up driving 35 miles to get to Newport Beach (used to live in Walnut) as this was the best rated dealership online. Upon arriving at the Service Dept I noticed how busy they were. There were so many cars lined up I knew I had a long wait coming. My first time there I think I had my Service 1 on my Z4. It was covered under warranty and I left happy. Second time I think there was some issue with high beams not working. They couldn't diagnose anything at first, but as I was about to leave the left headlight wouldn't even turn on. They quickly took it back to the technician and they replaced my HID bulb. Haven't had a problem since. Even though the dealership is quite small and not the prettiest looking one (ie Irvine BMW), they have the customer service and that's what really matters. I'd highly recommend them as I've had a great experience with them, especially Danny my service adviser. Great guy! More

I get a call from service advisor Kristie she informs me that air boot is cracked and diverter valve sticks. Well I don't know what any of that means so of course I agree to do the repair. She then informs me the front left window regulator is broken. Well this is disturbing to me because there never was a problem with the window. She states there is a loud grinding and popping noise. There never was any noise I reply to her she says only a trained ear can here it. Repair cost $499.00 I tell her to do nothing to the window. My wife picks up the car and rolls down the window and that is where it stays down it can not be rolled up. I am not sure how or what happened at Stirling where the driver side window became broken. I tell my wife to turn around and insist it be fixed. In the meanwhile I spoke to the service manager Kevin Ormes who tells me he is going to to do me a favor and have repaired in 45 minutes for $450.00 rather then the $499.00. I insist he is not doing me any favors because Stirling broke the window. I then speak to sales manager Bob who agrees to do the work for $350.00 which is better then $499.00. Well two and a half hours later the car is ready to go. So the next day 11-6-10 the engine light is on this is the reason we took the car in for. So $850.00 later our X5 still has the original problem. We bring the car back 11-8-10 they keep the car two days and charge me another $100.00 which again they tell me they are doing me a favor. From what I can tell they never fixed the problem from the get go they just performed a repair that didn't exist. I had in the past brought out 750 series for service and didn't have any problems. Stirling has went through some staff changes since my previous visits and from my observation it is not an improvement. Upon our arrival on 11-5-10 Kristy the service advisor greeted us the first thing I noticed was she looked a little sloppy. When we were directed to the car rental office which is on site at Stirling I noticed the walls needed paint and the carpet has excessive ware. Monday the 8th of Nov when we brought the car back for the original problem that never was fixed I went to pay Bob the service manager a visit the receptionist ask my name then pages Bob, twenty seconds later she ask my name again then informs me Bob will be with me shortly. A few minutes passes when the receptionist ask my name again. Wow she asked me my name three times in a five minute period. When my wife went to pay for the third time the the cashier greeted her by asking Name please? Stirling is by far the most tacky dealership I have ever been to. Isn't BMW supposed to be in the luxury class? You would not think so after a visit to Stirling Newport Beach CA More
I bought my BMW from Sterling and have returned to Sterling for the past four years for all my service needs. Less than 60 days after my warranty expired, Sterling tells me that I have over $2,500 of Sterling for the past four years for all my service needs. Less than 60 days after my warranty expired, Sterling tells me that I have over $2,500 of work that needs to be completed. After speaking with other dealerships, I questioned whether such services were needed given that a month prior Sterling informed me that I had no issues. Sterling refused to do the work on a good-will basis eventhough BMW agreed to pay for all the parts. I'm in the market for another car and would never go back to Sterling. I understand dealerships are hurting but goodwill is a two way street. Remember this next time you're thinking of buying from Sterling BMW. More
If you do the mistake to go into Sterling BMW or by accident have your car towed there because it broke down, do yourself the favor and pay a tow truck and tow it elsewhere, anywhere, just don't leave accident have your car towed there because it broke down, do yourself the favor and pay a tow truck and tow it elsewhere, anywhere, just don't leave it at Sterling. Your car/wallet is safer (with insurance) in Santa Ana at night, with the keys on the hood and alarm off. If you hear the name "Chris Zappia" just run, he's a service adviser that is looking for your wallet, not to fix your car. You can Google his name and you'll see plenty of stories. The sales people are jerks, I know of a prominent artist (rock star).. that made his cash and wanted to go and buy a BMW there... in CASH. Anyway they didn't even look at him, when he asked questions regarding the car. When he asked for a test drive they said "Umm, yeah not for you." He went to Fletcher same day got himself a Benz and drove back and flipped off the sales guys. Stupid dealership. Robbery on PCH. More
I was extremely offended by this dealership. Because they are the Costco Executive Members' dealership for the Los Angeles area, I contacted them after reviewing their inventory online. My partner and I were are the Costco Executive Members' dealership for the Los Angeles area, I contacted them after reviewing their inventory online. My partner and I were both interested in buying BMWs - a 330i and an X5. Brian Cummings was my salesperson, and he was extremely attentive when I first spoke to him. Additionally, I spoke to the sales manager on conference with Brian. While the vehicles we selected were in pristine condition with very low mileage, the dealership refused to adjust the price even to the blue book suggested retail price. I was pleased when Brian mentioned before I asked that there would be a discount for purchasing two vehicles at the same time. The discount turned out to be a joke; the combined cost of the vehicles was over $70,000. We were offered $250 off on each car as a discount. $250! It was almost insulting. What really upset me about these guys occurred when the financing discussion began. They added two inquiries to my credit report and upon seeing it, called me asking for a co-signer. My credit score is over 700 but I had no previous auto loans. I told them I didn't have a cosigner and was pretty much dismissed at that point. I asked what I could do to still make the deal happen - the response was to put a substantial amount of money down. I asked Brian how much that was and told him if that were the only issue, we could make it happen. I never heard back from Brian. Apparently he assumed I couldn't afford a down payment. And if it might take a minute to negotiate a deal or make it work, he is not interested. Essentially, this experience sent me to Mercedes, where I was approved. Sterling clearly isn't interested in customer service or recurring business - that says a lot to me. More
OKAY DEALERSHIP..... I went here for service....and I OKAY DEALERSHIP..... I went here for service....and I was very disappointed because I have to come back 4x before they fix the SAME problem I told OKAY DEALERSHIP..... I went here for service....and I was very disappointed because I have to come back 4x before they fix the SAME problem I told them on my first visit.....they are very friendly but unless they do a good job, you end up being disappointed with the crappy service. Thy give me a LOANER CAR everytime I went there for service......this is great BUT the service department put 2 dings on my FIRST BMW. RESEARCH THE PROBLEM ON YOUR CAR BEFORE YOU GO THERE AND USE PROPER WORDING BECAUSE THEY WILL WILL TELL YOU "EVERYTHING IS OKAY" VIDEOTAPE THE PROBLEM IF POSSIBLE. PLEASE DO A DETAILED WALKTHROUGH ON YOUR CAR AND LOOK AT ALL SCRATCHES BECAUSE I END UP HAVING TWO MAJOR DINGS ON MY BMW. TAKE PICTURES IF POSSIBLE. More
Purchased via internet sales back in 2000. sales rep was very friendly on the phone and on e-mail, and was happy to keep me posted on the progress of my special order car (I ordered unusual set of options, very friendly on the phone and on e-mail, and was happy to keep me posted on the progress of my special order car (I ordered unusual set of options, so had to get it special ordered for 3mo wait) and never made me feel like I was imposing on her for asking her for an update (started production, at loading dock, shipping, arrived at dock, etc). Since it was through internet purchase I did not have to go through the traditional face-to-face haggling, but they have been very good about what counts.. getting me the right car as promised. Too bad I live so remotely that I cannot use their service department (most of our local BMW dealers have horrible service) More
Went in for routine service/inspection after a long time of any dealer work. Was afraid of which dealer to goto as soo many horrible bmw dealerships in socal. Came to Sterling from friend's advice and onlin of any dealer work. Was afraid of which dealer to goto as soo many horrible bmw dealerships in socal. Came to Sterling from friend's advice and online reviews as being the best, and truly experienced it. Danny from Service took care of me and my car with 100% effort. Did full Inspection I, oil change etc, and found a faulty xenon bulb, so replaced that too all covered under warranty. Good to know trustworthy dealerships still around, with service that cares! Thanks Danny! Highly recommended! More
I paid a visit to Sterling Bmw in search of a new 5 series and encountered a wealth of misinformation and apathy. These people act like you are doing them a favor offering to purchase a vehicle from th series and encountered a wealth of misinformation and apathy. These people act like you are doing them a favor offering to purchase a vehicle from them. I voiced my feelings to a tall guy who claimed to be the sales manager "Bob" who was equally unresponsive. He seemed to be more interested in picking at his face! Anyways, I went to Irvine BMW where I was treated fairly and with some level of respect. Honestly I did not buy a car at Irvine, but when I do it will not be at Sterling. More
