Thi I want to thank Tina Swistak and Ken Babineau and all of the BMW employee's who helped with my experience of buying my new 2016 740i this weekend. This is my 4th BMW that I have purchased from Sterling BMW and I would highly recommend this dealership if you are in the market for a BMW. Tina was very helpful with the test drive and worked with me on getting the best deal that made sense for my budget. I want to thank Ken (General Sales Manager) as well for pushing the deal through and making it happen as well. Everyone throughout the process was very professional and curtious and made my experince an A+. Best regards, Daniel Carmo More

I went in to look at the car, drove the car, and negotiated the deal for over 2 hours. Finally, the CPO sales manager came and told me that the car price mis marked and they would not honor the advertised price. They ran my credit and gave me a monthly payment. I would not have agreed to any of this had I known I was applying for a phantom car. This is fraudulent pursuant to the FTC. Finally, the manager argued with me in front of the entire show room and wasted my time. More

If you want details, read on... We purchased a CPO 2012 X5M from sterling BMW during memorial day weekend May 2015. Along with the extended warranty, we elected to purchase the extended service contract. As the finance salesperson put it plainly "all you will ever have to do is put gas in the car!" Sounds good, right? Wrong! ...Turns out, this could not be further from the truth. Starting with the day after we drove the vehicle off the lot, the "low oil" warning was activated. Apparently oil level is not a critical check when Sterling declares a vehicle "CPO". This warning has been on and off ever since - a chronic issue. The dealership has been unable, unwilling (or perhaps a bit of both) to solve the issue. In order to be able to operate the vehicle safely (or at all), we have been forced to add a quart of oil ourselves every few hundred miles. The dealership has offered to top off the oil for free. Unless I happen to be at the dealership. Call me crazy, but unless I happen to be next to the dealership when this happens - in my opinion - it is not really worth my time or effort in order to secure a free bottle of oil. I would much prefer owning a vehicle that did not have a chronic oil consumption issue. The dealer has advised in recorded voicemails to "just drive the vehicle - it is not really an issue" and also that "yes, your vehicle does consume oil - it is normal and a known issue". The contradiction, lack of situational awareness, and lack of care/caution is alarming. The brakes have squealed like a scared pig since the first week of driving. Again - no resolution from the dealer. Just empty justification and meaningless drivel about the high performance nature of the vehicle. In December 2015, a turbo vacuum hose failed. The dealer alleged it was due to "rodent damage". We had a professional inspection of our home which determined there was no sign of rodent habitation. The dealer did not seem to care - and insisted we pay for the repair as "damage due to forces of nature" is not covered under the extended service policy we purchased. How convenient. Additionally, after I reluctantly agreed to pay, the communication about the repair fell off a cliff. On Dec 21, I was told by the service adviser that the vehicle would be "ready tomorrow". Fast forward to Dec 31...no update from Sterling. So I decided to call and inquire. I was then told that the service adviser had apparently taken an unexpected leave of absence, so the car was not ready - and that it would be ready the following day. They did not seem to think this was unusual. I guess backup coverage is not something they are staffed for. Immediately after receiving the vehicle back from the above mentioned service visit, the battery in the vehicle failed - causing yet another service visit. I guess this was yet something else missed in the rigorous inspections performed on vehicles while in their possession.Seeing a pattern here? I do... Then comes the dreaded letter informing that our vehicle is impacted by the recall of airbags due to potential unsafe and lethal deployment. So what does Sterling say when I call to explain that I am unable to put my family in this vehicle out on the open road (its primary and intended purpose) and to request alternate transportation (which is being offered by most every manufacturer impacted)...? They say they'll put me on a waiting list. In the meantime, of course, they were interested in offering me some incredible sales incentives to get me out of this scary dangerous vehicle and into a different BMW. I called the salesperson as instructed... twice... to set up an appointment. They never called me back. Are you shocked? At this point, I'm not... Steer clear of this dealership for your BMW sales and service needs. Unfortunately, Sterling BMW has left us no alternative but to explore legal options to resolve the very expensive problem they created for us. More

These guys are s The Sterling BMW service department scams its customers. I've had nothing but trouble with Sterling BMW and really regret going here. These guys are seriously worse than a used car dealership, if you can believe that. If you read the reviews about this dealership you'll find dozens of horrible reviews. There is a much better dealership right up the freeway that I've had much better luck with. I've experienced and overheard many different horrible experiences with Sterling. I'ave heard service advisers tell customers to take a hike, right in the front of the dealership. I overheard one employee cussing in front of other customers about this or that (something about an issue with a car.) Honestly, nothing surprises me here. There are plenty of other options to take your car, including one right up the 55 freeway. Here is my story: I've bought 2 new and 1 used BMW from Sterling over the past 6 years and was about to buy a fourth. When I took my second car in to have a noise looked at they had it for 4 hours and never offered a loaner vehicle. They kept telling me, just a little bit longer. Just a little bit longer. When they finally did figure it out where the noise was coming from they insisted it would be fixed with a few parts, for a total of $800. Okay, great! Fix it up, lets get out of here. At this point I don't want to even argue if its covered under warranty or not. Just fix it and lets go! My the time the car is out and fixed I've been at the dealership for 6 hours. I just wanted to get out of there! Upon paying, and leaving the dealership, within 5 minutes, the noise is BACK. I just drove it home and called another dealership to figure it out. This is not the one and only negative experience, and many other customers have had as well. These guys are predatory, complete liars and will do anything to make a dollar of their customers. Do not trust them. As many have mentioned, there are other dealerships in the area. Good luck with your issues, I hope you read these reviews before taking your car in. More

There is a much better dealership right up the freeway (crevier bmw.) Sterling BMW IS A NO GO! Their reviews are so horrible for sales and service it's a wonder they're still in business. CREVIER BMW is a few miles up the 55. And has a much higher quality experience. I took my 2015 BMW Z4 in on Nov 10th to have the tires checked and look for oil leaks. The vehicle has been having the TPM (tire pressure monitor) light go off once every week or two for a few months. The oil level light consistently comes on as well. I remedy the issue by adding a little more air to each tire and adding oil as I go. Recently, the car started needing more oil and more air that makes me think the problem is more serious and deserves a look by a more qualified tech. On Nov 10th the tech looks at the vehicle, we inspected the tires for nails by looking at the car while someone drove it fwd(none found,) reset the tires to proper pressures as I had them 4 and 6lbs over inflated. They inform me nothing is wrong with the tires. The oil they say to bring it back when the oil light comes on but turbo vehicles burn oil. I know turbo vehicles burn oil, but the rate on this is fairly higher than what I am used to. I know how to maintain proper oil levels in turbo and N/A vehicles. I went back to my shop and rechecked the tires. I did find a nail in the right rear tire. On Nov 11, the right rear TPM sensor goes off and says that it's low. I drove the car into Stering at 9am and asked the service advisor (AJ or Anthony Gennock,) to check all the tires. The sensor has been going off for a few months for ALL tires. He requests to leave the car the entire day. I inform him that the tech I spoke to said an hour or so at most. AJ changes the time to 1.5hrs. I get a call 1hr40min later stating that the front right tire has a nail in it and the right rear has a puncture. The front right will be covered by warranty, but the rear right has 2/32 of thread left and will not be covered by warranty for excessive ware. I explain to check all the tires as the light has been going off for some time now. The service advisor explains that they want to make as much money off the vehicle as possible and will have the technician look at the car again. This was a somewhat tense conversation as I know there are issues with the tires, but sterling advisor AJ is babbling about this or that and not understanding what I've explained about the tires. I have friends in the industry and explain to check the rims as I've heard the aluminum rims have tendencies to bend from pot holes and railroad tracks. They call back 1hr 45min later and explain that the front right tire is replaced (under warranty) and the rear tires both have punctures/nails causing a slow leak. They did not catch this the first time around. They state the tires are at 2/32nds and aren't covered under the warranty I purchased with the vehicle. AJ informs me to take It up with BMW wheel and tire company who approves and disapproves replacements. After calling these guys informed they have an approved claim for the front right. But the right rears aren't covered because my contract states they have to be 2.1mm/32nds. I inform them that they both do have 2/32nds and my contract states 2/32 is the minimum (NOT 2.1.) after 5-10min of back and forth they pull up original signed contract and do confirm 2/32nds as listed, not 2.1 as the rep stated. HERE IS ANOTHER ISSUE: The rep informs me that AJ called this morning and stated the rears have 0/32 tread left, not 2/32nds as we discussed and I confirmed yesterday. I immediately call AJ who changes his story now stating that they do not have X amount of tread left. I inform him I am coming down with a tire gauge to measure the tire tread and take pictures as I already checked them and they should be within coverage. Upon arriving, I ask him why he called and lied to BMW stating a 0/32 depth on the tires. He informed me that he did not lie and I need to get my keys and take the vehicle to someone else. At this point we discuss the tire tread depth again where he changes his story once again. Each time I'm quoting his previous statement at where the tires are at. At this point he states they are below 2/32nds. We've gone back and forth 3 times or so on where the tires are at. I've measured the tire tread yesterday evening after the first encounter and measured above 2/32nds., the second time I measured it 15 hours later it is at or just below 2/32nds. We're awaiting the adjuster to come look at the tires. I am extremely unhappy with Sterling BMW service for how they've handled this situation. The issues I have are: 1. Service adjuster (AJ) lying to BMW about tread depth. He stated 0/32 to them, so they denied the claim. Except to me, he said and we both agreed that there are 2/32nds left. 2. When I came in to measure the tires, there appears to me a few 1000ths of an inch less thread than when I measured the night before after leaving Sterling for the first time. I'm not saying they purposely wore the tires off, but it's unlikely that the few miles I drove it between last night and this morning caused that much tire tread but it's a little interesting that the tires are even more questionable. 3. They found issues with the left rear tire that weren't originally there. The first phone call there were no issues. They go back over the car and find more issues on tires that aren't covered under warranty. 4. Attitude of advisor- combative, lying directly to me and BMW about the condition of the tires. At one point he told me to go take my sales pitch somewhere else; if I can sell them that, then good for me. 5. The issue has been around for months, albeit slow leaks, there is still an issue. The leaks have been getting worse. The first tech said tires pressure will adjust with temperature (we all know that,) but not at the rate which I've experienced is not indicative of ambient temperature change. 6. The contract states 2/32nds left and it's covered. I believe there to be 2/32nds left as measured by me and the technicians on the first go around. 7. The contract states 2/32nds left at the time of puncture. I've brought the car in for checks on tires leaking and they always drive it away, check the tires and bring it back saying that there is nothing wrong, they just needed air. I've been putting air in them once a week for 3 months. CREVIER BMW--- IS LOCATED JUST UP THE 55 FREEWAY 4 miles from Sterling. Take your car to Crevier BMW. The service people are more knowledgeable and they don't have nearly as many negative reviews as Sterling. I will be taking my car to back to Crevier after this situation is squared away. I went here based on a recommendation from a friend in the industry. The reviews for Sterling are ridiculously horrible. Especially their service department. I wish I would have read them before decided to come down here. More

There is a BMW dealership that has a much better service department that is located a few miles up the freeway. I've read a ridiculous amount of reviews on here how Sterling BMW is scamming their customers in both the sales side and service department and my story is no different. I purchased a used BMW M3 from Sterling in January of 2015. It was preowned and had a warranty on it as well. When I did purchase the vehicle I decided to purchase an extra warranty option they had that would more "inclusive" than the warranty that came with the car. It cost an additional $4,500, but I was assured by the finance manager that this was perfect for a used BMW as they often have problems within the first couple years of ownership and anything I could think of could would be covered. Unfortunately, that was not the case. I have had the vehicle in a few times for oil, fluid leaks. Of the 6 times I've had leaks (all different areas,) not a single one was covered under warranty. Can you believe this? I've argued with them over every single one of the leaks and pointed out in the contract how this should be covered. They always find some little way to get out of it and not cover the problem in question. So, a slightly used car, that was very expensive and a warranty that was EVEN MORE expensive, and I've paid $9,000 in repairs all within 11 months. The service department is such a scam at this dealership. I have started taking my vehicle up the freeway to the other dealership up at that auto mall. Their service department is much better to deal with and has helped go out of their way to get my warranty items covered. Good luck with your car and AVOID STERLING BMW LIKE THE PLAGUE. More

When I asked them about it they kept saying they only worked on the airbag and didn't remove the trim. Yeah I understand that but to remove the airbag cover you have to pry it open, and guess what is right next to the airbag cover!?!?! The trim that they broke! I called for the service manager 5-6 times, but he was always in a meeting! That's all day for most of the week. BMW customer service also was a waste of time, they said we have to go by what the service manager said. I called the two other dealers nearby and they said that it was most likely broken by Sterling BMW, now why couldn't the customer service guy call around? I recommend going to the other dealers! More
