The Surveys, as usually implemented, are a total waste of time and effort for all concerned. -The Customer has no incentive or reward for their efforts to provide quality feedback and, in fact, the well-intentioned responding Customer is usually punished with resultant marketing materials he doesn’t want or need. -No complex transactions or processes are ‘perfect’ and therefore almost always can be improved, but any score of ‘less than perfect’ for those processes is typically interpreted by the Surveyor as a ‘Fail’ and negative actions follow. I think this typical type of resulting action is not professional, doesn’t respect Customer confidences and doesn’t facilitate ‘Coaching’ and the continuous process improvement necessary for all competitive organizations. -The learned behavior for the Customer is then to not provide quality, thoughtful feedback when that is critically necessary for all competitive organizations.
