My initial car buying experience with Stateline was overall good. The staff is knowledgeable about the vehicles and is very friendly at first. This was the third vehicle that my household has purchas overall good. The staff is knowledgeable about the vehicles and is very friendly at first. This was the third vehicle that my household has purchased from this dealership in the last three years. All of our previous experiences were good as well. During the sales process I made it very clear that I did not want to go over 72 months financing, however when I went in to the finance office I was at 75 months. I was not happy with this, but was honestly tired of negotiating and overall felt like I was getting a fair deal. My experience in the finance office was initially good as well - the associate was very friendly and not too pushy on the extended warranties and such. I did purchase gap coverage and what I thought was an extension of the service (oil changes) for four years on top of the initial 2 years provided by Jeep. I even asked the associate to make sure that this was six years total. A couple of weeks ago I received a letter in the mail regarding this warranty - as it turns out it's four years from the date of purchase, not four on top of the 2. It was a good deal for four additional years but way overpriced for what I ended up with. At this point I have lost my 'happiness' with the sales experience because their 'good word' is no longer so 'good'. At the time the sale was made I did tell the sales person that I had two keys to my trade in. I expressed to him that I only had one with me and would need to go home to find the other key. I had both keys the previous week when I took the vehicle to have the oil changed, so yes I did give them my 'good word' that I had the key. The night of the purchase we agreed upon the price long before closing time and I waited, and waited, and waited to get into the finance office (this is to be expected at any dealership). Finally after I was out of the finance office I went to get into my new vehicle and drive off, only to find that there was about 1/4 tank of gas. I went back in and spoke with the sales person who said that it slipped his mind to take it before the front desk clerk left. At this time I suggested that I come back on Friday to get the gas and bring the key (I was told that the sales person was off work the next day). I came back to the dealership Friday evening and explained to the sales person that I have looked everywhere for the key and I cannot find it for some reason. He asked that I continue looking for it and I let him know that I would and if I was able to locate it that I would definitely bring it by. I was contacted on one other occasion by the sales manager regarding the key. When I attempted to return his call he was unavailable. I then received another call (a month after my vehicle purchase) at 9:30am on a Saturday morning from the sales manager who left a voice mail explaining that he wanted to check in on the key. I had been up late the night before from traveling and was still asleep - at first, no biggie, after all it was 9:30. I go back to sleep - then 20 minutes later I get another call from a different # with an area code that is not local and this person does not leave a voice mail. I get up and call this number back - the person on the other line answers with 'Yes' - I asked the person, who is this, I just had a missed call from this number. The person on the other line then expressed 'you're calling from a blocked number, who is this?'. Eventually I find out that it was the sales person - at this point I am disgusted with how he answered the phone and his attitude - yes, I was very upset at this point and expressed this to him in a not so friendly manner (which I felt was warranted after the manner in which he answered his phone). After this I called in to the dealership and asked to speak with a General Manager - I asked what their policy is for calls out in the mornings - to which he stated that they start calling around 9:30 or 10. At this point I expressed my disgust with being called more than once from different numbers after a person had already left a voicemail - both calls before 10am. I expressed to him that I am not upset that they are looking for the key but do not feel that the second call or way that I was spoken to by the sales person was very professional. To this the manager did not make any effort to apologize, simply started in about the key again, stating that they sold the vehicle, told the other owner that they had 2 keys on my 'good word' and now they have to have it. I expressed to him that at the time I came in and informed the sales person that I was unable to locate the second key my trade was still on the lot, etc. at which time he stated that I need not worry about the key. A few minutes later I get a text message from the sales person stating 'I'm a grown man, don't disrespect me by cussin at me and act like I'm bothering you. You told me you had it'. This is what really set me off - I felt that this was very unprofessional and rude. Part of customer service is helping to diffuse situations, not provoke further confrontation. At this time I responded that it has been taken care of and did not further escalate the situation. This was a very disappointing experience, I am very disappointed in how the sales manager and sales person dealt with this situation. Yes, I was upset and irate at the situation, however getting an attitude back with an upset customer does nothing but escalate the situation. I no longer have the 'happy' attitude about Stateline and will not be recommending them to anyone and want to make sure that others are aware of this. More

Both Tom and Joe were very accommodating without being aggressive. They understand customer service! I enjoyed the time Joe took to take me on test drives and talk about different cars. His objectivity aggressive. They understand customer service! I enjoyed the time Joe took to take me on test drives and talk about different cars. His objectivity with brands and his affiliate (FIAT) were very impressive. He is the consummate professional. Tom gave me an opportunity to really make a decision by allowing me to take the car for a day. Although I did not purchase the initial car I came back and did buy one that really fit my overall needs. By testing the car for more than 15 minutes I was able to come to that decision very clearly. My sales rep was Andrea and she was very nice and felt like she really cared, not just making a sale. It was very good to know that i was spending my money with someone who actucally cared. She also helped me with talking with my Granddaddy and helping me pick the perfect car for me. Also helping me by being honest with me and assiting me the right car that was also good for my income.
