The Starling family has been in the retail automotive industry in Central Florida since 1948. Prior to becoming the Chevrolet dealer in Kissimmee, FL, Carroll Starling worked for Commercial Credit in Orlando, FL financing cars for local dealers and their retail customers. In addition to his duties as the Chevrolet dealer in Kissimmee FL, Carroll also served as a City Commissioner in Kissimmee for over 12 years and was involved in the early years of the Walt Disney World project that transformed Central Florida and the state of Florida.
His son Alan, became the dealer in 1975 at the age of 26 after returning from military service. Both the businesses and the surrounding communities grew exponentially throughout the 70’s and 80’s, with the population of Central Florida surpassing one million residents. Alan continued in his fathers footsteps of community involvement and was appointed by the Governor of Florida to sit on the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority on two different occasions, and also headed the Economic Development Council in the years prior to his role as the Florida Director for the National Automobile Dealers Association, which culminated in his election as the Chairman of NADA in 2003.
Three of Alan’s sons, Jack, Walker, and Andrew represent the third generation of Starling dealers in Central Florida and each work in and run Starling Chevrolet Cadillac in DeLand, Starling Chevrolet in Orlando, and Starling Chevrolet Buick GMC in St Cloud, FL.

The staff that I dealt with at Starling Chevrolet in St Cloud were welcoming, patient and eager to help. They showed me the choices that were available in new cars and two were test driven. Disappointing and Misleading Experience at Starling Chevrolet Buick GMC We recently had an extremely frustrating experience with Starling Chevrolet Buick GMC that I feel compelled to share. After dr Chevrolet Buick GMC We recently had an extremely frustrating experience with Starling Chevrolet Buick GMC that I feel compelled to share. After driving an hour and a half, based on a worksheet they provided, we were shocked to be informed upon arrival that there had been a "transposition" error in the numbers. This significant mistake was not communicated to us beforehand, despite our long travel time specifically for this deal. The lack of transparency and professionalism displayed by the dealership was appalling. Waiting until a customer shows up after a lengthy journey to disclose such a vital error is unprofessional and shows a lack of respect for the customer's time and effort. It's disheartening to see a dealership engage in such practices. The entire experience was a waste of time and energy. It's clear that customer satisfaction is not a priority for Starling Chevrolet Buick GMC. Their approach was inconvenient and indicative of a deeper issue with their business practices. It felt like a classic bait-and-switch tactic, which is unacceptable in any industry, especially when dealing with significant purchases like a vehicle. I strongly advise anyone considering doing business with Starling Chevrolet Buick GMC to reconsider. Plenty of other dealerships value honesty and integrity, qualities that this dealership evidently lacks. Please don't waste your time with a business that doesn't respect its customers or their commitments. More
