I visited this dealership near my home on November 8th after visiting Hyundai across the street. I was primarily just "looking" at cars to get into for the new year. I didn't think I could afford a car until at least January. I walked into the lot and was greeted by the super friendly Sean. He asked questioned me about my reason for visiting Star Toyota. I explained to him that I was just generally looking at cars, and possibly trading in my 1999 Honda Civic in January of next year or so. He asked me why so long and I told him that I didn't think I could afford to buy a car at this time. He stated that the dealerships worked with several lenders, and that he would try his best to see if he could get me into a newer car sooner. He asked what cars I liked and was looking for and I told him that I had pretty much looking at Hyundai's (Korean)- since I had owned a 2008 Hyundai before. - I also mentioned that I preferred roomy cars as my family is large and we go on trips often. He told me that he did not have that many Hyundai's in his lot at the time - and when he showed me what he had, I wasn't impressed - he then asked if I didn't mind looking at Japanese cars as in Toyota's. I told him I did not mind as my dad has driven only Toyota's for the past 20+ years and swears by them. I suggested the Corolla, but he informed me that Camry's are much roomier than the Corolla. Now I have no real knowledge of cars, so I went with his suggestion. We took a 2011 with very low mileage for a test-drive. The car was virtually new. Ooohhhh I was in love. It was all decked out too. I really wanted to have that one but it was too expensive for me to finance. So I looked at an 09 and loved that one too. And it came with several extras. I decided to go with the 09 just because it was cheaper to finance. Sean was great throughout the process. He was patient with me - even when I became impatient at times and threw him a curve-ball, he stayed on top of things and would say to me "My goal is to get you into the right car." - he guided me through the finance process. He got me a great deal for my 99 Honda. He kept me informed throughout the whole process. He even helped with the switching of my insurance from the Honda to the Camry. He switched the plates. To top it off I received a navigation system from I believe his manager, Ray. I couldn't stay to wash the car at the time of pick-up, so they offered me to bring it back another time for a wash. These guys were top of the line. I forgot to mention that I had also visited Plaza Toyota in Brooklyn the same day, but after I met Sean at Star. My dad had been purchasing his Toyota's from there for several years - he lives in Brooklyn - so I decided to check them out. I was completely turned off by their service. The staff was rude and indifferent, my dad had told me to ask for a particular salesman who he had dealt with in the past. When I asked for him, I was looked at as though I had several heads on my body. The salesman who approached me - I forget his name - abruptly tells me that "this is a high turnover job Ma'am, people don't stay in one place too long" - guess he'll be long gone from Plaza now that I'm writing this review. Reluctantly I decided to go over my requirements with him. This rude man took me over to a desk that was near the window IN THE SUN. I was squinting for a while until I realized I had my sunglasses and put them on. Then he asked me is the sun bothering you Ma'am? What did you think genius? I got on the phone with my dad during this sit down to get his information about his past purchases, so that maybe I could get a deal, and even my dad who is very patient and understanding, was getting annoyed by the questions and answers he could hear this salesman giving me in the background. So when dad told me to leave I did. After that experience I was reluctant to even deal with salesmen alone as a female, but thank goodness I met Sean earlier that day. I am extremely happy with my Camry. I have gotten so many compliments on it. A man just came up to me at the gas station to admire it. He thought it was the 2012. GREAT WORK YOU GUYS AT STAR! YOU JUST EARNED A REPEAT CUSTOMER!!! More

Managers Scott Salzman, Jose Cruz and Richard Provenzano really made me feel like they wanted me as a customer, and not like they were doing me a favor. Very refreshing this day and age. Finance manager John Trigali was very informative and explained everything clearly during the financial part of buying the car. Every one on the delivery team was great showing me all the new gadgets my new car came with and answering my questions. I hope to remain a Star Toyota customer for a long time to come. I went in looking for a used car with little to no knowledge of purchasing cars. Since it was my first car I didn't know what to look for or expect. That's when I met Ram Gohil who came up to me to offer his service. At first I was a little skeptical because of all the things we all hear about car dealers. But I can actually say he was very helpful and knowledgeable about the cars and which one would best fit my needs. I was unsure of what car I was interested in, and just had an estimate of what monthly payment would work for me. Ram helped me view several options available for me, and walked me through the entire process. He even helped work everything out with my loan and financing, and found the best deal for me. Before I knew it was owner of Certified Pre-Ownwed Nissan Rogue which I am extremely happy with. This was my first car and I couldn't be happier with the car and the service I received.Ram always found time to avail himself to accommodate my busy schedule. He went above and beyond my expectations to ensure that everything was done in a timely hassle-free manner and was in touch with me on a daily basis until the deal was finalized. I highly recommend anyone looking to purchase a new or used vehicle from to work with him. Ram is very professional, efficient and honest. Couldn't ask for anything more! Christina and Anthony were very professional, personable, and efficient. They answered all my questions over the course of a few weeks. Before driving out of the dealership, Johann gave me an overall lesson on the operation of the car. He did a great job and was also extremely personable and willing to answer any questions. Anthony made a follow-up phone call to me within 24 hours of picking up my new car to see how everything was. It was greatly appreciated, and I will definitely recommend this dealership to family and friends who are in the market for a Toyota. More

I only wish I had called Star first!! After getting the run around from several different dealerships, I called Star. I made an a appointment with Richard Dumont and came in later that day. Went to them for a used car against the warning of a friend that said they were crooks, thinking, "how bad could it be?" The used car office itself is not very attractive in appearance, giving it an unp friend that said they were crooks, thinking, "how bad could it be?" The used car office itself is not very attractive in appearance, giving it an unprofessional and "sketchy" feel right off the bat. A salesperson, Erick, showed us the car that we were interested in and took it for a test drive. He seemed to very new, and since the car itself was not a Toyota/Scion, he was not very knowledgeable about the car, save for some generic facts about the make. The car was in below average cosmetic condition, with many scratches and small dents on the body and wheels as wheel, so we expected the price to reflect that. Unfortunately, it did not. After about an 1-2 hours of finagling, we couldn't agree on a financed price that would achieve our desired monthly payments and decided to leave. It was then that the manager, Ray, gave us a final offer, saying, "If we sell you the car at such and such price and $2000 down so that it meets $XXX/month for 72 months, will you take the car today?" We said yes and they proceeded to write it up, submit our info for credit approval, and so forth. We arranged for final paperwork to be signed and the car to be picked up the next day, and we left. We call them the next day to ask if the car is ready, they said yes, so we drove over. We arrive and we wait for about 20 minutes. We ask how much longer it will take, understanding that since we were registering the vehicle out of state that it may take longer than usual, and they said probably another hour. Why did they tell us it was ready when it clearly wasn't? Who knows. We were also told that the car would be completely detailed and cleaned for us when we come to pick it up, and it clearly was not touched at all until the moment we got there, where a young teenaged kid that probably knows nothing of car detailing began "cleaning" it to give us the impression that it had been underway before we came. Not wanting to wait around any longer, we leave and tell them that we will come back on the weekend in the morning, 2 days later. Ray calls us up later, apologizing and says he will give us a GPS for our inconvenience. We come back in 2 days, ready to finish things up. We take a look at the car again, it is still dirty, undetailed, clearly just put back in its spot after we left the other day, whatever. We proceed to sign a bunch paperwork. Finally, we get to the only form that matters, saved for last of course, with the agreement for the payments. Magically, the monthly payment has increased by $100 more than what we agreed on the other day, and for only 60 months instead of 72. Ray acts confused/surprised, goes to check out why this is, and comes back saying that it is much better this way because the rate is much lower and we will be much better off. We tell him we can't afford this, so we cannot make the deal. Of course, he tries to convince to still buy it, asking if we can put more money down, etc, etc, trying to convince us that we can afford it in our budget, etc, etc. We cut ties and left. Clearly, we have our reasons for wanting a specific monthly payment, and if you as the dealer are trying to HAGGLE THE CUSTOMER'S BUDGET, you must be doing something wrong. It is apparent now that when Ray made the final offer to us on the first day, he had not run our credit yet and received the approval for the 72 month financing, so he was clearly just telling us what we wanted to hear to make the sale and keep from losing a sale, with the intent of trying to goad/force us into making a deal that we don't want later on. Long story short, stay away. These people really are crooks. More
I bought a used 2008 Rav4 from Star and I am very satisfied with the dealership and especially John Bosco. John Bosco really cared about what you wanted and showed you the right cars. He was also an honest, no pressure guy who really cared what you wanted. All questions were answered honestly and they gave us a Toyota certified car that runs amazing well. John also got an excellent deal on the vehicle.I think this is one of the best car buying experiences I have had. 5 stars to John Bosco and Star Toyota!! More
