In early Dec, 2012 I purchased a used X5 BMW from the Star Toyota used facility. The purchasing process was ok. It took them 4 hours to process everything which seemed a little long, especially since t Star Toyota used facility. The purchasing process was ok. It took them 4 hours to process everything which seemed a little long, especially since they were helping other customers instead of finishing my paperwork and I was waiting for them with my wife and 2 year old daughter! In addition to that, Tom charged me a $1300 “bank fee” which after a little research, apparently I’m not the only one with this issue. On top of that, Tom told me that I was obligated to purchase the $2000 warranty in order to get financing for the vehicle. Within 2 days of my purchase, all the dash lights came on like a Christmas tree. This lead to an enormous amount of problems between myself and your staff to which I will describe below in order of occurrence. Initially after these mechanical problems arose, I spoke to sean and promptly returned the vehicle to have the following checked: 1. Engine Failsafe Program, Transmission Fail Safe Program, ABS Lights, Etc 2. Mismatched alloy wheels, & corresponding tires. (And the inadequate shape of the tires on the existing rims) 3. Inadequate Brakes On Dec. 10th I returned the vehicle to Star Toyota and was told that all of these issues would be resolved quickly. I left these issues alone as this point and decided I would pursue them upon return of my car in proper working order. After approximately 1 week, I spoke to Sean regarding my repairs in which he told me to contact Gennaro. At that point I called Gennaro and he assured me that my car was being worked on and will be finished soon. After another week I called back, asking when my car would be ready. At this point I was informed that my car was being sent to BMW for service. Many phone calls and days later, I located my own car at BMW of Bayside and learned that my car wasn’t delivered there until Dec. 27th and the repairs would be completed the following Friday for me to pick up. Long story short, I was without a car for both major holidays, I have a wife & 2 year old daughter and we had to borrow cars and take the bus for 3 weeks and all that happened was BMW replaced a few things that took one day! Upon receipt of my vehicle (January 2nd), I learned that not all the work had been completed. The brakes were not done. The wheel had not replaced, and add to that my existing tires upon further inspection from myself were in poor condition. Star Toyota obviously lied on their NYS Inspection on my vehicle. Gennaro informed that I was to reschedule my vehicle to bring it back to them for them to complete the brakes and replace the wheel. I told him that that was NOT going to happen because they took too long before. So, Gennaro said to supply them with an estimate from my preferred service center and that I would be refunded the cost of a new rim, tire and complete brake job. Of course, I never received a phone call back when I was promised and after following up today, I was informed that they would not be issuing me a refund, instead I have to bring my car back to them. This is an incredible dishonest dealership and should not even be in business. Unless then issue me the proper refund for my wheel, & brakes, I will continue to pursue this venture all the way up to Toyota corporate if necessary. More
I had a pleasant experience with scott when I purchased the vechile. I had a problem wirh the installation of the autostart and alarm but anthony cruz quickly remedied it and even got me money back for my the vechile. Usually we do not write any review. But this time, we felt like we absolutely have to, since we got such a ROYAL treatment from Star Toyota of Bayside all the way though our car buying experience. Every single person we met was so courteous and attentive! First, we were greeted by Ronald Cordero (Sales Consultant), who was very polite and professional, he quickly located the vehicle we were looking for and once we presented the quote from some other dealer, he was able to beat it – no pressure, no negotiations, no hidden fees, nothing. At the end we got the BEST PRICE we could get across many dealerships in NYC, NJ and Long Island. While we were waiting for our new Toyota Highlander to arrive, he quickly prepared all the documents, called our insurance company and arranged everything with the finance manager, since we were financing our purchase. So far everything was too good to be true and we anticipated some catch down the road . Then we met with John Tringali, who was a finance manager. He already got all our papers and bank pre-approval (btw, we got 0% APR for 60 month and were very happy with it). So, we got into his office and he was started to explain what are various additional services that we could buy. He spend a good amount of time to make sure that we understand all our options, going feature by feature of each package and clearly explaining the pricing of each. At the end, we did not buy anything extra (since we were on the budget) and he did not pressure us at all into it and respected our decision. We have been to other dealerships where they almost make you buy something and make you feel guilty for not doing so – it was absolutely not the case here. Everything was done very professionally! By the time we were done with all the paperwork, our car was waiting for us outside, where we were greeted by Peter (do not recall his last name). Peter put our plates in place and spent a lot of time with us showing us around the vehicle, demoing various controls and features, pairing my Bluetooth, etc. Congratulated us on the purchase we happily left. All in all, we had very relax and pleasant buying experience. I never imagined that I would ever say it about buying a car. This dealership is more of an exception than a rule and I will highly recommend it to all my friends and relatives. Also, please do not be put off by the fact that this dealership on a smaller side and not as fancy and modern as some other ones that we visited over last couple of weeks, were we did not get any personal attention and were treated in a “conveyor” like manner. I really wanted to thank Ronald, John and Peter for making us feel at home, our stressless experience and awesome price that we got on our new 2013 Toyota Highlander. Guys, you are the best! More
This dealer has a lot of free offers at the time to buy the vehicle, I bought mine with paid maintenance agreement, after my first visit they were obligated to have an oil change after I reviewed the paper the vehicle, I bought mine with paid maintenance agreement, after my first visit they were obligated to have an oil change after I reviewed the paperwork of what was done in the car they didn't do the oil change and they charged for it. The dealer is deceiving the company that pay my car maintenance and myself as a client. I recommend people who want to service from this dealer to check paperwork after they performed the work. Please don't trust this dealer service department. More

I thought I will ever get approved for a car, but all I can say " Look at me nooooow " YES !!!! I like o thank my cousin bringing me to Star Toyota of Bayside, and their great staff including my salesma can say " Look at me nooooow " YES !!!! Helped me get myself a black 2011 Camry xle with only 5100 miles, only 5k miles !!!! His finance guy Tom did what he does best along with his Sales manager, handed me a FREE navigation as I was walking Out the door, small gift but the thought counts, Thank You Sean and everyone for your help, what a friendly staff !!!!
