Could be due to the fact that the car was sitting on the lot for almost a year. Took it to Star Hyundai for service, but unfortunately I had a horrible experience. First time I took the car in, they had it for two days and did not perform any work. No phone calls with updates, nothing. When I called 2 days later to find out what was happening with the car, the service adviser said that they would need to keep the car for longer and I could go to pick up a loaner. I arranged a way to get to the service center, and when I got there he changed the story rather quickly. In his defense, apparently, the 'corporate' wasn't approving the loaner and it was past 5 p.m. so no one was available to talk to. First of all, the corporate has nothing to do with giving out a loaner car. Then the service adviser tells me he doesn't want to be in the middle of it. What kind of response is that? I did not want to deal with it at that hour, hence asked for my car back for the weekend since it would just sit at their shop anyway. They gave the car back and asked me to take it back the following week when the parts arrive. Again, next week arrived but no one called to let me know that the parts came; I had to call again to inquire and make an appointment. This time I was promised for the work to be done on the same day since they had already done the diagnosis, and couldn't give me a loaner (for the second time). So, I believed his words and took the car in at 7 am. As promised, I was told that the car would be done by 3.30 pm. 4 o'clock came, no call, no update. When I called to see what was going on, they guy tells me the car isn't ready and that I should wait for his call. If someone promises you the car by 3.30, I think it is pretty fair to say that I should've gotten a call before or around that time to let me know that they wouldn't be able to keep the promised time. Instead the guy starts shouting at me, and tells me "the car is not ready, what you gonna do?" Is this a professional business or what? I have never experienced such horrible customer service and intimation by any customer service centered business before. I truly hope I never have to go back to this establishment ever again. More
