I am following up on a previous review I had just recently posted. What started off as a very positive experience with STAR, has turned negative once we pulled off the lot. In the brief aftermath of my used car purchased, I have had to come up with an extra $500 to cover "mistakes" that were made by the dealership in relation to TTL and also my trade in Tax credit. I live in Louisiana, but made the purchase in Mississippi. Both these topics were discussed prior to my purchase and I was assured that neither would present a problem. Now, I am unable to register the car until these items are paid. The details are much to cover, but in the end, I feel very deceived by the dealership. I feel they definitely knew this would later be a problem, but was playing the "numbers game" and misrepresented the information. When these issues arose, I called and spoke with by salesperson, Cody, and expressed my disappointment and frustration. I asked in good faith if he could help by at least refunding the "doc fees" I was originally charged to help off-set these unexpected expenses (as the dealership didnt handle by TTL in the end). I was giving them the opportunity to make it right. I was told they would not. Lastly, I ll take the blame for this one, but still feel other buyers should know....I have also since learned that two of the tires need almost immediately replacement (one had a plug and was slowing leaking). They were mounted facing in, as not to show the wear. I should have inspected them more closing myself but since it was just myself and my daughter, it was overlooked. I had also specifically asked about the condition of the tires prior to our 1.5 hr drive to see the car and was told that they were fine (car has only 33,000 miles). It saddens me how this situation played out. I thought I was dealing with a honest business. As a result, I would not buy from Star again nor recommend them. More
