I began my experience with Star of Easton online when I requested a quote. Almost immediately, I began working with John Hershey in the Online Department. John answered all of my questions in a timely, courteous, professional manner. He texted me and we spoke on the phone and not once did I feel pressured to make a deal. I was comparing Easton to Quakertown trying to get the best deal and not once did John give me a negative feeling. After reviewing both offers, Quakertown was winning, when I mention this to John, he told me Easton could match the deal and,because of the quality of his customer service and willingness to go the extra mile for me, (Including the use of a giant red bow for the unveiling of my Wife's Acadia for her birthday present) I choose Easton! Once I arrived at your Easton Dealership, I was greeted by John and introduced to Doug Davidson to finish my deal. Doug answered all of my questions and concerns and my car was ready to go even before I signed any papers, got my trade appraised or even took the Acadia for a test drive. Doug had me fill out a few forms and before I knew it I was done! My trade was appraised and in order to keep my monthly payment to the number I was quoted, I was given extra on my trade to close the deal. Not once did I experience any of the old time haggling over price that usually goes with buying a new car. I named my price and Doug and John Made it happen. That was very refreshing. After Doug explained all of the paperwork to me and graciously installed my roof rack cross rails, I was off to give my wife her Birthday present. I wish you could have seen her face when our daughters presented her with the keys to her brand new Acadia! The giant red bow was a nice touch, Thanks John. Overall, this was by far, the best car buying experience I have experienced. The knowledge, experience and professionalism shown to me was first rate. I would highly recommend Star of Easton, in particularly John and Doug, to anyone looking to purchase a new vehicle. Star "had" a 2011 Enclave, Mocha with DVD player and 24k miles listed for $33,581 that I was interested in buying. I communicated via live chat on Wed 5/2/2012 about driving 4 hours from Nor player and 24k miles listed for $33,581 that I was interested in buying. I communicated via live chat on Wed 5/2/2012 about driving 4 hours from Northern Virginia to Central PA to buy the car on a Saturday, 5/5/2012 and set the appointment for 2 pm. Continued live chat with questions about the Enclave on Wed & Thurs and indicated I may make the trip on Friday morning, 5/4/2012 instead. Live Chatter said if I was going to be there on Friday morning to call her so she could let the salesmen on the floor know this was an internet sale. Live chatter started asking if I was interested in only the Enclave, or was I interested in an Arcadia. I told her NO, only the Mocha Enclave. While we were both still online on Thursday afternoon I asked, "Is the Mocha Enclave still available?"......no response, then sign-off. At 6:53 PM Thursday Chatter sent e-mail and told me to bring a copy of that e-mail to show sales people it was an internet price....So at 4:30 am I left NOVA for PA....and after 4.5 hours I arrived at Star to be told there was already a "deal" on the car, but it might not go through, and would I be interested in a White Enclave. No. Talked to another sales person, would I be interested in a Denali? No. The Mgr, Joe, said the deal for the Mocha Enclave might not close for 3 days and he'd call back. No call. I called on Thursday and was told the deal was done and the buyer was going to pick up on Sat. Today is Friday, and I now see the car is once again listed on Cars.com and the Star Website, but for $36,581. You tell me, does this car exist? Or did they realize they could make an additional $3,000? I never received a single call or e-mail from the internet salesperson(chatter) Sophia...and only received a half-hearted apology from Joe. I took off and entire day of work, drove 450 miles and wasted 10 hours of my life for what can only be called "suspect" sales tactics. If you look at the tenure of the sales staff it might give some insight into their business practices....only 10% of staff have more than 1 year at Star. I'm thankful I didn't buy the car from them because I can only imagine what the after purchase care of the customer might be, especially being 4 hours away. If you choose to purchase a car from Star, be very careful because you can see their tactics are not exactly honest. More
I've been a customer at Star for over 16 years and I can honestly say they have been there for me. Our service advisor Doug has always made sure we are taken care of and delivers the best care for us and o honestly say they have been there for me. Thanks to individuals such as Doug and Mark is probably one of the reasons why we keep coming back. When friends or family asks us where we take our vehicles for service we happily say Star.
