Great first experience with Star Buick-GMC Having purchased only used cars for the past 20 years or so, I normally have mixed feelings about buying a car. I’m always excited about the prospect of owning a newer vehicle, but less than enthusiastic about the sales process and wondering what problems the car may have that the dealer may choose not to disclose. More times than not, I’ve come away from the process feeling that the dealer’s “best price” wasn’t really the best. Although I had stopped at Star Buick-GMC in the past, I hadn’t yet purchased a vehicle there. My overall experience was a very good one. My wife and I were warmly greeted by Adam Mihalko, who listened attentively as we described what we were looking for, and was patient as we moved from car to car, answering our questions and offering information about each vehicle. After we decided which car we wanted to pursue, we moved to my least favorite part of the process – the dreaded price negotiation. I mentioned to Adam that I don’t enjoy the “game”, and related a recent experience with another Lehigh Valley dealer whose “best price” wasn’t agreeable to us, and so we left disappointed, but with the understanding that it doesn’t always work out, and that’s OK. What really annoyed me was the call I received the next day asking me to come back in to discuss an “even better deal” than was offered previously. I was angry that they were willing to waste my time, and expected me to make another trip back to the dealership – needless to say, I didn’t go back. We discussed our offer with Adam, and he, in turn, relayed it to his management (John G. and Greg S.). As we fell a bit short of an agreeable price, we decided to leave and keep looking. Adam made another trip to his manager’s office and was able to help arrange the price we wanted. I appreciate that Adam acted on our behalf and respected the time investment we had made, and knew that we weren’t going to be back, even if a lower price was offered later. After the sale, Adam also took care of a minor issue with the car, which turned out to be nothing more than a blown fuse. As I mentioned, our experience with Adam and the folks at Star Buick-GMC was a very good one, and I will definitely consider buying from Star again. As I mentioned to Adam, if a dealer is honest with me and treats me fairly, I’ll likely be a return customer. I expect I’ll be back at Star again in the future. Walt C. More

With two boys and a REALLY hectic schedule, I couldn't afford to be without a car for even a day, and couldn't afford a great deal of time spent looking for one. With a little borrowed time with a rental car, we went to a few dealerships and dealt with a few salespeople, but didn't feel the sense of trust that we had hoped for, nor the right car for me. A couple of days later and a little more research done online led me to Star, accompanied by my two boys. Ryan walked right up to us and within a few short minutes, we were test driving our next car! (And trustworthy? Completely.) In a situation like this, you find yourself jumping through a lot of hoops to get out of the "in-between" of having transportation, from dealing with the police and the tow company, to dealing with the repair shop and then with the insurance company. Ryan made the rest of the process easy, and made the process of buying my car "fun". He was accommodating, knowledgeable, helpful and personable, and thankfully didn't use the high-pressure sales tactics we experienced elsewhere. (And did I mention that I LOVE my new-to-me SUV?) The next time I'm in the market, I'm skipping the hassle of going anywhere else and am going straight back to Ryan at Star. I highly recommend him to anyone who prefers to avoid the sales tactics and who wants an easy and fun car buying experience! Thank you, Ryan!!! We'll be back! (But hopefully not too soon!) More

He answered our many questions, and was honest and fair when it came to pricing. When we returned six months later, Dave remembered our family, not just our face and name. Dave asked about our daughters, who were with me during our first interaction six months ago. He remembered their teenage "spunk", as well as where they went to school and where they worked part time. Dave made our second car buying experience a pleasurable one.
