Best Purchasing Experience of My Life DISCLAIMER: Much of my personal professional history has centered in sales. Because of this, I have an intimate understanding of ’the game.’ This game DISCLAIMER: Much of my personal professional history has centered in sales. Because of this, I have an intimate understanding of ’the game.’ This game is, more often than not, a refined practice of inauthenticity: false smiles + unrealistic promises. Unfortunately, car dealerships often present the most overt expression of drama. Because of this, I have become exceptionally critical: I know to expect very little in terms of quality interaction at a car dealership. All of THAT said, Stamford Hyundai ABSOLUTELY blew my mind. Here’s why. ___ I honestly entered Stamford Hyundai carefully, with my guard up. I exited the dealership with a new friend, a new car, a better deal than I even knew was possible in my price range, and a tremendous sigh of relief like existential waves inside my body. The time in-between those two moments was unlike anything I have ever experienced (or even so much as HOPED to experience) at a car dealership. As a result of visiting Stamford Hyundai, I was able to trade my Ford Mustang in for $1000 above book; I met the world’s most surprising salesperson (Chris Matos) + his ingenious finance colleague (David Martinich); I saved more than $210/month on my car payment; and I landed myself in a NICER car than I had arrived in (despite expecting to move DOWN into a beater). My intention in shopping for a new car was to eliminate a certain portion of my monthly expense. My plan was to trade in my beautiful Ford Mustang for a far more affordable option. I just assumed that I would have to settle. But then I met Chris. By the time I left the lot, I was driving a BETTER, more luxurious car than I had arrived in, somehow having successfully met all of the financial goals I had carried along for the ride. Not only that, but Chris + his team stayed late (by almost two hours!) to help me close the deal. In more ways than I can effectively recount, this team has gone over + above on my behalf. Start to finish, the experience at Stamford Hyundai was SMOOTH. I didn’t even need to deal with the DMV! Everything was coordinated right one site (despite my out-of-state license!). In the time since purchasing my car, I have worked with Chris Matos, David Martinich, Dan (service), and Jess (sales). Every one of them has been a complete + pleasant surprise. I can honestly say that this dealership has exceeded EVERY expectation I could possibly think to hold. I cannot recommend them highly enough. If you’re interested in buying a car, I encourage you to consider test driving a Hyundai. When you do, make sure you deal with Stamford. Do yourself a favor when you go + ask for Chris. (If he’s unavailable, wait until he is.) If not him, then ask for Jess. Whoever you work with, prepare to be surprised. They’ll bend over backward to help you.
