In the middle of signing a credit application for the car I was purchasing, I was told that the car was sold to someone else. I then agreed to a car that was in the Danbury location with 34,444 miles. I lo I was purchasing, I was told that the car was sold to someone else. I then agreed to a car that was in the Danbury location with 34,444 miles. I looked the vehicle up and down before driving off the lot, but didn't think to check the mileage. When driving to work the next morning I noticed that the odometer was at 39,136. A couple of hundred miles more is understandable, but over 4,600 more is outrageous. I sent a picture of the mileage to my saleman and he agreed that was quite high and that the manager would get back to me. I then left a message for the manage, and another 2 days later and got him on the phone and was transferred to the finance department and was told, "what do you want us to do, roll back the mileage illegally?" All I was looking for was some financial compensation, because I am a reasonable person and understand that mistakes happen. I told the finance person that I expected a call back from the manger. 4 days later, I did not receive a call back and after multiple additional attempts to contact the manager and letting my salesman know that this needs to be addressed, I finally spoke to him. I asked for $1,000, the price that the car had dropped online the next day after I purchased it. He agreed to $500 and nothing more. This is the exact reason why car salesmen get a bad wrap, they only seemed concerned about getting me to purchase a vehicle for their benefit, not mine. I will never be purchasing a vehicle from Stamford Hyundai again or recommending them. More
