After purchase issue, treated unfairly I purchased a new Jeep Cherokee in March 2019. I love the car and it's fine. However, in June I was stopped by a state trooper and given a ticket for not displaying both license plates. The dealership had put an advertising plate of theirs on the front of my car. I had seen that but did not know that in VT it's illegal to not display both plates. I had no idea my plate was UNDER the advertising plate. I left the dealership with the new car (brand new, a significant purchase money-wise) and had no idea I was not legal. The fine was $245.00. I wrote a nicely worded letter to Nate Loschiavo along with a copy of the ticket and I got a response that said "we regret you got a ticket, but we are not responsible..... we try as best we can.....we appreciate your business..... " I am still outraged by this. I'm past middle age, I'm not a "car person" and I feel I depended on them as part of the sales price to have the registration, the inspection ect all legal. I drove over there from South Burlington, about a 2 hr trip to do business with a smaller dealership to avoid the "big business" feel of the local dealership. The fact this happened in our small state where fairness counts just makes this unfairness seem even more upsetting. More

Bought new 2019 Durango it had minor damage that dealership agree to fix. I paid for nano package. Drop car off next day they call said it was ready. Drive 2.5 hours one way to see it wasn’t done. They delivered it the following day covered in cow manure! What dealership would allow a brand new vehicle to be delivered to a new customer like that? Ed was the sales Mike was Admin? More

low trade-in, used vehicle we purchased failed NH inspection Buyers beware, our experience has been disappointing. We received an online instant cash offer from Kelley Blue Book for $11,237 on our full sized GM Buyers beware, our experience has been disappointing. We received an online instant cash offer from Kelley Blue Book for $11,237 on our full sized GMC pickup truck. Saint J is an authorized redemption dealership, so we took it there to have the value verified (supposedly a 20 minute process) and maybe find a used vehicle we could tow behind our RV. They had nothing in inventory that met our parameters (2014 or newer and under $11,000), but chose to show us a 2011 Toyota anyway that they said could be flat towed. Saint J reduced the Kelley Blue Book purchase offer by approximately $2,800 even though online sales for our truck are currently double at 16K and above. We are a retired couple on a fixed income, so refused their purchase offer. When we verified the Toyota could not in fact be flat towed, we left with our truck and a promised they would call us if anything came in that met our parameters. We felt like we wasted over two hours. The next day we went online and found a 2011 Jeep Compass with manual transmission that could be flat towed. We were surprised to discover that it had been at the same Saint J dealership all along; especially since I had specifically asked if there were any Jeeps available - even if they were older models and had been told no. Willing to give them another chance, we called and made an appointment to go look at it. We tried to negotiate a fair trade in but they were unwilling to budge on their saleprice or their purchase offer from the previous day. The Jeep had some small paint bubbles (rust beneath) we wanted addressed but after 2 more attempts we were only able to get $200 off their sale price. Not what we were hoping for but we decided to take a chance and made the deal. We were also assured that it would pass New Hampshire inspection. Two days later we discovered the emergency brake was extremely difficult to engage, did not securely hold the vehicle, did not disengage, and caused a binding problem. When we got a quote for the rust removal we were shocked that it was going to cost over $1,300. We then stopped by my mechanic shop and found out that it would not pass New Hampshire inspection without the emergency brake repaired. I called the sales manager, Michael Corey but was told he was unable to speak with me at this time. I have not yet received a return call to address these issues. We would like to keep the Jeep Compass, but feel it's only fair that they provide us with a vehicle that will pass inspection and split the cost of rust removal. Another odd thing is that Kelley Blue Book continues to send us emails with their original offer and asking do we still want to redeem??? More
