Horrible experience. We did buy a new MDX on the same day, but from a different dealer. I had already exchanged emails with the dealer staff, but when we got there, we were introduced to a different sale day, but from a different dealer. I had already exchanged emails with the dealer staff, but when we got there, we were introduced to a different salesman who seemed completely disinterested. I asked for a trade-in value for my car which took them 30 minutes for them to produce, during which time we were ignored by the salesman. I would have expected them to want to know whether we were looking for any options, finance etc, but there was nothing. Frankly, we would have left if they hadn't taken my keys to do the appraisal on my car. When they finally came back with a really low-ball offer for the trade, I explained that we had a much better offer elsewhere. The salesman went to speak to the appraiser who essentially accused us of lying - all within earshot! We left and went back to DCH Montclair and bought an MDX. If I'm going to spend over $40,000 on a car, I'm going to spend it somewhere that treats customers with some level of professional courtesy. There are several Acura dealers in NJ - I can't think of any reason to use Springfield Acura. More
I would stay away from Springfield Acura, they really lie to customers and pull cheap tricks on you. We were going to lease an MDX and from the very beginning made ourselves clear we were talking about th to customers and pull cheap tricks on you. We were going to lease an MDX and from the very beginning made ourselves clear we were talking about the car with the running board and the remote starter. While negotiating the price the salesman named Tony Spano kept saying "I can not lower the price, really, unless you guys give up those two features or decrease the mileage...", and we were saying "No, Tony, we need the running board, we have two little children, and we need the remote starter, the winters are so cold here...". However when writing the papers Tony did NOT include either of those features in the agreement, and we stupidly trusted him and did not check thoroughly. Sure enough when time came to pick up the car, they started to claim that the negotiations have been about the basic model without any additional features and hence is the price for it. When pressured Tony started to mumble that he does remember us "mentioning the additional features", and then he "does not remember" if we decided to take them or not. Well, we are very angry and pulling out of this deal. Please be very careful with Springfiled Acura, if you do go there have them sign every single statement they make and check check check what you are signing, for they are dishonest and not trustworthy. Overall experience was fine, personel was friendly, price (negotiated)was good. But sales person i dealed with lied that if i re-lease new car from them, i will not be responsible for overage in miles that i (negotiated)was good. But sales person i dealed with lied that if i re-lease new car from them, i will not be responsible for overage in miles that i had in my current lease because the dealership will take care of it. This was my turning point to lease the car from Springfield Acura, because at the other dealership i was told that Acura takes care of half of the miles which are over the contract (but not more than 7.5K). Later on, when i received the statement from Acura financial with an outstanding amount, the sales person denied saying/promissing that. He basically lied to me just to sell the car. Be aware and get everything they promisse in writing. More
I purchased a 2011 MDX at Springfield Acura because I found their sales staff far more accommodating and friendly than the other dealers I visited. Past experience has shown me that if a dealer has to l found their sales staff far more accommodating and friendly than the other dealers I visited. Past experience has shown me that if a dealer has to locate the car you've selected because its not on the lot, most likely you will get the same car (vin #) regardless of which dealer you choose to work with. Therefore it was very important to me to feel comfortable and confident with the dealer I chose. I experienced a quality issue with the new car, and Springfield Acura worked with the technical experts at Acura to resolve the problem to my complete satisfaction. Mr. Robert Avison, the General Manager, gave me personal attention to make sure the buying experience of this beautiful car remained very special for me. More
I did my research before looking for a dealer and I am very glad I found Springfield Acura. Richard was non-pushy and allowed freedom in looking at all aspects of the car, driving it around, and allowing me to get it looked at by a mechanic. (It was a pre-owned car.) The financial aspect of the transaction was handled in a courteous and straightforward way. I knew how much I wanted to pay for the car, and how much I wanted in a trade in...they worked with me to achieve something agreeable to us both. The also offered me a very reasonable rate for extending the warranty. All in all, Richard and John in financial were helpful, prompt, adaptable, and made the car-buying process much easier to bear. I was looking for a very rare color of car and just happened to find it at Springfield. I bought the car online with help from Alex. He did a great job getting all the accessories I wanted on the car w happened to find it at Springfield. I bought the car online with help from Alex. He did a great job getting all the accessories I wanted on the car within 24 hours. All I had to do was walk in and sign on the dotted line. Top notch customer service and a dealership that sticks to its price quotes. I would recommend this place and particularly the online sales dept. to anyone looking to buy a car. I've shopped online for 2 different types of cars this year, and Springfield Acura probably had the best response time and eagerness to sell of any of the dealers. More

We were given a very fair price and treated with respect. What was extremely impressive to me was how much Robert Avison and his staff went out of their way to help me with my leased car. I needed to wait about 6 days to return my leased car. Springfied Acura put my car in their secure lot, returned it to the Toyota dealer on my behalf, and even took the license plates to the DMV for me. They took a stressful situation for me and went over and beyond what a car dealership might normally do. They could not have been more helpful. They did everything they could to assure that my issues would be taken care of. Also, Robert and his staff were very courteous and called to provide updates as the leased car was being processed. I thank them very much for everything they did... This was the most enjoyable car buying experience I have ever had! By the way, my new 2011 MDX is awesome...truly amazing car! I am thoroughly enjoying it. Great dealer and terrific help!! More
Tony was so very patient with us - no pressure. We started looking in March of 2010 but then went into contract on the sale of our home and it was a long drawn out process (and you don't buy a car aft started looking in March of 2010 but then went into contract on the sale of our home and it was a long drawn out process (and you don't buy a car after applying for a mortgage!!). Finally, having moved into the new home, we went back 3 months later and he remembered us. He then took us on test drives (both separately) made sure our kids were occupied and that we were doing the best thing for them too - then we got cold feet - did we really need the 2nd car or could my husband walk to the station? My husband - the accountant - decided after the first cold walk to the station that we definitely needed the car but wanted to try and find a deal on the 2010 runout as it was now Sept. So we went back to Tony and he told us what he had in stock and what he could offer. I then spent the rest of Sept running from one dealer to the next in NJ trying to find that deal but definitely I was getting the most help and transparency from Tony. Eventually, we missed all the 2010s as we couldn't find the color we really wanted. Then Tony offered us a great deal on the 2011 (purchase) and every time we called him for more information or whether he could better someone else's offer he was never pushy, always did what he could and understood that we were trying to get the best deal. He always called straight back if we needed a response and was so reliable. We finally decided that even though we have a deal for $1500 less about 1/2 hour away, we wanted to work with Tony. We went back and spent an agonizing 2 hours with him because we couldn't decide on a color. We are now the proud owners of an MDX and I couldn't speak more highly of the assistance and patience that we received from Tony. The admin guy, John Neals, was also so very helpful and we ended up buying the additional completion insurance from him. Go to Springfield Acura - worth the trip from anywhere. The service and parts guys are also great to deal with - getting our plates from them and new mats. Ask for Tony!!! More
