However, we had such a very positive experience with purchasing our 2018 Prius Prime from Josh Prittie in April of 2024, that when we lost one of our key fobs, we decided to try your service/parts department to replace it. (We have owned Priuses since 2008 and have lost one key. We bought a replacement online and had a locksmith reprogram. It took several visits to get it right so thought this time we would try a dealer even though we knew it would be more expensive.) I called to order the part and held my breath at the $260 price tag plus $180 to install. (An OEM part on line was $110 with an entry key). We went forward with an appointment. My husband drove 2 hours from Erie to make the appointment, waited 1 hour 45 minutes and drove 2 hours home. Upon returning home we noticed that the service department forgot to ‘replace the entry key’. We called and found out to get the key was another $80. This is extortion. Every key fob sold on the internet, OEM or other, comes with a physical key. When I ordered the fob, it was never mentioned that the entry key would be $80 extra or that it was not included. Had I known that to get the set would have been $340 just for the fob and key I would have NEVER ordered it and would have bought the OEM part on line and looked for a local locksmith. We are now into a key fob without an actual key for $440, shame on us for ever trusting a dealer again. We are loyal Prius buyers but we will never buy any car or service from Spitzer Toyota again. Can’t say enough about this group. I was looking for a certain non-Toyota car and was frustrated with quality of interactions from sales folks. My wife loves Spitzer (particularly jame I was looking for a certain non-Toyota car and was frustrated with quality of interactions from sales folks. My wife loves Spitzer (particularly james in service who is a customer service legend) for how she has been treated in sales and service. She finally had enough and forced me to go to Spitzer. Wow! What a difference. Our sales associate Adeel was incredible! He was patient, listened to what I wanted and we had a conversation about cars that would fit that weren’t even on his lot. In the end he found us a car that had most of what I was looking for a lot less money than cars I had looked at on other lots and he even came in on his time off to accommodate our tight schedules. Great guy and an honest salesperson who was fun to work with. Kyle in finance was friendly, honest, and got us a great deal. I’ve dealt with a lot of finance guys who will do anything to sell you packages you don’t need at closing. Kyle had a conversation with us to show what was offered and what it would do and I felt I was with an advisor, not a high pressure salesman. This is a dealership that invests in relationships. Highly recommend this group. More
