On June 3rd we traded in a vehicle as part of the purchase of a new Telluride. Our salesman, Paul, took the license plate from our trade-in and put it on our new Telluride. We signed the necessary do purchase of a new Telluride. Our salesman, Paul, took the license plate from our trade-in and put it on our new Telluride. We signed the necessary documents for Spitzer Kia to register the new Telluride and transfer the plates from the trade-in to the Telluride. In August we received a letter from the state to renew the registration of the trade-in. This alerted us to the fact that a) the license plate on the Telluride is still registered to our trade-in, and b) the Telluride is not registered at all. This means that Spitzer had never registered the Telluride and had never transferred the plates. At the time of our sale, Paul told us on several occasions, “the sale doesn't end today!” and we could contact him anytime if we needed help with anything regarding our new Telluride. We called Paul that same day to find out what happened with the registration and how to resolve the issue. He could not give us proper details for several days. We wanted to know if we needed to officially transfer the plates or get new plates. At one point he asked us how close we lived to the title bureau and the BMV and suggested going to both to 'see what they say'. This is ridiculous advice considering Spitzer Kia should have taken care of this already. I am sure we were not first customers to ever have this issue so it's unbelievable how we couldn't get proper information. Ultimately he told us that we need to get new plates and Spitzer Kia would mail a reimbursement for the registration that they did not do ($50) and would also mail a memorandum title so we could get the new plates. A week passed and we did not receive anything in the mail. We called Paul and did not hear back from him (to this day we've never heard back from Paul), so we called the dealership directly and spoke with Kim who advised that nothing had been mailed to us and no checks had been drawn. At this time she assured us that she would make sure the $50 reimbursement would be drawn for us to pick up and she emailed a copy of the memorandum title to us. Since we've had this trouble, she was also was able to work out that when we register the Telluride we can bring in the receipt and be reimbursed for that as well. Through Kim, we requested a call from Freddy, the GM, so we could express our displeasure with Paul. She let us know that Freddy was not working that day, but should would let him know we're expecting a call. The next day, Freddy never called. We followed up to try and reach him but were again told that he was not working that day. Despite not hearing from him, we were satisfied with this conclusion and thankful for Kim's help. After we registered the vehicle and got the new plates, we emailed a copy of the receipt to Kim so that we could pick up both checks at the same time. She promptly called and did not understand what this receipt was for. At this point she told us they would only reimburse $10 for a plate transfer. Again, we had been instructed by Paul that we needed to get NEW plates, so we did not do a plate transfer. Kim needed to speak with management about this and we let her know that we had yet to hear from Freddy and would still like to speak with him. He never called that day. The next morning we called Kim again to follow up on the reimbursement and she instructed us that they would not reimburse us for the registration. We again asked to speak with Freddy and were told yet again told that he was not working that day. To say we are extremely dissatisfied with this service is an understatement. More
