New Car I went to Sparks on a Saturday knowing exactly what I wanted. As soon as I parked my car, a salesman approached me. No surprise there. I told him what I went to Sparks on a Saturday knowing exactly what I wanted. As soon as I parked my car, a salesman approached me. No surprise there. I told him what I was looking for and he went to see what was inventory and he told me he found one in Georgia and can have it to me in the middle of the week. So, we went on to discuss price and negotiated to where it was an acceptable deal. I went ahead and signed the papers. Monday morning rolls around and I get a call saying that the car I wanted and agreed to purchase is in face not available. Sigh! How can you sell me a car without being sure it was available. Well, we do this all the time because we can always get you another even if it's not exactly the same as what you wanted and we were not sure that the dealer in GA would be willing to trade until we contacted them. That was the response I got. Hhmmm....don't you think you should have checked all that before you promised me that car and I gave you a deposit on that particular car?? Well, they found another car, in port, with slightly different specifications and a lower price but they still wanted me to pay the price we negotiated on the car with more options. No, I don't think so. Back and forth we went and had to talk to the sales manager to come to an agreement and a new price. Then....they are not sure when the car would be in. I sold my car and delivered based on the fact that the car I wanted and put a deposit on would be delivered on a certain day. So, here I was with no vehicle for several days because Sparks sold me something they didn't have and couldn't actually get. My car is finally in....I'd be looking for financing. I asked the sales rep what my interest rate on financing with SETF and he couldn't answer me and he said he would have to talk to the finance guy. Never got an answer. He kept pushing for me to get there and get the car on his schedule because he wanted it to count towards sales for that month. Not what was convenient for me. Not when I could get a ride. When it was convenient for them. I received the car and it was missing the rubber mats as promised. When I asked about it, the sales rep seemed frustrated that he had to deal with that. He went back to get the rubber mats but couldn't find the one for the cargo area!! He'll have to check on that and get back to me. Which means I have to follow up and make sure things get done instead of them happening properly in the first place as promised. So, I had to make another trip the following week for the cargo mat only to find out that it had been there all along and he just didn't look in the right place. This wouldn't be an issue except that the dealership is about 30 minutes away without traffic. Financing was a whole other issue....I have an exceptional credit score and I'm not bragging. The rate that they gave me was outrageous. At that point, I had no choice but to finish the process and work on getting my own financing later. Overall - I love the car. Toyotas sell themselves and that's why they don't have to try hard to make sure the customer is satisfied and happy. They could care less because if you don't buy someone else will come in and buy it. Sparks does not go out of their way to make sure that the customer is happy at all!! Financing More
