Sparks has lost a loyal customer. I bought a 2017 RAV4 from Leon Johnson on 5/2/2020. This is the second car I have purchased from Leon, who has been nothing but kind, honest and not condescending like most salesmen are when dealing with a female buyer. I was given a firm offer (sight unseen) for my 2001 Avalon by Todd Blackwell. Todd GAVE ME HIS WORD on the $1000 trade-in offer, and Leon was there to witness it. I did not have the car with me, but told him that the paint was peeling and the “check engine” light has been on for over 10 years. The car has been checked numerous times, and no one could find the source of the warning light. I told him that was the car my husband drove to work every day, it was clean, and in good conditions. Leon brought the Rav4 to my house on 5/2/20 and drove the Avalon back to the dealership to finalize the papers. The “appraiser” apparently drove the car, and said the steering wheel was shaking at 60 mph, something my husband had never felt. I guess the car decided to shake for the first time as soon as it got to Sparks Toyota parking lot. Amazing. I then received a call from Leon stating that the dealership would not honor the promised trade-in price of $1000 but would give me $750 instead. I was caught off-guard (I now see that was a sales tactic) and told Leon I would accept the $750 since the car was already in my driveway, and I did not want to take the sale away from him. I then called Troy Leonard, sales manager, on Monday to explain my situation and voice my disappointment and anger over the fact that Todd gave me his word on the trade-in, but apparently he was overruled by a power-hungry sales manager who was condescending and stretching the truth when he told me there was no wiggle room to take the $250 off somewhere else. I know how the game is played (and it is indeed a game) and am 100% certain that Troy could have made the adjustment to the final cost of the car. $250 is petty cash to a dealership as big as Sparks. Troy did, to his credit, offer to negate the entire sale if that was what I wanted, I chose not to do that since the papers were signed, and my husband had driven the car to work that morning. This incident has left a bad taste in my mouth, and I will never again do business with this dealership. It’s not about the money, but it is about the integrity of the employees who give their word and then cowardly back down.. I will tell any of my friends who may be in the market for a new car to steer clear, as well. These slick sales managers are what give car dealerships a bad name in the first place. More
The staff were very friendly and took the time to explain all the features for the vehicle. The sales staff were not pushy and permitted a nice experience. all the features for the vehicle. The sales staff were not pushy and permitted a nice experience. More
OEM parts taken off and replaced with aftermarket Took 4 Runner in for repairs. Not all service was performed as expected. Some parts on dash are broken now that were fine before they worked on it. Al Took 4 Runner in for repairs. Not all service was performed as expected. Some parts on dash are broken now that were fine before they worked on it. Also noticed that some original parts were taken off and replaced with cheap aftermarket parts. I would inspect your vehicle well and review condition before paying and accepting. More

Sparks has polite service people, like Travis Venters, but money hungry and time wasting policies. Sparks has had nothing but taking customers money on their minds since at least 2004. The latest exa but money hungry and time wasting policies. Sparks has had nothing but taking customers money on their minds since at least 2004. The latest example, situstion #1. This fix was a Toyota free to the customer recall repair. Sparks wanted an appointment to "inspect" to see if repair was needed. Sparks did not have the warranty part in stock. Sparks refused my offer to wait and inspect when the leaf springs were in stock, which would save me a trip. Inspected and said that I needed new parts with no mention of my aftermarket nerf bars that were installed by previous owner. After arriving 15min early for my appointment I was called 2 hours later. Travis told me that since they need to move the after market running boards they needed to charge me $65. I told them to just leave the running boards in the bed of the truck. He said they still need to charge $65 to remove them. I told them okay, forget about the rear leaf springs that I probably don't need anyway. I was called back 5min and told the manager approved the cost at no charge to me. Which is nice of sparks but they had an opportunity at "inspection" to make me aware of the running boards. Why am I trying to fend off charges for recall item. There are atleast 2 more situations that are worse. Response from dealer sent to me in a email violated the terms of dealerrater and cannot be posted. To summarize the dearships response in their words, the customers expectations are too high and in the best interest for all should not return. Instead of taking constructive criticism, the dealer chooses to ban then customer. I have owned Toyotas and used Toyota dealerships for over 30 years and this one is not good right now. I guess that happens when you are the only in town. The only thing me and this dealer can agree on is that my expectations are too high for his dealership and I shall not return. More
